My name is Ha Sooyoung.

I currently attend Loona High School and was asked to stay behind in class because I accidently stole this nerd named Haseul’s lunch money.

Sadly she decided to snitch on me.

Anyhow, after detention, I walked home on my usual route and suddenly felt a tiny drop on my face.   

Uh oh.

For some reason, my family and I get sick really easily so I quickly ran around to search for shelter while using my backpack over my head to keep most of myself dry.

"AHHH~CHUU!

“It’s so cold!”

I was now feeling irritated because my nose started to get stuffy.

This has got to be the worst day… the weather forecast didn't even mention rain earlier.

Of course, my favorite season was the one and only Summer.  The weather in Korea would always be cloudy with blue skies and rays of sunshine during that season. 

It felt like heaven every day.

Not too hot and not too cold.

The only person that I knew who even likes rain is my dumb friend Jung Jinsoul. She claims the rain is her friend and also her good luck charm because she was told from a “fortune teller” that she lived as a Blue Betta Fish in her past life.

Delusional.

Anyways, as I continued to run, I finally found a bus station nearby where I could be completely dry under its rooftop.

I noticed another young girl to my left in a different school uniform who was also hiding from the rain. 

She looked so innocent… the total opposite of me.

Her face was small and her hair was light brown with bangs and light curls at the bottom.

She looked up and right towards my direction.

"Ha Sooyoung...?" That pretty girl questioned and stared.

That surprised me out of nowhere.

How does this girl know my name?

“Hmm… Do I know you?” I asked carefully, trying not to offend her for not knowing who she was.  

But now that I think of it, she does seem oddly familiar…

I blinked a couple of times to make sure it’s her.

It… really is her.

I haven’t seen her in so long.

"Oh you’re Kim Jiwoo!" I said confidently with an amazed face.

"Haha long time no see... right?"

"Yes... I-It's been a while..." She replied awkwardly while avoiding eye-contact.

I nodded in agreement.

Who would’ve thought while waiting for the rain to pass by, I happened to run into Kim Jiwoo, my old middle school classmate.

Jiwoo was still cute, petite and very much feminine as before.

Her body looks even more slender as well...

She was always popular with the boys in our class too for the reason that they were obsessed with cute girls and cute voices.

It suddenly went quiet for a good minute.

What the hell was I supposed to say to an old class-mate who I never really spoke to?

I gave her a friendly eye-smile and tried to start a random conversation.

"Of all the days to forget my umbrella!" I laughed.
"I'm soaked!"

“M…Me too…" She shyly whispered, keeping her head down.

Maybe I should've kept running to find a shelter elsewhere.

Because the truth is… I know she hates me.

We both stood in awkward silence again as the rain poured heavier.

I slightly glanced over to Jiwoo who was staring into space.

She is seriously cute...

I exhaled.

We've never talked much.

I don't know the exact reason for why she hates me.

I just noticed whenever our eyes met, she'd act all tense and look the other way quickly.

We were never close, so I never got the chance to ask her why.

However, when I found out we were going to different high schools.

It was a big relief.

Well… I must endure this until the rain lets up to finally go home and hopefully never see her again.

I took my phone out and checked the time.

4:19 PM

"Is that the Iphone 7?" Jiwoo asked out of the blue.

Again, I’m surprised she’s talking to me.

"Huh?"

I looked down at what was engraved in the back of my phone and saw 7s.

"Oh yeah…I just traded in my old one recently."

I unconsciously moved a bit closer to her to show off.

"What kind of phone do you have?"

She was the first one to initiate the conversation, I thought it was a little strange, but I’m sort of glad.

Jiwoo observed my phone carefully.

"Ah… this is mine..." She replied soundlessly.
"Iphone 5s."

"Woah I had that same one!"

"Though, it’s a little slow… don't you think?""

Jiwoo nodded like a puppy.

"Yeah when I'm texting and especially when I browse the internet."

"Exactly!" I exclaimed and chuckled a little.

"It was driving me crazy, you see I love this new phone."

I unlocked my phone and showed her the home-screen.

"See, it's pretty much the same thing, but I guess more advanced."

She stood closer to me this time and I leaned a bit more to show my new phone properly.

I remember she had glasses back in middle school but I guess she wears contacts now.

Jiwoo silently stared at what I was doing.

"..."

I continued to blab.

"So, I was debating on getting an android like Samsung but I really like the design on this one more." I explained like an idiot but she eventually smiled a bit.

"And I've always been into Apple products because there are a bunch of great apps and such."

I kept on rambling and suddenly looked up to see if she was even paying any attention and we made eye contact, but this time it felt strange.

Jiwoo unexpectedly gave me the cold shoulder and turned her head away immediately.

"...."

Now I’m feeling irked.

She’s got to be kidding me... when she was the one who brought it up.

It’s time to finish this and speak up to ask her what her deal is!
