"You live here?" Chanyeol asked. The four boys stood just inside of a huge mansion, their jaws hitting the floor.
The mansion was about three stories high and looked a little like an Italian villa. It tall, white walls, made of stone. The back of the house opened up with tall columns to huge green fields. In the distance, the Mediterranean Sea was visible. Chloe and her new acquaintances were brought over to the Greek shore by Kai, who nearly collapsed upon their arrival. He recovered pretty quickly when he saw the size of the place. "Well, sort of," Chloe looked down shyly. "I own the place, but I haven't spent a lot of time here recently." No, I've been avoiding this place for almost two years now. "And you're sure this is safe?" Baekhyun asked her suspiciously. Chloe scoffed. He had no idea. "This place can hide a god. It will be fine to hold a few powerful demigods." "Are your parents okay with this?" Lay asked innocently, still completely disbelieving the place they were just offered. Chloe's mood darkened considerably at the mention of her parents. "They're out of the picture." She answered more harshly than she meant to. Lay turned to her, a sympathetic look replacing his astonished one. "Oh," was all he said and Chloe felt greatful that he didn't say anything else. She was also thankful that none of the boys shot her any looks of pity. They only looked down for a brief moment before they returned to admiring her house. Chloe realized that they had probably lost people as well and for a moment, she empathized with them. For just a second, they weren't powerful half-gods to her. They were just people, with a human part of them that felt loss just like everyone else. Then Baekhyun summoned a rainbow and the moment ended. These people were half gods, she reminded herself. They had powers that she had probably only seen the very beginning of. "Hey! Baekhyun!" A boy shouted the minute he appeared in the rainbow. He had bright, colorful hair and pale skin. His hair was being blown about by the wind. "Everything alright?" "Where are you?" Baekhyun muttered, ignoring his question. "Phoenix, Arizona, United States," he answered shooting the other boy a confused look. "Woah Pheonix? Of all of us, I'd expect to find Chanyeol there," Lay cut in from the side. The boy turned his attention to the orange haired guy. "Lay!" He called out excitedly to his friend, "You're there too? Where even is--," "Okay, listen up," Baekhyun cut him off. "Grab Chen and any stuff you guys have and get ready. Kai will be over to pick you guys up soon." "Wha--," the boy started to ask but the rainbow was already starting to dissolve. As soon as the call ended, Kai disappeared in another puff of black smoke. "Hey," Chanyeol called out, capturing Chloe's attention. "You're sure it's okay for all of us to stay here?" "Go right ahead," Chloe responded. "It's not like I have a use for most of this space." "Thanks, Chloe." Chanyeol gave her such a heartfelt smile, she worried she would melt for a second. She attempted to give a smile back. "Yeah no problem," she answered as she turned towards the kitchen. "There are rooms upstairs. Take whatever ones you want. Mine is down here. I'll be in the kitchen in case any of you get hungry." "Yes! Thank you so much!" Chanyeol exclaime
