Playboy

The thing that he realized is that life works in a mysterious way. It is mysterious in a sense that whatever it is that you plan ahead of you doesn't always follows, but then, by the end of the road, you sees a result far better than the one what you had in mind. You could be planning to be a doctor yet along your journey you find something that you wanted to do more, thus, you changes your course in life.

Lu Han thinks so—with a smile on his lips—as he strum a tune on his guitar. The studio is barren save for him who choose to wait for Chanyeol who was asked by their superior to do an errand. They are supposed to go to a much awaited high school reunion of friends and being that they work in the same company,  they unanimously agreed to go together.

Lu Han smiles wider with the prospect of seeing his friends after ten years of being separated, ten long years of missing those idiots who played crucial roles in his life as a teenager. The people who basically made him to what he is now.

Humming a tune the man closes his eyes and reminisce about his life at eighteen, he remembers the hardships he went through, the faces who came and go and then, he remembers him

Him and his precious gummy smile.

Him and his beautiful eyes that seemed to hold the entire universe.

Him and his pretty face.

Him and how he brought countless butterflies in Lu Han's stomach just by saying his name.

Him and how huge of an impact he was to his life.

Even now, just remembering him brings warmth to his chest and Lu Han can honestly say that he's forever glad that he managed to met him in this lifetime. Smiling still, he strums the cords of the song he had been working for weeks now, highly motivated to finish it before the month ends. Lu Han is in the midst of singing the chorus when Chanyeol finally makes an appearance, breath uneven and his form is overall disheveled.

"Are you okay?" He couldn't help but ask.

Chanyeol tries to even out his breathing, merely managing to choke out a "yeah" before hunching back and places his hands on his knees, face pale and looking like he's about to faint any minute.

Rolling his eyes, Lu Han got off his seat and takes his water bottle out of his bag to give to the younger. Chanyeol takes it without hesitation and gulps down half of its contents.

"You know they're not going to mind even if we're a little late, there's no need for you to run back here like you're being chased by Satan." Lu Han reprimands but is responded by Chanyeol's pout.

"You say that, but Baekhyun's been spamming me nonstop. There's no way I can calm down if he's like that." He says before handling back the elder's water bottle, murmuring his thanks as he do so.

Of course.

You can always count on Byun Baekhyun in making Chanyeol a nervous wreck.

Shaking his head in amusement, Lu Han pats his junior in the back and leads him out of the studio, not forgetting to turn off the lights as he do so.

The drive to the chicken restaurant where they are supposed to meet is mostly filled by Chanyeol's chattering about his day, or ranting about their company's system and why can't he produce songs yet unlike Lu Han when he have the skills, with the elder replying that he have to prove that first and tells him to just hold on because it's going to be worth it in the end. The younger is obviously not convinced with how he frowns and whines whenever Lu Han merely smiles and pats his head.

Twenty minutes is how long it took for them to finally arrive, forty minutes had passed since the agreed time and they were prepared for Byun Baekhyun with his arms crossed who stood by the Chicken house's entrance, wearing sunglasses despite of it being nine in the evening, and his feet tapping impatiently on the ground.

They got ten minutes long of lecture about how important it is to arrive on time and how Yixing is so better than them because he was already there when he arrived (which should be not counted because Yixing after all OWN that restaurant). Lucky for them, he finally stops when said Yixing pokes his head from the glass door and welcomes them with warm hug and same old dimpled smile.

Ironically, the duo finds out that they're not the only ones who hasn't arrived yet. Sitting on their table, it seems like, three more people have yet to arrive. Two of them are undeniably the closest to Lu Han back in high school.

"What's the point of rushing us when we're still not complete?" Chanyeol says with a pout.

"Well, that's because unlike Kyungsoo, Minseok and Yifan, you're a known airhead and you might take longer or completely forgets this meeting unless you're constantly reminded." Baekhyun explains which didn't sat well with the other. Chanyeol retorts that Yixing is more of an airhead than him and that there's no way he's going to forget such a important occasion but Baekhyun merely rolls his eyes and insist that he's right: just like how he was when they were still in high school.

Lu Han on the other hand stills at second name Baekhyun mentions. He his lips before he chugs on the beer a waitress had provide them, eyeing the double glass door where they had come through expectantly.

Minseok.

Minseok.

Minseok.

It echoes in his head like a broken record, the only difference is that he completely don't mind. He can possibly listen to that name the whole day and he's never going to grow tired of it.

Minseok.

Kim Minseok.

The name itself brings him back to when he was eighteen years old, hair dyed in light brown and the time where he was one of those people who the student body just can't shut up about. When he was living with a not so good reputation hanging around his neck.

He remembers so because that's when he was with him.

Ten Years Before

"How many times is this this month?" Mr. Yang grumbles as he guides an eighteen years old Lu Han to the detention room. The boy, who got into a fight yesterday, keeps silent and merely let his homeroom teacher dictate the number of times he had gotten into a fight for the past months, each landing him to detention.

