Chapter 5
My PetMinghao followed Junhui around the palace, carrying the umbrella over his head, trying not to drop it. He looked around, wondering where they were going. "Ah, Gaodu, if it's not out of my place to ask, where are we going?" He asked quietly, looking at the prince. Junhui turned his head towards the small boy.
"To my chambers." He answered simply.
Minghao blinked, slightly confused. "Ah, why?" He questioned.
"Quite the curious one today, aren't we Yang?" Junhui teased, stopping to face him.
"My apologies. It is out of my place to ask." Minghao said, bowing his head.
"I never said you were out of line, I merely want to know what makes you so curious today. You don't normally ask so many questions like this." Junhui explained, looking at the boy. "We are going back to my chambers so I can change out of these robes, and you and I can go into the village." Minghao looked at him with wide eyes.
"The village?!" He asked loudly, making the prince quickly cover his mouth. Junhui looked around quickly, before rushing to his chambers, bringing Minghao along. When they were behind closed doors, Junhui removed his hand from the human's mouth. "Gaodu, I hope you mean that you are going to the village fully protected?" Junhui shook his head once, smirking a bit. "But, but, you are the Crown Prince! You can't go into the village unprotected!"
Junhui tilted his head, raising his eyebrow. "Who's going to stop me?" Junhui challenged, leaning close to him. Minghao looked down, falling silent. "The guards won't know, and my father won't know, so the only one who would try to stop me would be you. But, I don't think you would do that, would you?" Minghao looked at him.
"Why wouldn't I? You could get hurt, or, or killed!" Minghao exclaimed, looking at him. "You will have to think of another way to pass the time, because, I won't let you go to the village without proper supervision," Minghao said, standing up straight. Junhui's eyebrows disappeared behind his bangs as he looked at the boy in front of him.
"Oh? And how will you stop me?" He challenged, stepping closer to Minghao, who shrunk a bit almost immediately. "Look at you, Xiǎo yánggāo*. You're already afraid of what could happen, why not let it go just this one time?" Minghao sighed, knowing he was right. "Good boy." Minghao backed away a bit, looking down slightly, watching the vampire prince walk to the centre of the room, where he waited for Mingghao to change his robes, a smug smirk on his face. Minghao changed his robes, before going to grab the umbrella.
"Ah, we won't be needing that, Yang. It's too flashy." Minghao looked at him, slightly confused. "Well, I am already dressed as a villager, to carry around something so bright as that would take away the whole facade, wouldn't it?" Minghao nodded, putting the umbrella down.
"But, it looks like it will rain today, we should have some kind of protection from the rain..." Junhui walked up to him, holding his hat on his head as Minghao tied it on.
"Whatever happened to you teaching me how to 'play in the rain?' You don't need an umbrella for that." He questioned, smiling softly. Minghao looked up at him.
"It's bad enough I'm letting you-" Junhui scoffed."-go to the village unsupervised. Imagine the trouble I could get into if I get caught for letting you run amok, and you get sick! The king would have my head."
Junhui chuckled. "But, I could still get sick if we 'played in the rain' in the palace. The king wouldn't have your head for that. And, you didn't take into consideration not getting caught outside of the palace. All we would have is a sick prince, and his bloodmate taking care of him." He reasoned, looking at Minghao. Minghao stayed silent, finishing tying Junhuis hat. Junhui nodded. "We can purchase an umbrella in the village if it will make you feel better." Minghao nodded, and Junhui smiled, leading them out of the palace.
"With the way you're handling yourself, I would assume this isn't your first time doing this sort of thing," Minghao noted as they walked down one of the streets of the village. Junhui smiled.
"You would be correct. I did this quite often before you got here." Junhui replied,
