A Businessman's Son

Description

Hey guys! So I've been really into business aus recently but the ones I read were all super angsty?¿ So I decided to try writing my own. The protagonist is female so I apologise if that's an inconvenience. All 12 members are included but will be introduced gradually as the chapters develop. Enjoy!

Foreword

An endless river of people flooded the busy streets of the city as currents dragged eager shoppers in and out of various buildings. Orange lanterns with pumpkin faces hung from the amber trees that dotted the large areas of pavement between roads as tourists snapped quick photographs of the ever-so-spooky decorations. A combination of scents filled the air as the sweet steam rising from oriental food vans spiralled into a beautiful duet in the atmosphere alongside American fast food shops that stood three stories high on the opposite street. With the cold autumn temperatures contrasting with the warm laughter that surrounded the city, an elegant figure dressed in a shirt and miniskirt stood alone amongst the array of people.

(Reader's POV)
----
It's bloody freezing. Why in the hell did I ever think it was a good idea to come into the freaking city dressed in an oversized shirt that hangs off my shoulders and a freaking miniskirt. Oh yeah. I did. But it'll be totally worth it when a cute guy offers me his coat- because that is extremely likely to happen. Sigh. What was I thinking? That some rich, handsome soon-to-be businessman would just stroll up to me, drape his coat along my shoulders and drive me home in his Lamborghini? In all fairness the money would be extremely convenient. Not to mention I'd finally have something to show off to the cousins, aunts and uncles that think I'm a completely lifeless loser. A girl can dream okay?

"Um, excuse me." A steady male voice came from behind me.
You know what'd be great right now? If this was that super rich guy I was just thinking about. I wonder if his wallet is as big as his di-

"Are you deaf?" The same voice spoke firmly.
As I turned around I was faced with an impatient and annoyed looking young man. He was dressed in a grey suit with his brown hair gelled back. Despite his agitated facial expression he was clearly extremely handsome.

"What?" I questioned boldly as I took in his appearance.

"You're in the way of the door. Nobody can get in if you're stood there and I have a very busy schedule. Can you please move?" Aside from his polite and articulate language the man spoke with the intention to be forceful and displayed an arrogance in his eyes as though I was an ant in comparison. With a muttered apology I stepped to the side of the building and the young man picked up his phone as he strolled into the designer shop, possessing dominance with each step he took.

"My apologies Mr Kim. As I was saying, the trip would only last a maximum of four days-"
The man's voice faded into the distance as he proceeded confidently walk in. I was about to leave before I noticed an equally smart grey umbrella laying on the floor. Hey maybe if I return his umbrella he'll pay me. Sure it's a little unlikely but I'm willing to test that theory.
As I casually walked after him he made a sharp turn, eradicating himself from my line of vision. Before I began to run I quickly realised that despite my relatively formal choice of clothing, I still didn't plan on attracting attention and being judged by the spoiled and rich customers that surrounded me. Instead, I settled for walking quickly. As he swerved round yet another corner I began to increase speed - is he some kind of athlete or something? He stepped onto the escalator with an assertive stride, an array of people following behind him. I hurriedly attempted to overtake the line when the lace to my shoe became caught in the metal, causing my foot to be pulled into the stairs and my balance to be cut off. Reaching my arms out in an attempt to shield myself from the rough surface of the escalators, my body began to fall backwards. However in contrast to the cold and painful surface I expected, two strong arms wrapped around my middle as I was brought into a warm embrace.

"I got you, little lady."
As I looked up from the arms of the stranger, his intense dark brown eyes bore into mine. Damn his eyebrows are better than mine. There wasn't a blonde hair on his head that stood out of place and his jawline could probably be used as a weapon. I could feel his breath on my face due to the lack of distance and his shoulders were so broad a plane could've landed on his back. For a moment he simply held me as we stared at each other, his gaze just as intense as my own. That is, until the damn escalators came to an end and the stranger quickly dropped to his knees in a struggle to pull my lace out. With the end approaching, he simply muttered a "forgive me" before taking my shoe off and picking me up bridal style, carrying me to the next floor in his arms. As he placed me down gently, I could see the lace of my shoe being forcefully fed into the moving staircase, in return tearing the centre and leaving me standing in one black laced shoe.

"I don't suppose you have a spare pair of those do you?" The stranger asked with a guilty look on his face.

