Bad day or not?

Bad day or not?

It was a beautiful spring day. The weather was warm except the slight breeze of a wind that made the weather cold enough to need a scarf and maybe gloves and even a beanie. Kim Seokjin noticed this as he left his apartment to go for a walk in the park. He had just watched outside where the sun was still slightly shining and thought that it was warm enough for him to wear only his jacket. Oh how wrong he was, now he tried to warm his hands by putting them in the pockets of his jacket and by trying to hide his face in the collar as deep as possible.

“Damn, why is it cold suddenly? Now should be spring not winter” Jin murmured to himself as he fastened his pace to get to the store faster.

Gladly it wasn’t too far away but just enough for him to have tips of his ears and cheeks completely red. He stepped inside and he felt the rush of warm ear that made him shiver slightly from the sudden temperature change. Jin grabbed a basket and went to get what he needed. He was staring at the shopping list on his phone checking if he had everything he needed when he bumped into a man. And managed to drop the bottles that the man was holding. And just as he thought his luck couldn’t get any worse the bottles were full of pressure and they splashed everywhere, covering the floor with soda. Jin stared the mess with round eyes until he dared to rise his gaze to the man, or boy now that he looked at him more carefully. The boy looked just as shocked staring at the mess until he also looked Jin straight in the eyes. He was cute. He looked so innocent with his big eyes and plump lips until he opened them to speak.

“You’re going to pay those, and clean this mess up” and after saying that he left. No other words. He just left.

It took Jin a moment or two to internalise what just happened, but when the job owner came to ask what is going on he finally woke to that the boy who he just bumped into walked away and now he is the only one responsible for this mess. He would run after him, but he figured he should actually take responsibility of the mess because technically it was his fault. But he could have at least stayed and helped or something because after all you need at least two people for a crash to happen.

“I’m so sorry, there was a boy who I accidentally collided to and he was holding the sodas. That are now on the ground. I’m sorry I will pay them how much are they?” Jin quickly explained what happened to the job owner and for his joy the owner wasn’t too angry he just asked for him to pay for the sodas. Jin also payed for his own groceries and left the store as fast as possible before something more embarrassing would happen. He had already forgotten how cold outside was but he didn’t care. It actually felt quite nice against his now red and hot face.

Jin walked back to his apartment and went to the kitchen to set his groceries. He was still cold so he brew a cup of coffee and sat down on his sofa. He couldn’t help but think about the embarrassing accident in the shop and the mysterious boy he had never seen before. Was he new here? Why hasn’t he never seen him before? These questions twirled in Jin’s mind until they were broke by a doorbell sound. He walked to the door and he had barely even opened the door when a body charged in and pushed him aside.

“Hi Jinnie hyung where were you? I tried to come here earlier but you didn’t answer the door.” It was Kim Taehyung, he should have known. He was one of his closest friends who lived in the same building as him just a floor upper.

“How many times have I said don’t call me Jinnie, and I was at the store” Jin thought for a moment should he tell his friend what happened but he knew if he told this Tae would never let him live it down especially if he told about the boy he bumped into.

“Ah explains. Did you buy anything good? Candy? Chocolate? Soda?” Jin automatically groaned when his friend said the word. He knew he had to tell the story to somebody or he might explode and now his dear friend was the only closest one.

“Don’t even say that”

“What? Candy? Why?” Taehyung looked at him confused.

“Not candy but..*sigh* I did something really stupid today at the store and it was really embarrassing.” He started his story but it was for some reasons hard to talk about even though it was just a small accident that wasn’t completely his fault. Taehyung waited that his friend would continue because he knew if talked now Jin maybe wouldn’t tell the story at all.

“I was just normally getting my groceries and can I point out I was freezing because I didn’t have a beanie or gloves with me. But whatever I was checking the shopping list that I had written on my phone until I bumped to somebody who dropped couple of bottles to the ground.” Jin covered his face out of embarrassment that he felt going through the memory again and telling it to somebody else.

