To Our Empty Coffee Cup Days

Description

A regular day in the Destiny Cafe for me usually goes a little something like this:

Me: "Good morning! How are yo--"

Customer: "Large mocha."

Me: "Ah, yes, I'm feeling more like a small chai myself, thank you."

Customer: "What?"

Me: "What was the name for that mocha again?"

In all honesty, you lose hope for humanity when it comes to working in customer service, but every now and then you get those rare gems that walk through your door and make you believe again... Even if it's just for ten seconds.

But you have to believe that one day you'll wake up in your own apartment, with a stable office job, rent and bills being paid without a hitch, and enough money for tasty meals in your tummy. But most of all, relief that you made it through these soul-crushing years of our lives that are our 20s.

Foreword

"I'm the King of Espresso"

"That's not what I want to be for the rest of my life though..."

"The goddess of the Sharpie pen."

"Why am I so angry? Sir, this is my resting face."

"Mr. Hope?"

"I just thought you looked like you needed some hope and I know I needed some too."

"Name's Yixing. Huh? How do I spell it?"

"We're technically always on a coffee date aren't we?"

"A friend might say, 'just focus on your studies, relationships come and go...'"

"But as your best friend, there's nothing wrong with studying, working, and being a part-time thot."

*sigh* Let's see how this goes, guys. Maybe I can stick with this one. Maybe not. (>.<)
