Yoongi should’ve told him sooner. He was truly being unfair to Taehyung by not telling him the things he should’ve said the moment the other opened his arms, welcoming him without any hesitation in his being. Taehyung didn’t ask but he should’ve told him nonetheless. Taehyung had the right to know what he was entering into; the things that he could expect once he begins his journey with Yoongi.

Now, the fact that he’s standing in front of the place he promised not to return to leaves a bitter taste in his mouth. He doesn’t want to, but he needs to. Yoongi swallows, trying to calm his beating heart by muttering words of encouragement to himself, it was futile but he still tried. The gates opened for him without having to announce his arrival, besides, seeing him is enough for them to allow him entry.

Yoongi walked into the estate with an air of confidence that he naturally exudes, he was trying so hard to tamp down the anxiety that’s building inside his stomach for every step that he takes towards the main door of the mansion. When he was a few feet away from the door, he took one big breath before said door opened to reveal the familiar interior of the mansion; there were changes, but it still felt the same.

“Welcome home, Master Yoongi, it’s been a while”

“Yeah, it’s been a while, Hoseok-ah.”

Hoseok, the Min family’s trusted butler and Yoongi’s childhood friend, smiled all the same albeit a bit dimmed by the fact that the last time he saw him was two years ago. He has the right to feel a bit bitter, Yoongi supposes, because he decided to leave him despite the latter’s incessant pleas for him not to.

“What brought you here, Master?” It sounded innocent but Yoongi could tell that there’s an underlying tone of resentment, because of course, what is he even doing here in the first place?

“Ah, visiting, I guess” was Yoongi’s cool reply, but the dread inside of him seem to grow further with Hoseok’s next words

“Master Min has been waiting for you” for two years were the unspoken words, Yoongi only nodded, figuring that now’s not the time to talk to Hoseok about their own issues “he’s inside the music hall”

“right” and with that, Hoseok bowed in respect before turning to leave, probably to prepare their tea

Yoongi sighs in resignation, before willing himself to move from his spot

I have to do this. I have to do this for Taehyung’s sake.