“That’s it? You bumped into somebody who dropped few bottles? Big deal.”

“No you don’t understand. They were pressured bottles when they hit the ground they splashed all over the floor. And the boy I bumped into just walked away and left me alone to deal with the problem.” His friend looked at him for a while feeling little bit petty for him as he knew his friend was really easily embarrassed, until he remembered his friend mentioning a boy.

“Who was the boy somebody you know?”

“Yeah because I usually imply people who I know as somebody.”

“Well was he cute? Handsome?” His friend asked again not even phased about Jin’s sarcastic comment.

“I didn’t see him clearly.” Jin obviously lied he thought he was really cute but he couldn’t say that because it Tae. Jin knew that he would jump into conclusion straight away.

“Ah really. That’s why your face is completely red?” Tae said smiling knowingly. Jin covered his face quickly and by that time he knew he was caught.

“What did he look like tell me maybe I know him and can hook you up.” He said rising his eyebrows up and down suggestively.

“No Tae. No. And I don’t believe you know him either. He has black hair, big eyes, he was wearing today a black beanie and a hoodie and I think he had black ripped jeans.”

“And you didn’t see him clearly. Hah! You were fully checking him out.” Taehyung started laughing.

“Shut up. I just have good memory that’s all.”

“Well you have to see first to remember.” Jin threw a sofa cushion at his friend who was just laughing harder at his friend.

“Okay okay. I stop but he does remind me of the boy who moved here couple days ago. I saw him when I came down the stairs here I think he was wearing something along those lines” Taehyung started to think about the boy who he saw and he was all the time more sure that he was wearing exactly those clothes.

“Who moved? When? Why I didn’t know about this?”

“Well first of all I did tell you. You just didn’t listen your dear friend like usually. But yeah he lives almost next to me. He moved around maybe two three days ago.” Jin was in his thoughts and he felt how his heart started to beat harder in his chest as he thought about that if the boy was him who Tae thought, he would be living in the same building above him right now.

“Let’s go and see” Taehyung was already going, until Jin grabbed his hand stopping him.

“We can’t just go knocking on his door: “Hey are you the man who I bumped into? Oh apparently you are. Well goodbye” that doesn’t make any sense.”

“Believe I have a plan.” his friend smiled mischievously at him and ripped him out of the door. They were now in the corridor and they needed to climb up the stairs and that’s when Jin got really scared. What if it actually was him? What am I gonna do? Am I going to ask him to pay me back? No I can’t do that. That would be really rude. But so was he when he left. All these thoughts were flying in his head and he hadn’t even notices that Tae had dragged him already to the third floor and now they were standing in front of maybe the boy’s door.

“What is your plan?” Jin asked nervously.

“Knock the door and make a run for it” Tae smiled his really big smile at him.

“That’s your plan? I’m going back. This is stupid.” Jin was already walking away when he heard the door being opened. Maybe he was talking just little bit too loud.

“You. What are you doing here?” Jin heard the familiar voice. And as he turned around he only saw him, Taehyung had ran off to his own apartment. That little brat. Just wait that I catch you. Jin swore in his mind.

“Are you here because of the sodas?” that wasn’t really the reason why Jin was there but what would be better explanation? He and his friend just wanted to see if he was the boy he bumped into when he was at the store because he thought the boy was or is really cute. That wasn’t even an option. So Jin just answered as quickly as he could.

“Yes.”

“I’m not paying you back. You were the one who bumped into me and not the other way around.” the boy said with a straight face all the time.

“What? Excuse you, but they were your sodas” Jin’s nerves were on edge. How could this boy be so rude? Especially to a stranger who is probably older than him. He thought frustrated.

“But you were the one who didn’t watch where you were going.”

“Well I’m sorry about that. But that doesn’t mean you should act like a self-centered brat”

“A self-centered brat?”

