One of the men grunted as he lifted up the 50lbs bag of cornstarch. As the group quickly empty the carts and buckets set near the wall of Rosemary, Shinhye and Yonggon watched quietly by the door. At times Yonggon would click his tongue when the group of men kicked the carts, buckets, and or baskets.

Slowly, Daewon approached them with a lowered, dangerous scrutinized. He rubbed his lower lip with his index before stopping before them, “I guess the sight of gangsters no longer disgusts you? Seeing that you’re housing a few,” he eyed Yonggon, “of them.” Then he looked back to Shinhye, “Make up your mind. Tomorrow will go accordingly to the choice you would have made,”

“What does that mean?” Shinhye spoke again in what was a long time.

Daewon cocked his head to the side as he said, “That man earlier. Decide whether you want to keep or get rid of him. If I see him again tomorrow, I’ll do something you’ve least expected,” Daewon then rose a hand and was ready to caress Shinhye’s cheek, the cheek he made a cut on. But she was quick to smack his hand away.

“You’ve done enough today, Jung Daewon,” she said in a low voice. Her action put a smirk on his face as he turned away.

“Think about it. We’ll be back tomorrow,” then with that, Daewon was the last to walk toward a Bentley sitting in front of a large truck. The truck they brought to load Rosemary’s goods in.

Yonggon spat at the sight of their backs as he mumbled, “I hate him,”

Meanwhile, Shinhye tried not to break under the pressure. She hated herself and the fact that she once missed and yearned for Daewon’s touch again. And though if he were to touch her again, she would have welcomed it.

“Sister,” Jangjun stopped behind the threshold as he waited for Shinhye and Yonggon to notice him. And when they did, he gasped a little. “Shinhye, you’re bleeding!”

“Ah stay still!” Jangjun said as he fought to put medicine on Shinhye’s cheek. The pairs of siblings were in Shinhye’s office. Jangjun had helped himself onto the surface of her desk while facing her, who was comfortable in her own chair. The lass sighed as Jangjun insisted he will take care of her cut for her. “Now, let me cover it with this,” Jangjun peeled the band-aid and gently placed it on Shinhye’s cheek. He rubbed it over softly to secure it was sealed. Then slipping under his fingers was Shinhye, who had to check it.

“Oh, it’s completely covered,” she commented. And though it was meant as a compliment, Jangjun frowned at her.

“It was his ring wasn’t it? The thing that cut you,” he spoke with a hint of irritation and anger in his tone. But Shinhye only smiled as she leaned back in her chair. She looked elsewhere as she spoke softly to him.

“It was the ring I bought him for his nineteenth birthday. He still wears it to this day,”

At this Jangjun rolled his eyes and blurted, “You said it was because he saw it at the shop and couldn’t keep his eyes off of it! He’s not wearing it because you gifted it to him! He’s wearing it because he likes it! Quit giving him the benefit of the doubt! He’s trash Shinhye! Trash! Can’t you like someone else? Is he the last man on earth?”

Despite Jangjun being heated, Shinhye broke out a chuckle. “Who else is there? You know Daewon used to like me too,”

Jangjun scoffed, sometimes he can’t believe the sister he adored and look up to so much could be so simple-minded, “In the past sure! But nowadays better men are appearing in front of you and you’re just ignoring them because of that bastard!”

Shinhye laughed. The sight of Jangjun made her happy and proud. He has grown up a lot, she thought. “You know I don’t feel that way towards Yonggon—”

“Youngjae! I’m talking about Youngjae, Shinhye!”

Bewildered, Shinhye’s smile and any enjoyment in her vanished, “Youngjae?”

The teen nodded enthusiastically, then quickly held out his fingers as he began to list, “He’s funny. Smart. Good looking. Manly. Can fight. And isn’t afraid and stood up to Nonfinite. So why can’t it be him?”

The corner of her lips rose as she teased, “Are you sure it’s not you who likes him?”

“Shinhye~” Jangjun began to whine but the lass stopped him with a raise of her hand.

“Why? How can you be sure that’s really his nature when he’s only been staying here for a few days?”

Jangjun shook his head as he quickly inserted, “I found out-ah wait, no, he told me he likes Seyeon. If you don’t make yourself noticeable now, you might lose him to Seyeon. I want him as my brother-in-law sis!”

Innocently, Shinhye shrugged. “Well, Seyeon is a sister to you too, so you will get what you want,”

Jangjun shook his body, “Are you going to be like this sis? I’ll start rebelling again—”

The woman waved him off, “Oh? When did you stop? I didn’t notice,” Jangjun scoffed but Shinhye proceeded, “go, I have work to do. I must see what we can do about tomorrow,”

The laddie scrunched his nose, “No thanks. I’m going to stay and pester you,”