Lu Han even had the audacity to yawn—regretting the action immediately with how the bruise on the corner of his mouth ached by doing so—while Mr. Yang rambles about how bad it is for his college admissions and that Lu Han should stop getting himself into so much trouble.

It's not like he fancies fighting, is what he wants to say, but then again he shouldn't have banged that judo member's girlfriend in the first place.

Or any other people's girlfriends (or boyfriends, for that matter).

To his defence, they should keep an eye on their lovers more just so they would stop pouncing on Lu Han like some hungry animal.

Knocking on the door, it is opened by a very sleepy looking Mr. Cho who only spares Lu Han a tired expression, muttering a "you again" before going back inside the classroom.

The boy hears Mr. Yang says a "I hope this is the last time I'll send you here" before he goes inside as well, completely ignoring the man's words for he knows this won't be the last.

Lu Han is familiar with the detention room, one could even say that it's like his second—no, third home with how he frequents the classroom. With that,  he's also familiar with those who resides in, or to be more specific, he's familiar with the people who attracts trouble like him.

There's Byun Baekhyun, a sophomore who gives his teachers headaches with his blabber mouth and random pranks.

There's Do Kyungsoo, a freshman whose temper lands him to detention in a regular basis. Last time he heard,  he slammed a guitar on a classmate who wronged him. Which happened just today,  according to a bunch of gossipers.

Aside from those two, he sees a set of unfamiliar faces: one is the boy he fought with and the other, is someone who he can't exactly say he isn't familiar with. And he happens to be sitting beside the seat where he usually occupies. Shrugging his backpack further to his shoulder, Lu Han makes his way to the row near the window. He ignores how Baekhyun follows him with his eyes like a hawk and sits beside Kim Minseok who happens to be a classmate.

"Hello." He politely greets with a smile. A greeting which is responded by a timid one. "What brings you here? You're not exactly the type to land on detention." Lu Han asks and watches Minseok fidget on his seat before he says that he forgot to turn in his homework.

"Really? That's kinda funny." Lu Han chuckles. "Me? I banged that dude's chick and he got angry. Funny thing is,  I didn't even force her to do it, she came to me first." he says and points to the boy in the opposite corner with his thumb: promptly ignoring the growl that says "I can ing hear you."

The way Minseok flushes red with his wording is no doubt adorable. Lu Han had always thought that Minseok is adorable even before. When he transferred to their area back in middle school, baby fats and all or how he shy away from attention,  he did thought he was adorable back then. Now his chubby cheeks are mostly gone but he still do shy away from everyone. Even still, he's cute.

Although they are not close despite knowing each other since middle school. The main reason behind this is because Minseok is too gloomy to his liking and he isn't exactly the type Lu Han befriends in the first place.

So they're mostly just acquaintances.

"You're red." He comments with a grin,  making Minseok flush redder. The soft "I'm not" nearly escaped Lu Han's ears.

But the next person who speaks loud isn't Minseok nor is he even close to Minseok.

"Heol," Baekhyun says as he turn his chair so that it's directly facing them both. "Look at you, all red and just by hearing someone else's life." He comments directly to Minseok who frowns in return.

"I'm not red." Minseok once again denies.

"Yes and I don't like boys." Baekhyun retorts with a roll of his eyes. Shifting his attention to Lu Han who is watching their exchange, he smirks. "Pardon him. You see, Minnie here is a , like Jesus' Mom. He hasn't even had his first kiss just yet so excuse him for blushing when comes into topic." The younger states making Minseok gasp in horror.

"I-I don't think that's a kind of information you should say in public!" Minseok exclaims and Lu Han notes how flustered he is with how he blush and clenches his fist.

"Oops?" Is all Baekhyun says—grinning wide—before his turning his chair back to its original state. "You should ask Lu Han to deise you, I heard he's really good at it." The younger adds shamelessly and nearly made Minseok faint in the process, only managing to squeak a "deise is not a word" before he shoots Lu Han a frightened look and hastily transfer his seat beside Kyungsoo who was sleeping.

Lu Han never really thought about it much that day and he still treated Minseok the same way as he usually do.

It's until Yifan started something he shouldn't have one faithful day.

Lu Han still remember it well.

It was lunch and per usual,  him and his so-called "band" are lining up to buy their lunch. Yixing is in front of Lu Han (looking dazed per usual), behind him Chanyeol is chattering about this show he watched last night, and behind Chanyeol is Yifan who ignores the boy by scrolling through his social networking sites. Lu Han could not really care about what is it that he's blabbering about and is more concerned about the menu, so he ignores him. It's until the boy deeply sighs (dreamily to be more precise) that Lu Han finally shifts his attention to him. He sees him looking at someone in the cafeteria and following his sight eventually lead him to no other than Byun Baekhyun himself with Kim Minseok trailing close behind him.