“Yes, you heard right. I know that you were frustrated but that doesn’t mean you can talk down on me and humiliate me especially when I’m older than you.”

“And how do you know that?”

“I see it on your face. But whatever I’m going to be the adult here and not ask for my money back. But know that, the next time if something like this happens, don’t leave the other alone to deal with it when the situation is embarrassing enough. You don’t need to make it worse.” And then Jin flew back into his apartment and locked the door without even taking a glance back at the boy. He was fuming of anger and embarrassment but he also felt pleased with himself. He like he could make the boy little speechless at end or maybe it was just that he left so quickly but whatever at least he told him what he wanted to and now he can relax.

--------------------

It was a rainy day. Not a small rain but a full out heavy rain and Jin again wasn’t prepared for it. He had left for a walk to clear his mind until he had been walking so long that it had started raining. Now he was running to find a shelter where he could wait for the worst pour to stop. And quickly he found a coffee shop where he could go sit for a while. He ordered a coffee and waited while staring the falling rain from the window. He saw a figure running without an umbrella trying to cover his head with his hands. Oh poor thing he is probably freezing. Jin couldn’t think about it long when the waitress brought him his coffee and an umbrella.

“Thank you. But um, I’m sorry but that umbrella isn’t mine.”

“Somebody asked me to give it to you.” the waitress said and left it there next to him. Who the heck left him an umbrella? Well whoever it was Jin was thankful as he could now dry off and then walk home with the umbrella covering him. When he arrived to his apartment he started to unlock the door when he saw the boy completely wet from the rain. Jin first felt little bit bad for the boy but then he remembered their talk yesterday and just went inside his apartment.

Jin laid on his bed for a while, he was on his phone, listened some music, tried to watch funny videos, but nothing stopped him from thinking about the certain boy living above him. He was confused why he was thinking about him so much. Maybe because he was so rude little brat who thought he was a prince or something or maybe because he was so cute and looked so innocent with his big eyes. Well whatever it was Jin couldn’t stop thinking about him and that is why he decided to go visit his friend upstairs. Jin opened his front door and carefully checked outside just in case the dark haired neighbour would be there. Gladly he wasn’t there, and Jin continued his way upstairs. He knocked on the door and soon it was opened by Jimin surprisingly.

“Hi hyung! Come on in.” Jimin opened the door wider so Jin could walk in, and he could straight away smell the pizza and hear the yells of frustration. He walked in the further in the apartment and saw his friend swearing at the game where his character was slowly but surely losing the battle.

“Noooo!” he fell on the floor dramatically as he his character died and the tv screen almost mockingly flashed “Game over”.

“Am I interrupting something?” Jin asked eyebrows raised in amusement.

“Ah hyung! No of course not. I was just quitting as the game is stupid.” his friend said sulking as Jimin laughed at him.

“That’s what you get for killing me. I could have helped you but you decided to act that way so here you are.”

“I told you it was an accident!” Tae said while crossing his arms.

“Whatever.” Jimin rolled his eyes. “So what’s up hyung?” he asked while jumping on the sofa.

“Um nothing much.” Jin started to think should he tell Jimin about the boy living next door. He didn’t think here would be somebody else beside Taehyung. And don’t get him wrong Jimin was a great friend but Taehyung’s teasing was tiring enough on it’s own.

“So was he the same boy?” Taehyung asked even before Jin could decide does he want to talk about it.

“What boy? What have I missed?” Jimin asked straight away fixing his posture. Jin silently glared his friend but he knew there is nothing else to do but tell the whole story because Jimin wouldn’t let it slide. Jin explained the whole story from the start, but he stopped talking when it came to the part where he met the boy again..

“So..? Was it him?” Tae asked pushing Jin to go on, Jimin also looked very curious.

“Yes. Yes he was” Jin answered while covering his face.

“How did it go? Did you get a date?” Jimin asked his voice full of excitement.

