First friend

Bad day or not?

Jungkook was away to attend his family-friends’ wedding. Jin didn't go with him, even though Jungkook did ask him. He just felt weird as he thought about going to a stranger’s wedding without having an actual invitation. So he decided to stay at home as Jungkook not so happily left to Busan without him. He claimed that he didn't know the couple that well, but his parents insisted him to go with them. So he wanted Jin to go with him, but no can do. Jin technically pushed Jungkook out of the door, as he was hanging on the door frame with his dear life.

Now Jin was alone in his apartment reading a book, but he was quickly getting bored. He decided to bake something, but backed out as he noticed he didn't have any eggs left. Apparently, he had used the last ones yesterday as he cooked dinner. Jin went into the living room and put the television on, in hopes that there would come something watchable. No such luck was blessed for him as it was only showing some boring talk shows and an old American movie. He was extremely bored. He hadn't noticed how keen he was on Jungkook’s presence. They didn't need to do much, but just his comforting presence would be enough for Jin to feel content.

Jin lay down on the couch and tried to sleep, but soon found his attempts hopeless as he turned around the hundredth time. He got up, and then lay down again, as he remembered he didn't have anything else to do.

Someone knocked on the door and before he could get up, Taehyung bolted right in, which made Jin question why did he even knock in the first place.

“Hi Jinnie hyung!”

“Please, could you stop calling me that?”

Jin sat up on the couch to give room for Taehyung who plopped down next to him.

“Hyung, could you make me food please?”

“Since when was I your personal cook?”

“Ever since my mother told you to take care of me?”

“I bet that didn't mean that I need to cook for you whenever you come to visit. You could cook yourself something".

“Ay, hyung knows that I don't know how to cook”.

“And you will never learn if you never try".

“Hyung, please! I learn some other time when I’m not so hungry that I could die!”

Tae did some dramatic hand movements to present his death, and Jin couldn’t help but roll his eyes at his friend. But he got up anyway and went to the kitchen. Taehyung was right though. Ever since their mothers made them hang out with each other, they’ve become inseparable.

It has been 15 years, and during that time Jin has taken care of Tae like he was his little brother. He can’t even count all the times he has cooked food for him or gotten him out of trouble in school. Jin was the angel, and Tae was the little demon, but they completed each other, as cliche as it sound they were a pack. No one without the other.

They met when they were both still little and in elementary school. They never had met or talked in school because of their age difference. However, when Jin’s mother told him that her old friend was moving next to them and they had a son around his age, he had to talk to him. The meeting happened faster than Jin hoped. He didn’t want to be rude, but as he heard the boy is three years younger than him he couldn’t help but be sceptical. Jin did not have close friends only those he hung out with in the school as he did not want to be alone. However, now he had to make friends and maybe even meet him often as their mothers knew each other and they live next to each other.

The doorbell rang and Jin ran to his bedroom. As he was closing the door his mother called him back to meet their guests. He turned back and was met with a small boy and a middle aged woman. Jin politely greeted the guests and before he had the chance to flee to his room, his mother asked him to take the boy with him.

“What’s your name?”

“Seokjin”

“I am Taehyung”

“I heard that you are only 8?”

“Mhm, that’s right”

“Then I’m your hyung”

“How old are you then hyung?”

“11 years”

Taehyung started to look around the room and saw Jin’s Mario stuffie.

“Oh! Do you like Mario?”

“Yes, I do”

“I like Mario too I wish I had a nintendo console so I could play it.”

“I have one if you want to try?” Jin tired to come up with something to do and maybe a game could ease the awkwardness.

“Really? Yes!”

They played the levels in turns and laughed loudly as the other failed. Jin never has had anybody to play Mario with and this was a lot of fun. Their age difference was not that noticeable after all. They had played for a long time, because suddenly Taehyung’s mother came in.

“Tae we need to go now, it’s already late.”

“But mom I want to play a little longer~” Taehyung whined as he kicked his legs in annoyance.

“You can play again tomorrow, but now is time to go home,” Tae reluctantly got up from Jin’s bed and walked towards his mother.

“Can we play together tomorrow?” Taehyung gave Jin a hopeful look. Jin nodded as an answer and smiled as Taehyung grinned widely at his answer all his teeth showing.

“Okey, see you tomorrow Jinnie hyung!”

“See you,” Jin waved as they left his room. He heard as the front door opened and closed after Jin’s and Taehyung’s mothers made a promise to meet soon. His mother came in and smiled happily.

“You and Taehyung seemed to get along well,” she was happy as she knew that Jin did not make friends easily and she has never seen Jin so happy with someone his age.

“Yeah,” Jin could not help but feel excited to meet Taehyung again tomorrow, maybe they could actually be friends. Though he needs to tell Taehyung not to call him Jinnie cause it sounds stupid in his opinion.

“Tae the food is done.”

“Can’t you bring it here? I don’t want to get up~” Taehyung complained from the couch where he was laying still.

“Seriously get up, I’m not your servant no matter how much you wish me to be. And show some respect to you hyung brat!”

“But Jinnie hyung~”

“No, and for the last time stop calling me that!” Taehyung just smiled brightly at him as he finally got up and walked to the kitchen. His smile was exactly the same as the day when they first met, wide and showed almost all Tae’s teeth. He was on idiot sometimes and very lazy, but Jin wouldn’t trade him for anything. Even if he was a pain in the and ate like a pig.

“Yah! Tae learn to eat with your mouth shut!”

Yeah, he would never trade him for anything. But, he could learn some manners. And stop calling him Jinnie!

Chapter 3: Aww this is super cute!!

Stupid assumptions aren’t always good haha

I really liked Namjoon. He’s so civilized and nice and a good friend to Jin and the rest.

Does he and Yoongi have something though or would have at least? I mean I kind of felt a subtle “ship sailing” through their interactions haha

Cute story anyway! Thanks :)
