A draft I wrote last year.

Apartment AU:
I’ve had this apartment for about a year now. Made new friends and met some interesting neighbors, five of them have been very generous as of late. 
When I moved in, they gave me only small gifts as a welcome. A card, cookies, small stuffed bear, a unique little trinket, and an invite to an art show. The last one lead up to became something I find funny still to this day when the gift giver run into each other at a gallery.
They all give me something that could use, like gloves when it gets cold or a CD they made, which I learned was from the youngest of the group. He really loves his face, all pictures of him are of him looking smug at the camera…
Then I would get items that they think I would like. Low budget recipes from the neighbor that gave me cookies my first day, hand made jewelry, and little notes. Some of the notes were the general “have a good day”, while others where asking how my day was to “wear a coat! It’s thirty degrees outside, Jesus!” which was promptly followed by a colorful coat when I would forget to wear one enough times. Another asking what anime do I like cause they saw me with a Gaara shirt on.
Late at night when I can’t sleep, I play my keyboard at low volume out on the balcony. I began to have an audience about a month into it. A young man would slip out to his balcony and lean on the railing to listen. He had swept back black hair that was messy from sleep. Another man would come out to the left of me, the sound of a lighter flickering made his presence known while I was playing. I caught a glimpse of him after I was done, his broad form leaving the balcony. 
Today I received three interesting gifts. One was a piano book wrapped in red paper, manga wrapped in blue gift wrap, and a painting of a rainy night wrapped in monochrome paper. A little note was attached to it.