"You're drooling," he says and pats the younger on his stomach. "Just confess already. I don't think you have anything to lose by doing so." Lu Han adds and takes a step forward.

"B-but what if I get rejected? I don't think I can live with that!" Chanyeol exclaims, earning a few attention as he did so while Lu Han merely rolls his eyes.

"Then you move on," came the elder's response. "There are plenty of fishes in the sea. You'll find another one."

"As expected from the resident playboy!" the younger whistles and massages the elder on his shoulder. "I wish I can do that but I genuinely like Baekhyun, you know. If only I'm like you, I can have all the boys and girls fawning over me." Chanyeol states, something that Yifan loudly scoffs at.

"Whoever told you he can have everyone that he wants lied." The tall boy says with his eyes still glued on his phone screen. "There's a limit to the number of people he can seduce." he adds, hitting a nerve.

"Are you sure about that?" Lu Han starts. "I can make someone else's girlfriend kneel before me,  what makes you think that there's someone out here who I can't seduce?" He says and shoots his cousin a look.

"Because, you can't have everything that you want. That's the easiest explanation I can supply." Yifan retorts,  this time sliding his phone to his pocket and looks at Lu Han directly in the eyes.

"Maybe on some other things but I can assure you that I can have whoever I set my eyes on worship me like a God," Lu Han boasts which made Yifan's thick eyebrows furrow.

"Is that so?" His cousin says. "Anyone?"

"Anyone." Lu Han confirms.

Nodding, there's a small smirk forming on Yifan's lips. "Okay," he says.  "Let's do a bet then. I'll give you a target and you have to seduce them before this school year ends,  make them kneel in front of you and worship you like a God of something. If you win, I will run around the school but if you fail in doing so,  you'll give me your Lamborghini. How's that?" he challenges.

"Until this school year ends? That's too long. Give me a month." Lu Han smirks and shakes Yifan's extended hand, sealing a unwritten contract. In between them,  Chanyeol looks uneasy and says a small "isn't that a bit cruel to the person?" but is ignored by Lu Han.

"So," the eldest starts. "Who's my target?"

Yifan scans the cafeteria, looking at each person and stares at them like he's inspecting their very soul,  until, his lips quirks up,  and points at someone standing by the vending machine. "Him. I want you to seduce him."

Following his line of sight, Lu Han raises an eyebrow at the person his cousin had chosen. "Are you serious?" he questions.

"Why? Already losing your wits?" Yifan throws, his voice teasing and belittling Lu Han's capabilities. Something that didn't sat well with the elder. So he scoffs and roll his eyes.

"I just thought that you'd choose someone difficult. Picking him is only making this entire ordeal easier for me." He says as he picks his trays to finally get his lunch.

He hears Yifan let out a laugh and the next thing he says rang clearly in his head.

"Are you sure? Kim Minseok could be your greatest downfall."

Lu Han is brought back to reality when Baekhyun loudly exclaims the arrival of the much awaited duo.

He couldn't help but to swallow thickly as he trained his eyes to the double glass door. The first person he sees is his cousin. Yifan is dressed in the latest trend, another idiot who wears colored sunglasses when the sun is nowhere to be seen, and walks like he owns the place. He has his stoic face on and approaches their table with the look of disinterest.

And then, he finally sees him.

With Yifan's physique not blocking his significantly smaller form, he finally came into view and Lu Han swears he stops breathing.

Gone is the ridiculous bed and thick eyeglasses. In its stead is a perfectly styled hair and his breath taking eyes are in full view without the frames obstructing them.

And when they lock eyes, Lu Han is blown away because Kim Minseok is still easily the most beautiful being he had lay his eyes on.

Revised version.

Unbeta'ed.

top of the morning to ya'll ladies! (jk lol)

Ya'll probably wondering: what's with the sudden revision, ?

Well, the reason for that is because it's been bugging me how the first chapter is so different from the rest. I feel like reading the first chapter gives you a different vibe of what this fic is actually is? Like after you read it then you get on with the second chapter, you're suddenly confused because the way it's written is so different lmao. You get what I'm saying? No? Okay. Lol.

But anyway, I felt this need to revise this chapter because it simply doesn't fit the ambiance of the whole story so far, it was crackish and lame and half-assed, I didn't even proof read it much. And Lu Han's first reason for targeting Minseok doesn't really makes sense? Like they've known each other since middle school so why didn't Lu Han pounce on him during those time? Minseok isn't the only around so there's zero to none reason why would Lu Han pick him in the first place. So I then thought to change the reasoning behind it, something that would make sense to why he would choose him in the first place.

I think I'm not making any sense but LOL. THAT'S ALL WHAT I'VE GOT TO SAY BYE HAHAHAHAHA
