Waking up

Joohyuk rubbed his eyes and yawned when crying erupted from the baby monitor laying on the nightstand.

“I got her.” he assured Seohyun when she moved against him, slightly opening her tired eyes. She had been up with the baby last time their daughter woke up.

“You sure?”

He nodded and leaned down to kiss her cheek. “Just go back to sleep.”

Joohyuk pulled the cover off and made his way to the crib in the nursery, gently scooping the four weeks old up as she continued to wail.

“Hey, what’s got you so upset, huh?” he whispered, checking to see if she needed to be changed but her diaper was dry.

“Probably hungry though, aren’t you?” He got his answer a few seconds later and headed down to the kitchen to get a bottle. He pulled a small iron pot from the cabinet, pouring the milk into it to heat over the fire.

“Shh…shhh.. we just have to wait a bit.”
