I  t wasn't a good time for anyone when Kim Chae Young was on the war path.

Trainees and staff members alike are quick to get out of her way as she storms down the halls of BigHit, a memo gripped in her hand and a vicious scowl on her features.

A few brave interns in need of her signature try to get her attention, but she brushes right past them, not even registering their feeble requests, her focus set completely on her goal.

She pushes open the CEO's door after one short rap to indicate her arrival.

Bang Si Hyuk looks up, momentarily surprised but then relaxing into a welcoming smile.

"Afternoon Chae Young-ah, I wasn't expecting to see you today! Don't you have some final budgetary concerns for the WINGS concert to clean up?"

Chae Young tosses the memo in front of the CEO. "As happy as I am to hear that you actually listen to me during staff meetings, that doesn't get you out of having to explain what the hell this is supposed to be." She points aggressively towards the memo, and the CEO glances at it before looking back up at her.

"Well, as it so happens we're a little short staffed at the moment." Si Hyuk says, as if that explains everything.

Chae Young narrows her eyes. "So hire someone." She replies, pointed but still mostly polite despite her frustration.

Si Hyuk looks at her imploringly. "Chae Young," His voice is steady and serious as he addresses her, "You know I let you do what you think is best for the most part. I have complete faith in your skills and you decisions. And that is why I need you running this group."

Chae Young remains unimpressed. "You know I have little interest in flattery sir. I require further elaboration than that. You're demoting me and I want a reason why."

Si Hyuk looks surprised. "Demoting? I'm not demoting you at all. Didn't you are the pay raise portion?"

Chae Young sighs. "Of course I did, it's my job to notice the numbers. But you have to understand that being moved from head of finances to a manager for a group feels like a step down." She finally sits down in the chair across from the CEO, resting folded hands on his desk.

Si Hyuk nods. "I suppose I didn't completely think this through before sending you that memo did I?"

Chae Young merely raises an eyebrow, her expression one of exasperated agreement.

The CEO chuckles. "It's not a demotion. I need someone extremely smart with numbers on this group. I've got big plans for them but budget wise it could get quite complex."

Chae Young nods slowly. "You probably should have put that in the memo."

Si Hyuk shrugs with mild apology. "It's still an ongoing project idea, so there aren't many exact details at this point. I'm hoping to work with you on those matters but I know you have to worry about the tour right now so we'll speak further on this matter once you're not as busy."

Chae Young nods and stands. "Very well. Don't think we're done talking about this though, I haven't accepted the job."

Si Hyuk chuckles as she leaves, as briskly as she had entered. "I would never think that."
