AUTHOR'S NOTES

First of all, thank you upgrader for the beautifully organized writing contest Young Blood.

I had always wanted to write a story for WINNER but for various reasons I never did. These talented & humble boys deserve more love and when I saw the prompt 'Wabi sabi- finding beauty in imperfections', I knew immediately this was the story for this group of boys who overcame so much in 2017.

NOWHERE is a story about a moment. It is not a full story, not about a journey and it doesn't have an ending. It is a moment in the lives for four young men, who were feeling regretful, lost, alone and sentimental. It is a moment, when no one ask someone to forget about it, to be strong, to hang in there or to move on. It is just them, accepting what they feel. It is just them, living with & in spite of these feelings.

Kind of like, it is perfectly okay to feel. It is perfectly okay to admit you are not in the best state. It is okay to be not okay. It is okay to be imperfect.

If you ask me, I might say this one-shot is about being perfectly imperfect. But it can be whatever you choose to take away from it.

I am not the best writer but I write because I love to write. It is really amazing to know that you are reading my story. Thank you so very much for th

Congratulations on winning 3rd place in Young Blood: A Writing Contest!

Your one shot was beautifully crafted, with good flow and solid character building. I enjoyed that you started the story with the group, damaged by the loss of one member, and then showed each member’s story within a story. You incorporated the word prompt geniously, I immediately thought of the wabi-sabi pottery as soon as you mentioned it in Suhyun’s apartment. The quote prompt also was smartly interwoven into the general theme of the story. Each man was living his own life, struggling with loneliness and loss, or in Hoon’s case, having recovered from his past and moving toward his future. This is probably the tidiest, most beautiful oneshot I have ever read. I look forward to reading more from you in the future!

Chapter 1: Honestly this was so bittersweet. It talks about life, and you really are excellent when it comes to this genere. I related to Jinwoo the most. I like how love is the reason they're either miserable or happy because I think it's very true. Good luck with the contest, I really liked it so I hope you'll do well.

Chapter 1: off the bat, i really like your writing style. i feel so bad for the boys yet i can relate to them so well too. i found yoon's part to be particularly sad with his unrequited love for hayi (i hope him and jisoo get to talk more). i really just want to hug mino, break-ups can be so hard to get over esp when you lose a best friend in the process (taehyun ;_____;). jinwoo's part was very bittersweet and relatable. a lot of my friends in their mid-twenties are going through this sense of loneliness brought by career. at least he has his cats! finally, i like how you ended the story with hoon's part. i'm so glad he's letting go of that self-destructive phase thanks to suhyun. she's so right about not wanting to be put on a pedestal since that would make their relationship unhealthy.

overall i really like how this one-shot illustrates different issues from heartbreak, unrequited feelings, loneliness, and love in a poignant yet relatable way. i think there was some typos in yoon's section but nothing too bad to distract from the writing. anyway, you did an amazing job! good luck with the contest. :)
