Kim Hanbin sat on the front porch of his father’s house. He watched as the rain soaked the grass and the wooden bench near the storage shed. He had been sitting there for over an hour and he couldn’t help but wonder about Bobby. Is he doing okay? Is he doing well for himself? Does he still think about him?

He closed his eyes as the sound of the rain pitter pattering began to bring him back to that fateful day when he met the man who changed his life forever.

He opened his eyes and he was now in sunny Jeju Island in the summer of 2014. It was a graduation gift from his parents and it was awesome. As he felt the sand getting in his Havaianas flip flops, a small smile crept on his face. He looked towards his right and saw the beautiful denim blue sea that fascinated him so much earlier in the plane ride when he was reading a brochure of the hotel his family was planning to stay at.

Suddenly he saw a young man probably a little older than he is emerging from the sea, like a merman. He was holding a net filled delicious looking sea delicacy that made Hanbin’s mouth water. He looked at him for a long time and couldn’t help but notice the muscles he had. If he stared a second longer, that would’ve been roadkill.

He saw the man walking towards him with a  smile on his face. “Are you from the city?” The boy asked. Hanbin nodded. Up close, Hanbin saw that the young man had really small eyes and strong facial features. Hanbin nodded and offered him a big smile.

The boy nodded. “Yeah, you look like you’re from Seoul.” He wiped his hands on his swimming gear and offered it to Hanbin. “I’m Bobby, by the way, it’s nice to meet you.”

Hanbin took the other boy’s hand and felt an electricity filled shock coursed through his body. “I’m Kim Hanbin, it’s really nice to meet you…” He smiled. “Bobby.”