“What? No! Why would I want a date with him? He is obviously a stupid teenager who thinks everything goes as he says.” you could almost see the smoke coming from his ears.

“Wow...didn’t you think he was cute?” Tae asked confused by his friends behaviour.

“Well yeah I thought until yesterday evening when he opened the door and thought I was there to get my money back.”

“Did you tell him you weren’t there because of it?” now it was Jimin’s time to ask.

“No...I panicked okay! It was so sudden and really it all was Taehyung fault.” Jin pointed at his friend accusingly.

“What how is it my fault?”

“If you hadn’t have so bad plan maybe he wouldn’t have caught me by surprise and I wouldn’t have said those stupid things.”

“Wait what did you say?”

Jin rubbed his neck awkwardly as he remembered his rude words.

“Well. I just. Called him a self-centered brat. But that is what he is. I was only stating facts.” he quickly tried to defend himself as his friends were giving him judging looks.

“What don’t look at me like that. Okay I maybe feel little bit bad, but I can’t just go to him now that: “Hey sorry about yesterday what if we forget about it completely?” it doesn’t work like that.”

“And why not? What else can you really do? And if he is cute maybe you could hook up later”

“Oh after just called him a self-centered brat I will ask him out?” his friends nodded simultaneously and Jin looked at them in disbelief.

“Just ask that can you repay him by a cup of coffee or something” Jimin suggested.

“How about no. He is the one who should pay.”

“But you were the one who called him a self-centered brat.”

“But you know how easily I get embarrassed. What happened in the store was terrible. Everybody was just staring at me and whispering something to each other.”

“I know I know. But it will be better that way believe me.” Jimin said putting a hands on his friend’s shoulders and pushing him towards the door.

“What? You want me to go now? No way!” Jin tried to get out of his friend’s hold.

“Yes you are going now. The sooner the better.” Tae said behind Jimin and helped him to push Jin out of the door and leading him to the next door. Jimin knocked on the door and just as they heard steps inside the apartment closing, they let go of Jin and ran to Taehyung’s own apartment, quickly mouthing fighting to their terrified friend who was still standing in front of the door in a shock. Jin almost ran away but he was stopped when he heard the familiar voice again. But he sounded more surprised than annoyed.

“What are you doing here?”

“Well hi to you too.” Jin stop. Try to be friendly. He tried to smile at the other but it came out rather forced and he looked more like he needed to go to the bathroom.

“I mean, hi. Um..I was thinking..no. I mean, I wanted to ask...um.” the boy watched him and waited for him to say his matter, but it was taking him a really long time. And just as he was about to say something Jin finally started speaking.

“I’m sorry.” the other looked surprised by Jin’s words and Jin took that as a que to continue.

“I shouldn’t have said what I said. I was the one who was acting really bratty, but I couldn’t help it I felt so humiliated that I just had to blame somebody for it and you happened to be there so that is why I said those things. I’m sorry.” the other was quiet for a moment but then he started to laugh quietly. Almost like giggle. Jin was confused what was so funny. Why was the boy suddenly laughing.

“You’re cute” he said between his laughing and that is what got Jin completely puzzled. But he was also blushing.

“What..what do you mean?”

“I wasn’t even offended by that. I hear that from my friends all the time.” he said after calming down.

“But.” It took awhile for Jin to comprehend that one the boy was completely okay what had happened and two...

“I don’t even know why am I apologizing” the boy again just watched him with a grin amused by the boy in front of him.

“You were the one who...and I..Park Jimin and Kim Taehyung when I catch you I swear.”

“I’m sorry to interrupt you, but why are you here apologizing if you don’t even want to?”

“That’s a good question. Now if you excuse me I have a task to deal with.”

“Wait. I’m...sorry for my behaviour. I know I acted, like you said, a self-centered brat. I didn’t think much but I just wanted to escape the situation as fast as I could, because the owner is actually my friend’s crush and he was trying to hook up with him and he would have killed me if he knew it was me again who stopped his flirting session.”

