III.

The starting rays of the day had only just filtered into your room but you were already wide awake in bed, your nerves tightly strung together. You had spent all night tossing and turning, all attempts of riding Jae from your thought ultimately proving futile.

Seeing no further point in trying to fall back asleep, you dragged your tired body out of bed and into the shower, letting the scalding water run over your body until your skin was tingling and raw. Whilst dressing, you unconsciously picked a pair of yellow earrings, which also happened to be Jae’s favourite colour. Knocking back a strong cup of black coffee and purposefully scalding your tongue on it in a last-ditch attempt to wake your senses up, you set off to the concert venue and began to steel your nerves for the intense 24 hours ahead.

Not because work will be tough, but because you’d be spending the next 24 hours figuring out whether to evade Jae.

Or not.

When you got the concert venue at 8am, the crew was already there in full force, the backstage bustling with people trying to get ready for the grand show tonight. You greeted familiar faces before making yourself busy all morning, checking in with the light and sound crew to make sure the entire system is running smoothly.

As part of a mandatory check, the sound crew ran through the entire set-list of songs.

You, however, were not ready to hear his voice.

It felt surreal to hear his voice through the speakers, sounding as clear as dew on a fresh morning. You only ever his voice up close when he sang only for you on private occasions, but to hear his voice mixed in with other instruments and sounding so much more stable with proper training evoked another sort of response from you and you got so emotional a few tears streaked down your face, in which you hastily wiped to erase any trace of them.

When the last notes of the song faded and the lights dimmed, you stood from your seat at the hall and made your way outside of the building for some fresh air.

Stepping out, you

Once again, i have been touched by your story and i would be lying if chapter 4 didnt broke my heart. I was anticipating for that happy ending in which the both leads will live happily ever after however that twist really got me. The first story that i have read from you author nim was smudges and to be honest i did not know that this story was also written by you. Unknowingly, i have also read other stories of yours and always have high praises for your writing skills. I absolutely love the fact that the ending was unexpected. Thank you for all these great stories.

Chapter 5: Oh my God
I really like the twist in your story^^
You also have a good choice of words that you use.
The suspense is there. I am really shocked when I know the truth.
You also did a good job in the dialogue part
There is always a problem for me to write a dialogue.
I never be that condition that's why I think the dialogue that I wrote is a bit awkward but when I read yours, I didn't feel awkward at all...
You have your own way to grab reader attention by dialogue^^
Good job author nim^^
Hope we can read your next story soon^^
And I hope you can enjoy reading mine too^^ My story is from Day6 too^^
But it is not as perfect as yours especially in grammar and vocabulary since my mother language is not English
If you can leave your thought about my story, I will be really grateful
Once again, I want to say I really love your story^^
Good job author-nim^^

Chapter 5: Darling,
Okay but can we stop right here a bit? It was such an emotional story I really, truly broke my heart (in a good way, of course since it showed that things couldn't work out all the time yet we're able to find our happiness more than once). I believe that first love indeed has a huge impact on people but I also believe that it doesn't last forever. With time, after our first broke our heart, we're going to move on. Always. And gosh, that baby girl in the end is the proof that love is amazing. She lost Jae but found someone who loves her and give her a baby girl full of joy. And Jae's thoughts damn, they were deep. They hit me hard!
Have an amazing day xx

Chapter 5: Awwwwwwwwwww i love this a lot tbh it's the tyoe of story i could see myself writing so maybe that's why u have a soft spot for it hahahaha. It was kinda sad cos all the while i was under the impression she was still single but i still loved this a lot because of the realism. We don't always end up with our first loves, but if we can live with the memory of them as a part of ourselves and find happiness, then he time spent with each other will always be valuable to both parties.
