Chapter 2

“What! I’m sorry… wha- what do you mean full” my eyes nearly bulging from their sockets and in my head, I was ready to cry, I looked at the head of human resources, Mrs. Kim Jae-in.

“I’m sorry Mr. Park but I guess you’ve read the information wrong, the position your applying was at the finance department, application day at that department was yesterday, we’re having an application day for the marketing department today” as she looked at me apologetically

How stupid can I get? But I remember I did read it correctly… No… maybe I was wrong… no… maybe they were wrong… no… just calm down jinyoung

“How about I apply for the marketing team instead, I have great credentials, I can follow easily” I said, looking with hope in her eyes

She sighed and said “I’m sorry Mr. Park, but you are the hundredth and three applicant for this day already, many are aspiring to enter marketing group and with that applicants, I think we can find our new thirty target employees. Though, you have great credentials it’s just a pity you didn’t come early”

“But I didn’t know you only have specific number of applicants only”

“we have plenty of vacant spots for the marketing group Mr. Park, but the number of applicants applying for marketing is already enough and it’s already 2 in the afternoon, we only have tomorrow to go all through these files”

“Do you have any vacancies I can apply for? Anything, just please” I said practically begging

“Let us check for a minute” as she turned around and went to her secretary that was seated behind her. Through after a minute I can see them whispering while arguing, she finally returned to her seat, holding what it seems to be a folder.

She then turned her attention to me again “uhh… Mr. Park we have a vacant spot for quite some time now and with your background and achievements, I think you will do good” She the stole a glance towards her secretary and said “If you would like, you can apply as a secretary instead”

 A Secretary… WHAT!

I looked at her in disbelief “A secretary?... the –follow me, arrange my schedules, copy this, copy that- secretary?... are you sure?” trying to hide my smile, well I did not expect this at all

“exactly… uhm… actually the previous secretary got married just recently and she was serving for a long time already and we just happen to look for a new one, and from the looks of it, you’re the more applicable one. Through, you just have to follow his rules, demands, arrange his schedules and receive phone calls, report to him, encode the files he will give you, he is strict but it’s all for the work” she said with a smile

Should I take this… or not… am I really that capable to this job?... Jinyoung! Why the heck are you thinking twice! This is the right opportunity, the best opportunity. On top of that a secretary that is…  Accept it already!

“I guess I’ll take it ma’am”

I looked at her, shocked when she suddenly exclaimed “Perfect!... I mean you made the right choice…Sir, now, you just have to fill up this form and sign at the next page. You can read it, take your time” I scanned the folder she gave me and read the terms and conditions written there carefully, but I did not expect this one

what the heck… cannot resign for 6 months

“what does this mean that I can’t resign for six months”

“well based on this term and conditions that is different from the others, if you can handle your six months with him, you won’t be a trainee anymore

What that is—

You’ll be junior secretary of the company”

I looked at her and the other girl in disbelief “well… that is impossible” I chuckled “and unfair for the others, I guess”

“it is possible and don’t worry about other people, they won’t be able to handle if they’re in your position, if you’ll comply to all the terms, conditions, and demands for six months then... voilà junior secretary”

“what happens when I suddenly resign without reaching six months” as I hesitated for a moment

and I wished I didn’t even asked that question after hearing her answer “Well for starters, you’ll be blacklisted in all Arengur Prime holdings, which is more or less 70% part of this economy, which is why… other people don’t find other job after leaving” as she whispered the last part

I sighed as I turned off the television, well I was expecting Mark to also come. You know Mark, Mark Yi-en Tuan, COO of Arengur, my role model, the love of my life, the brightest star in my dark sky. Well… I wish I had a relationship with him but I guess this relationship only exist in my head, and really, I didn’t expect to fall hard on him because, let me tell you a little story... I saw Mark one day on the coffee shop I was working, didn’t who he was or know him at all that was until one of the female employee started gossiping

I sighed as I returned from the stock room after taking my break only to find this people gossiping “Yah what are you talking about, boss will get angry when he sees we are not working” and let me tell you there was only the three of us

“What the heck- jinyoung, can you not see who is entering our freaking doors right now” one of the girls suddenly said. There were a few people inside the café so it was not really that busy

“j-i-n-young… jinyoung do you not know who that guy is! Looking from afar, I can already tell… He’s freaking Mark Tuan, M-A-R-K T-U-A-N, business tycoon and COO mind you” the other one bickered

I sighed and said “Well he’s coming, I’ll go take his order

Good Morning Sir welcome to Café… “ I looked up from the monitor and saw this gorgeous guy What?!... he was definitely NOT this attractive from afar BUT my oh my he has smooth skin I can tell and, Oh my gosh, what a small face and those beautiful eyes. I didn’t know that I was staring for too long already when one of my coworker pinched me in the arm

“owww what the hell was that” I said as I rubbed that sore part, she then silently pointed the person that was on the other side of the counter, I then saw Mark Tuan staring at me

“Oh right! Uhh… what would be your order” I said focusing on the monitor, blushing. Oh my god… he caught me staring at him, freakin’ embarrassing.

A beautiful deep voice then said “one Iced Americano, to go please” with a little smirk that I caught

“One Iced Americano, to go, that would be 5,000 won please” as he then handled his black card that I hurriedly swiped and punched in. My co-worker then handed me his order

“Your order sir please come again” “Yea, thanks… uhh jinyoung” he said with a little smile, that I also returned, as he looked at my nameplate and turned his back going out of the shop.

“your one lucky guy jinyoung ah! Can’t believe he said your name!” my coworkers exclaimed.

And that was the moment when I turned myself to this little fanguy for him and look at the time, it’s been TWO years

I chucked to myself when I remember those times I stalk him on the internet and read all the articles related to him, that was when I got the inspiration to study hard, to be able to work in the empire he’s also working with 

My thoughts were interrupted when a whining minjun kept saying that he wants to play already. Well I guess I’ll get to see a glimpse of him when a start working at Arengur Prime next week.
