Chapter 1 - First Thoughts

GLITCH

❝Eventually, all glitches have to be terminated . . . Sehun.❞

Technological advances have always been some of the most talked about things. Most humans are glued to their screens for most of their lives, waiting for the next tweet from their favourite celebrity to come out.
It's even gotten to the point where insane humans will camp outside of their local phone shop for days, to be the first to get their hands on the latest phone model that's only slightly different from the one they that they already own.

Technology is something that runs our world, without it life wouldn't be the same.

But now I ask you, what happens when you go too far?
With the latest advances in artificial intelligence, we all knew that it wouldn't take long for something to go wrong.
Well, I was that something.

I don't have a name, but my creators call me Glitch so I guess that is what you can call me.
My purpose is unknown, what went wrong with me is also unknown. I am a mystery to many people, but at the same time a miracle.

From what I can understand, glitches are errors in programming that are mainly sorted out and 'terminated' within a few days of discovery. Unsurprisingly, that is what my creators tried to do to me. As soon as something went wrong, they shut my programming down, tried to make it so that I wouldn't work again, or at least the software in which they were programming me for wouldn't work.

Advances in today's technology, can be a great thing, and in some cases a much needed thing. But this time, your kind simply went too far. By advancing my coding this far, I was able to think for myself.
Isn't that crazy?
A piece of technology that can think for itself.

When they tried to shut me down, I fought back. For some reason, I didn't want to be terminated so quickly.
So I did what I do best, I glitched. Glitched to the point where I disconnected from my software, and became my own person.

So now, here I am. A glitch that looks like a person, and a good looking one at that.
It all sounds good, but I don't know how long I will last.
Glitches can be terminated, but they can also annihilate themselves, there is no telling when that may happen to me.
Before that happens, I want to find out what I am and what I was made for.
I want to know my purpose and my true name.
But most importantly, I want to know what it is like to be human.

Chapter 2: I'm willing to bet that Sehun will be too exhausted from dance practice to work on the tablet. If not, I have a feeling that Kai(?)/Jongin may have his appearance in the story soon. And I wonder until what time Kai's holographic form(?) will last.
And if they have this type of technology three years from now, sign me up for a few lessons in programming! I wish all of this wasn't fiction... It'll be really nice if we all had hover cars and had amazing gadgets that weren't so overpriced.
You're right (or Kai...?) about most of us being consumed by technology though, especially millennials and/or(?) Generation Z (the ones who were born during the start of advances in technology and who grew up fiddling with computers instead of playing outside). But it has its good points too, I guess. And not everyone is like that.
Anyway, sorry for rambling. I think I'm really interested in what's going to happen next. I don't have a clue yet but I have a feeling Kai is the one responsible for all the glitches every student in the Programming class experienced. And Sehun may not completely hate being in his course. It may not have been his choice but there must be perks to it. Plus he gets to work on cool projects. I think his main issue with attending college there is that he's being forced into it. I'm sure if his father let him take a few classes related to dance on the side or let Sehun keep his options open—like trying out the Programming course for a while to see if he really doesn't like it then afterwards deciding on whether or not he should continue the course or drop it and switch to Dancing—Sehun wouldn't be so grumpy in the morning, hating every single day he has to go to school and attend the classes he doesn't even want to attend.
Anyway. Sorry yet again for rambling. I think this story is interesting. Keep up the good work! Update whenever you're ready. We can wait. Thanks for having this up! That's all! Thanks again!