“Again?”

“Ah, well it isn’t exactly first time that I’ve done something wrong. So I thought I could blame you, but I didn’t think how wrong it was. I’m truly sorry.”

“But why did you act like a jerk even later when I saw you?” all these questions twirling in his head were giving him a slight headache as he tried to figure out the boy in front of him.

“You see, he was with at the time, so I just had to shoo you away as fast as I could.” that’s it. Jin was all the time convinced he was a brat but apparently he is just a scared of his own friend?

“Is your friend that scary?”

“If you just knew the rage of Min Yoongi even you would have acted quickly.”

“Min Yoongi?”

“Yes, you know him?”

“Yeah, he’s one of my best friends. How come I’ve never heard of you?”

“Well as you know I just moved here to live alone as I lived with my parents before. And I never really hang out with him that much because I lived far away.”

“Okay. Maybe I understand why you did it Yoongi can be quite violent.” Jin laughed thinking about his friend angry.

“Anyway, could I somehow repay you? Maybe treat you something?” the boy watched him hopefully like he wanted him to say yes.

“I don’t even know your name.”

“Oh yeah sorry. I’m Jeon Jungkook.”

“I’m Kim Seokjin. And I would love to grab a coffee sometime.”

“Great maybe this saturday at 1 p.m. in the coffee shop that is just around the corner? I can come to pick you up if you want me to.” Jungkook said grinning from ear to ear.

“Okay then. Just knock on my door I will answer.” Jin said having just as wide smile on his face.

“See you then!” Jungkook said and stepped inside his apartment.

“Yeah see you.” Jin answered back and waved at the other then walking down the stairs to his own apartment. He heard the other closing his door and he almost squealed out of excitement. He can’t believe he actually just got a date with the cutie he hated. Or hated before or thought he hated or he doesn’t know and it doesn’t matter to him. Also he couldn’t believe they were both friends with Yoongi yet they had never seen each other before. That’s strange. Jin thought but didn’t think it any further as he just was too happy.

In the other apartment.

“Well did you get a date?” a voice asked.

“Yes not thanks to your plan. Why did you think acting cold would have helped me? He just got really angry. Gladly I blamed you for my behaviour and he believed it completely.” he said to his friend Yoongi who was sitting on the couch.

“What can I say it has always worked fine when I have used it. And what exactly did you say about me?”

“That because the owner of the store was your crush, you didn’t want me to mess things up. So when I did I panicked and said those harsh things.” Jungkook said proud of his acting.

“And he bought that? He is fooled so easily.” Yoongi snorted and continued watching the show on the TV.

In reality Jungkook had known Jin for a longer time that he actually thought. First time Jungkook saw him was in one of Yoongi’s party. Jungkook had asked Yoongi who he is. And when Yoongi had answered he said Jungkook should act little tough and hard to get so that Jin would start to like him after he saw his manly side.. But it didn’t exactly go to the plan. As him dropping the bottles wasn’t supposed to happen but he just tried his friend’s advice and acted little rude and hard to get that also didn’t work. And when Jungkook tried it again when he met him at his front door, he noticed that this definitely wasn’t making Jin like him but more like dislike him. Then he decided to act like his instinct told him to and now we are here. He got a date. Not sure does Jin like him but at least he doesn’t dislike him that much anymore. But all this should be a story to tell Jin later on.

Decided to write some Jinkook fluff, because there's never enough fluff ;) But really hope you enjoyed this and comment if you have something on your mind. I am not a native speaker so there might be some errors though I tried my best. ^.^

Chapter 3: Aww this is super cute!!

Stupid assumptions aren’t always good haha

I really liked Namjoon. He’s so civilized and nice and a good friend to Jin and the rest.

Does he and Yoongi have something though or would have at least? I mean I kind of felt a subtle “ship sailing” through their interactions haha

Cute story anyway! Thanks :)
