On my way to work, I have my son with me on the bus. He’s not comfortable with the bus, but we had to use it today. My car was getting tuned up and it’s the only transportation option we had. 

“Cole, sshhh it’s okay. We won’t be on here long.” I try to calm him down.

He was currently crying his eyes out and I didn’t know what to do for the two year old. I held him close and his head. 

“It’s alright. Look, see? There is nothing to be afraid of.” I assure. 

With teary eyes, he looks around the bus sobbing. Until he caught eyes with the person across from us.
A man looks at him and smiles, it was an attractive smile. Cole sees it and stops crying, probably wondering who this person was. The man’s smile became silly and my son began to laugh. 
Once we got to our stop, I thank the stranger and Cole waves at him as we get off.

The two of us were at the grocery store when we hit a dilemma.

“Mommy, candy! Please can I have it?” Cole pleads.

“No you can’t, you already had a cupcake. No more sweets today.” I explain.

He didnt take it well cause as soon as I said no, he begins to tear up.

“I want it!!” He cries.

Next to us, a young man watches the exchange and shakes his head.

Cole and I went to the park to meet up with Soul. She needed a day out so I agreed to meet her there, Cole being excited to see his auntie.

“Remember sweetie, auntie Soul is pregnant so you have to be careful around her.”

“I know. I won’t hurt auntie.”

We arrive at the park and see her sitting at a bench. She waves at us and Cole runs up to her when we are closer.

“Cole! How are you cutie?” She gushed.

She hugs the the three year old as he giggles. I smile at the image and watch them play together.

“Oh, Deanna-ssi! Nice seeing you here.” I hear behind me.

Jihoon stood a few feet away with a happy yet confused look on his face.

“Hm? Jihoon-ssi! Hey!” I greet.

“Didn’t know you would be here. I see Cole is having a good time….with uh.” He cuts off.

“This is Soul, we came out here today to give her some fresh air. She needed some relaxation, especially with a baby on the way.” I smile fondly.

He looks more confused.

“Oh. Is…is she your partner?” He asks slowly.

“What? No! She’s Cole’s aunt. Her husband has been babying her and driving her crazy.” I laugh.

He blushes in embarrassment.

Jihoon walks over and sits next to the seven year old.

“Cole?”

“Yes hyung?”

“I need to ask you something, get your permission on it.” He says.

The boy looks at the older in wonder, his full attention on him.

“Permission? For what?”

Jihoon looks behind him to make sure Cole’s mother couldn’t hear.
“Well, may I take your mother on a date?”

“Like be her boyfriend?”

“Yes, like that.”

The child thinks for a moment.

“You are nice to her and she smiles a lot around you….You have my permission.” The boy nods.

Jihoon grins and hugs the boy.

“Thank you Cole, I’ll do my best to keep making her happy!” 

“Good!” The boy grins.

Alternate part that I thought of adding, but might not:

Cole playing in the backyard, sees Uncle Daesung watch his mom go into the house. The look on his face looked familiar. He runs over to him.

“Uncle Dae!” He calls out. 

“Hey buddy, come here.” Dealing grins.
He picks up the boy and sits him on his shoulders, his little legs hanging over his chest.

“I have a question uncle.”

“What do you want to know” Dae begins walking around the yard.
“Do you like mom?” Cole asks.
“Of course I do! She’s like a sister and best friend to me.” Daesung smiles.

“Do you like her how Jihoon hyung likes her?”
Daesung stops near the swings.
“What do you mean?”
“You look at her the same way he does. Like a boyfriend.” Cole shrugs.

“Oh….oh” Dae stutters.

Seunghyun and Daesung have Cole for the day while his mother was at work. They took the child around town and stopped at a near by ice cream shop. His and Seunghyun’s eyes lit up while Dae chuckles beside them.

“Come on Cole, let’s go mix some flavors together!” The oldest grins.

“Yeah!” The five year old cheers.
The two men order their cones and their nephews cone, watching him hold his double scoop carefully. The three sit at a table and begin to eat their treats.

“We should get mommy something from the mall, don’t you think so Cole?” Daesung suggests.

“Mhm! A dancing game, she wanted another one to play together.” The child tells.

“I remember Youngbae complaining about the lack of variety with those, we’ll get a couple.” Daesung nods.
Cole gives a toothy grin and continues to eat his ice cream, Seunghyun wiping his mouth after a few bites.
