Chapter 4

The next day passed by, then the next, and the next, until I didn’t realize that I’ve already been working for a month. Sometimes, it always comes to my mind, why did I become the COO’s secretary. I mean, not that I’m complaining, it’s just that… isn’t it weird, a newbie - fresh graduate on top of that, was able to become a secretary, not just a mare secretary but to the premier group, Arengur Prime, and as a cherry on top, with Mark, the COO.

And during those short span of time, I was able to get know Mark more. He’s very sophisticated, dedicated to his work, knows even the smallest to the smallest mistakes, he’s strict, yes, just as what Mrs. Kim said, but it’s all work related, and he’s very… kind, to me, and it feels that I just want to open up to him more.

“Jinyoung, can you get me coffee please” as I heard him through the intercom located beside the two phones. “Yeap… on it sir” I replied and got up from my seat to go to the pastry area. Well Mark started calling my first name a week ago saying that ‘Mr. Park’ sounded too old and too long

“Good Afternoon Sir” I greeted from my seat as I see him coming through the lobby door. He just arrived after a meeting with some potential investors together with CEO Im. I then grabbed the folders that was requested by him containing last month’s sales and followed him to his office

“Sir this we’re the files you requested containing the sales of last month. Mr. Hwang’s secretary said that he already has the summary on the first page, he said that if you have any recommendations you can reach him anytime” as I placed the folder on this already folder-filled table.

“Thank you, Mr. Park” he said closing his eyes tiredly while rubbing his temples. I looked at him feeling sorry, he looks tired with that eye bags decorating under his eyes already. The company’s recently trying to close this very huge project with some European investors and if they’ll be able to get this, they will be one step ahead from their competitors.

“Do you need anything sir? Coffee perhaps or tea?” I asked him in case he wanted anything in particular

“Anything will do… I guess… ahh no no… Coffee it Is, thank you, Mr. Park” he smiled as he started looking through the files I gave him again.

Coffee…in 3,2,1 done… As I poured the last remaining amount of coffee from the coffee machine to the COO’s mug. The coffee itself is also plain, black and with a teaspoon of sugar. I placed the mug in a saucer and carried it to the COO’s office.

“Sir, your coffee” as I placed the coffee on his table

“Thank you jinyoung” I was shocked as I heard it. I looked at him, eyes big

“Sir… you called me jinyoung” I said while smiling making my eyes look like a crescent moon

“Yeah… I can call you that, can I?” he said smiling, making his teeth a little visible

“Of course, Sir you can call me any name you want”

“Jinyoung sounds nice, Mr. Park makes you look like a little old and it’s too long for my mouth to pronounce anyway”

Back to reality, I was on my way to make his coffee when I realized that we’re out of coffee beans already. I made my way back to his office, peaked in a little and announced that I was going to get coffee beans to the main pastry down stairs

“Excuse me sir, but I’m going down to get a bag of coffee beans, we ran out of it”

“Okay don’t be too long” his eyes not leaving the monitor of his computer

I closed the door slowly, entered the employee’s elevator to make my way downstairs. Upon arriving to the main pantry, there were a few employees inside as well as chefs taking their breaks, I then made a beeline to the sac of coffee beans that was placed just on the side. Different sac of coffee beans of different brands can be seen displayed with their little cute shovels showing and I just have to place them in my little sac then I’ll get going

Grabbing the coffee shovel of the COO’s favorite brand of coffee, it came to my attention the conversation of the two employees whispering to one another, guess what, their whispers weren’t whispers at all

“did you hear, they said Kim Yugyeom’s here” as she squealed happily, tapping her friend the same time “but I didn’t see him though so maybe me passed by the VVIP entrance, and one of my friends said that they saw his van pass by the entrance” “what?! Really! Aww… how I really wish that I’ll see him personally someday” “He just came from his US tour, so I guess he came to visit COO Tuan” as finished her sentence and took a small sip of her own tea

“Wow, Kim Yugyeom is here, like in this building” I whispered to myself. I guess I need a little bit more of luck to be able to see him because, heck, he’s one of the top artist not only in Korea but also abroad. Best in dancing, best in singing, best in composing, what more can’t he do and he’s like twenty-freakin’-years old Oh, and by the way, he’s Mark half-brother, good genes really run in their family ey, so maybe that’s why he was here.

As I finished refilling the coffee bag, I went back to the elevator and made my way to the COO’s office only to find someone sitting at my desk, dressed in black shirt, black pants, with black hat and black mask, though you can see his ash, blonde, hair sticking out of the hat, his concentration thought is on his phone that he’s holding

“Ah... Excuse me sir, do you have an appointment” as I made my way to the pastry area to place the bag of coffee beans back in their places, grabbed a handful and placed them at the grinder machine. I them made my way back to my table only to find the man staring at me intently.

“I’m sorry sir, there was a bit of errands I had to do… is there a problem” I asked since he’s been staring non-stop, he even stopped looking at his phone!

I was looking at the monitor of my computer to see if some appointment has been made or if Mr. Tuan had visitors expecting, but then at my peripheral vision, the man that was standing in front of me suddenly disappeared, my chair rotated sideways, and I was pulled in a bone crushing hug!

“What are you doing?!” I said in panic. My arms on the side and my upper body bent a bit backwards, trying to avoid his hug

“Jinyoung hyung! Hyung! Hyung! Is it really you?” he asked excitedly, still pulling me close to him, though I can’t see him smile but the shape of his eyes tells otherwise.

“Ah… Ah… wha… my name is jinyoung bu… but I think you’re mistaken me for someone else, sir”

“Aniya~… It’s really yo-“

“Jinyoung-ah is the coffee rea—…” surprised I turned my head to the source of the voice and found Mr. Tuan’s half body sticking out of the door, and I can say he was also surprised at the sight he’s seeing

“Sir! Please help me-“

“Kim Yugyeom, what are you doing to my secretary” he said in an almost flat tone
