Chpt. 6

“Is it okay if I fall in love with you?”

The question rang in Irene’s ears as a mix of disbelief and a tinge of happiness grew evident as a smile began to form

“Um what was that. What are you saying?” She asked trying to hide her giddiness

“I’m saying I like you Irene, and I’m falling in love with you” Jiyong spoke sincerely “Is it okay for me to fall in love with you?”

Irene smiled and gently pecked his lips causing Jiyong to go wide-eyed with shock as he stood there speechless.

“Only if I’m allowed to love you too” she happily answered before shyly running inside

Jiyong stood still as the slow process of the current events slowly began to catch up to him as he attempted to make sense of things. And as the realization hit, his stunned expression transformed into a sweet smile before following her in. He caught up in no time and wrapped the petite lady in a tight back hug while gently pecking her cheek. “Ahhhh it’s comfortable here” Jiyong exclaimed laying his head on her shoulder before looking at her

Irene just giggled and lay back into his embrace “The feeling of your arms, it’s nice”

Jiyong smiled loosening his grip allowing her to turn around. The two faced each other exchanging loving gazes as their smiles only left when he leaned into kiss her sweetly, with her receiving and kissing back in a warm air of sweet tender love filling the house.

The next morning, Jiyong woke up early as usual and headed out however with a brighter expression than usual, not that it was difficult to have a brighter expression seeing as his face was usually a blank canvas that seemed to have very little feeling. This was noted when Seulgi and Wendy arrived for their shift when their initial response when Jiyong gave them a soft small smile when he greeted them back was to freeze, then slowly look to each other and simultaneously ask each other “Did he just…… smile?”

“ahem begin work ladies” Jiyong muttered behind them to snap them out of their daze

Shortly after, before the café would officially open, Irene walked into the café with a small plate of baked goods the four would share for breakfast. Irene was bright and happy as usual, but there was a new aura and glow surrounding her, the aura of a women in love. And that surely did not go unnoticed by Wendy and Seulgi

“So~~ Unnie what happened after we left?” Wendy prodded

“Yeah please tell us?” Seulgi egged on

“Um. Ah…. Nothing really” Irene tried to deny going faintly red thinking back

“She’s starting to blush!!!” Wendy exclaimed

“Ohhhhh something did happen” Seulgi added

“Tell us tell us tell us pleaseeeee” they both fired away only to be ended by a very blunt male voice

“We kissed” causing Irene to sigh and blush while the other two looked shocked and then squealed like fangirls at a fan meet

“Heol~ Daebak” Wendy let out

“It finally happened” Seulgi breathed out

The both then went slightly blank causing Irene to wave her hands in front of the two of them ‘Kids kids kids… please snap out of it and start to work. The café will open soon”

And so, they day went on as per usual, only Jiyong was a little more affectionate when helping Irene, which did mean Wendy and Seulgi took those chances to tease their poor boss. Irene didn’t mind at this point. To her this was the happiest she had been in possibly her entire life, she had friends she generally could trust and love and was living life by her own terms, all with the support of one person she would give her heart away to. The same went for Jiyong, 1000 years of a cold lonely life finally saw some solace. He no longer cared much about that would happen, he would enjoy the time he had with Irene.

The days were looking up….. but they did not notice in the distance, peering eyes set on destroying this happiness
