Don't Let Me Go - an Addicted (Heroin) Fanfiction

“Hello, who is this?” Jingyu answered.

“Baby, it’s me. Come back home. I miss you.” The woman on the other side of the line responded.

Jingyu was not shocked. In fact, he was expecting that she would call him because it has been a week since they broke up. When they were still dating, they would fight and then make up one week later which is their limit. And they would eventually forget all of it like it never happened. It works with their relationship at first because Jingyu has always been the forgiving type.

But the moment he witnessed his now ex-girlfriend making out with another man at the park in broad daylight, he couldn’t take it. That was his last straw. He was forgiving but he’s not stupid either. He knows when to stop and he knows when someone is just using him. Maybe he was just blinded by the fact that she loved that woman and decided to forgive anything she’d do even if it’s too much. But betraying his trust has been too much for him. It was unfair for her to treat him like that because all that she ever received from Jingyu was nothing but pure trust and unconditional love.

Yet in the end, he still got betrayed. By the woman he trust very much at that.

“Baby, why are you not picking up my calls and not answering my emails?”

Jingyu did not answer.

“I had to replace my phone number just to reach you. And you still won’t talk to me.”

Jingyu, still stayed quiet.

“Baby, please come back home.”

No response.

“I missed you, baby.”

“Don’t ever call me that!” Hearing her call him ‘baby’, Jingyu lashed out.

“Don’t you dare call me like I owe you, you owe me!

Don’t you ever call me like I’m still your boyfriend because I’m not!

I left Shanghai because I don’t want to see your lying face ever again you hear me?

You and me… We’re done!”

With that, Jingyu hanged up and then threw his phone into the direction he previously walked at. But he was shocked that instead of his phone going to pieces on the ground, Weizhou was at the trajectory of the throw and managed to catch the phone.

“Nice throw.” Weizhou joked.

Seeing Jingyu was furious and just had a phone call with someone he does not want to talk to, Weizhou just practically joked. He knows that there will always be the right time for everything. Like the last time on the ferry boat that instead of asking Jingyu why he ran away from Shanghai, he told him his own reason. He knows that forcing something out of someone is not the right thing to do, and it’s the same as cornering someone into talking.

Jingyu did not see Weizhou as he catches the phone but he turned around hearing his voice.

Looking at his phone at Weizhou’s hands, Jingyu was quite impressed because he knew he threw it hard and seeing that Weizhou casually caught it he can’t help but be impressed by his deed. But Jingyu was still a little down because of what is he reminded of seeing his phone on Weizhou’s hands.

“I believe this is yours.” Weizhou hands the phone to Jingyu but Jingyu just stared at it.

“Please keep it for me. For now.” Jingyu said.

“Alright.” Weizhou responded.

Jingyu and Weizhou went back to where they left the fish buckets and then walked back quietly to the orphanage. They placed the fish buckets in the pantry and the Sister who manages the pantry happily received them and then gutted the fishes clean.

Jingyu told Weizhou that he would just take a walk outside. Weizhou just nodded and also went back to the mini library where he was before joining Jingyu towards the fish pond.

During his free time, he would always go here to read or if he feels inspired, he would write poems all over his journal.

Weizhou hummed for a few minutes and then started writing again. This time he wrote a piece of poem about a friend being angry at the world, and about how he is just here waiting for that boy to open up to him.

Like what is happening to Weizhou and Jingyu right now.

Weizhou is just waiting for Jingyu to open up to him.

It was dinner time and what the Sister who manages the kitchen cooked steamed fish and vegetables.

The supper was extremely good. Because both the fish and the vegetables are fresh. But Weizhou did not see Jingyu at the dining room.

After the dinner, some kids came up to him and asked him about how big cities look like and Weizhou just told them that big cities are nice but the spectacular views here in the villa is better than life at the city. Weizhou waited for another half an hour and Jingyu still did not went to the dining room so he took a food tray and then filled it.

“Are you going for seconds brother Weizhou?” A sister asked him.

“No, it’s for Brother Johnny. I think he’s sick so I’m bringing dinner to him.” Weizhou explained.

“Oh is that it? Then if he’s really sick, get some medicine at the infirmary, okay?

“I’ll do that, thank you.”

With a filled food tray in his hands, Weizhou went up the villa to go to his shared room with Jingyu. Weizhou has been out all day and he’s sure he never saw Jingyu outside so he probably went straight here when he told Weizhou that he’s going for a walk. Weizhou knew that maybe Jingyu needed some time alone so he didn’t come to talk to Jingyu all day. As he opened the room, he saw Jingyu facing down on his pillow.

“Room service for Brother Johnny.” Weizhou jokingly stated.

“I’m not hungry.” Jingyu said while still facing down on his pillow so his voice sounded muffled.

“I don’t believe you’re not hungry. So stand up and put your lazy bum in here.” Weizhou commanded Jingyu.

Jingyu tilted his head towards Weizhou and involuntary smelled the food in the tray that Weizhou is holding. Then suddenly, Jingyu’s stomach grumbled.

“If that is not the sound of hunger then I don’t know what is.” Weizhou joked.

Then Jingyu hurriedly stood up and then took the food tray on Weizhou’s hands.

“Thank you.” Jingyu said.

“You’re welcome.” Weizhou replied.

Jingyu then placed the food tray on the breakfast table and then stared eating. Weizhou took the chair across Jingyu and watched him as he eat.

Jingyu finished the whole thing and the only thing that’s left was the fish bones.

“You want seconds? Wait up I’ll get it for you.” Weizhou said and then stood up.

But even before Weizhou could make a step he was halted by Jingyu’s familiar hands. It was just like the last time when this exact hand has halted him from crying.

Jingyu stood and then pulled Weizhou into a hug.

“Thank you.” Jingyu said while holding Weizhou into his embrace.

“For what?” Weizhou confusedly asked.

“Don’t ask.” Jingyu replied.

“Okay.”
