It’s lunch time, Jihyo and I decided to just eat in the hospital's cafeteria instead of going out like we used to. Yeah, both of us work in a hospital as doctor. I got to know her when I enter the university to further my study. She is one year older than me but there something about her that make it easier for me to be her friend.
She can be said as easy going person. You won’t feel awkward around her, even though it is the first time you meet her. Even children love her. That’s why she take pediatrician as her main course, while I take neurologists as mine.
“Can I ask you something?” I say after we take our sit and ready to eat.
"Of course. What is it?" she says and begin to eat her meal.
“How come you always look happy?” I ask. Honestly, that question has been in my mind a long time ago, but I didn’t have the chance to ask her. I know that the question sound weird, and that’s one of the reasons why I didn’t ask before.
“What did you mean by 'always happy'?” she asks me back after swallowing her food. She look at me, wondering what make me ask such a question.
“You know. Every time I look at you, you always smile and seem happy. I never see you being grumpy or something like that. How can you always happy all the time?” I say and take a bite of my meal.
“Honestly, I didn't.” She says and smile. She then continue her meal. It almost seem like she is trying to fool me with her answer. Well, she can be playful too at some times.
“What? No way” I say after I swallow half of my drink. Thanks to her answer, I almost got choked on my food.
“I'm serious. The term ‘always happy’ didn't really exist in my life. In fact, it does not exist in anyone else life.” She says and look at me, still giving me a smile. I didn’t know whether she is joking or not this time.
“So, why you always smile if you wasn’t happy?” I ask with a frown, trying to make sure that she is telling the truth.
“It is because it's very easy to smile.” She says and continue eating. I look at her for a minute, trying to process the meaning of her statement.
“No it wasn't. When you sad, you won't be able to smile.” I say with a disbelief in my tone. To be honest, I believe that no one in this world would smile especially when they are sad. Not one person would be able to do that, es
