"Baekhyun.." the doctor started and paused for a while as he read in silence the result of Baekhyun's medical result. "You only have a week to live." the words rolled out of the doctor's mouth like it was on repeat, making Baekhyun freeze on the spot, his eyes were now clouded and blurred by those pool of tears that is eager to flow out of his eyes.

"I will always... be right here for you, Baek." Chanyeol said while holding out Baekhyun's hand. Trying to hold his own tears because he doesn't want to look weak in front of baek. Chanyeol held his head up, he may look strong but deep inside all he want is to let all the pain away from baek and transfer to him instead. 

That's how he love him... at least, only he knows it because he never says it directly to baek. He's afraid of missing the chance so he took the courge for the first time.

"Baek.. I--- I love you." he confessed, looking at their intertwined hands. He slowly looked up to see Baek's reaction, looking so astonished and taken aback. Chanyeol gulped down the forming lump on his throat and let out a weird laugh. "i- i love you as a best bro!" he spat out, rather nervous.

Once again.. he missed out his chance..

Their chance. Two souls perfectly matched but they don't know it or-- they won't admit it. Such a tragic fate, such horrible destiny. Meeting their other half at the right place but the wrong time.

Chanyeol read the note that baek wrote, the note was still in baekhyun's hand who's now fast asleep.

"Allow me to be a mess for a little longer, allow me to complain and whine for a bit. Don’t tell me it makes me weak, tell me it’s okay, tell me I will heal." Baekhyun's voice crack as he spit the words out of his mouth, almost breathless and weak in tone.

All chanyeol could do was stare at him, let him be. Let him be happy and feel contented until his last breathe. He was physically happy but deep inside holds a million of stabs everytime he saw how fragile Baek gets every single day that passed.