"As a matter of fact I don't." I smiled as I replied, turning to face him. He his lips in thought before stepping towards me and offering me his arm.

"Allow me to make up for that." He spoke with a small smile on his lips, his kind eyes sparkling under the lights of the different brands surrounding us.

"Oh no you don't have to I can just-"

"I insist."

"But it wasn't your fault I should've been more carefu-"

"If you think I'm the kind of man to allow a perfectly beautiful woman to walk around a city wearing one shoe I'd be extremely offended." He interrupted. Leaving me speechless and blushing, he linked my arm into his as he directed us to the Chanel section, my eyes immediately widening at the name of the brand and my legs coming to a stop before we walked any further. The man turned to me in question and looked at me with concern.

"Look, s-sir"

"Call me Sehun."

"Um- look, Sehun I- I'm not the kind of person you think I am. I- I simply can't afford-" Sehun snorted and pulled me into the Chanel stand.

"Do I really look like that much of an today? First you think I'd leave you to hobble around in one shoe and now you expect me to make you pay for the pair of shoes I wanted to buy for you myself?" He removed his arm from mine and motioned for me to sit down in the velvet cushioned chair as he spoke to the assistant.

"Hello miss, what kind of shoe is it you will be purchasing today?" I turned to Sehun for help, in return he motioned to the rows of shoes that sat before me. My eyes yet again widened as I stuttered out a response.

"Um I- I'm not s-sure really. Which ones do you like?" I awkwardly asked the assistant. She seemed to understand my perspective as she glanced at Sehun who stood with an amused expression on his face.

"She'll take the flats on the left." He spoke confidently as though he knew every detail of the products. The assistant took my shoe size and quickly returned with a pair of navy blue flat shoes with a small white platform and the Chanel logo elegantly placed along the side in diamonds. The shoe was beautiful- and probably worth more than my life. Sehun kept an amused and delightful expression planted on his face as I proceeded to walk around the soft carpet to test the comfort. And damn were they comfortable. In comparison to the cheap black platforms I had on earlier, it felt like I was walking on clouds.

"You like them?" Sehun asked with twinkling eyes. I could only laugh in response as I looked in the mirror. His smile only broadened with my reaction as he took my hand and directed me to the counter. Taking out his credit card, he punched in the pin like it's what he'd been raised doing before removing his card and presenting a charming smile to the assistant. She seemed to blush just as much as I did before handing him the receipt and bidding us goodbye.

"You make a beautiful couple. Have a nice day." I blushed furiously.

"Oh no we're not a-"

"Thank you very much. Have a nice day miss." Sehun interrupted again, this time resting his hand on the small of my back and backing us away from the section of the shop.

"You really didn't have to do that, Sehun." He giggled softly, turning his head to face me and look directly into my eyes.

"You aren't familiar with the concept of a gentleman, are you?" He responded. Before I could utter out a reply we were stood at the front doors. The sky was a similar navy to the shoes however the diamonds that studded the sides seemed to out-shine the stars. We came to a stop as Sehun removed his hand from my back, taking out his car keys and asking me where I live.

"Ah I live a few miles away. It's okay I have a train ticket."

"You don't need it." He spoke firmly.

"Sehun I'm perfectly capable of getting the train home. I'll be fine don't worry."

"I never said I was worried about you. I spent a lot of money on those shoes and I know how dirty trains can be. I care a lot about money and if those get ruined, my money gets ruined."

"Oh.." I spoke softly.

"I'm kidding." He smiled.

"Those things practically scream 'mug me'. As well as that, I like you. I'd never turn down the opportunity to drive a beautiful lady home, and such is a rare occurrence. Where do you live?"

"You don't even know my name." I smiled as I looked down.

"You can tell me in the car."  He clicked the button on his car keys and my jaw immediately dropped. The lights to a white Lamborghini flashed twice as he strolled towards the passenger side of the car and opened the door. Did God hear me earlier or am I high right now? Sehun giggled at my expression and pulled me towards his car by my hand, the warmth of his skin contrasting with the cold night air. He closed the door behind me after I sat inside and slid into the drivers seat in a ridiculously smooth manner. He spared me a playful glance and a wink before revving the engine and setting off.

Sehun most definitely took the long route, allowing us to speak for over a half hour about our lives and backgrounds. I found out that his full name is Oh Sehun and he was the son of a rich businessman. He was second in line to his father's position after his brother Kris whom he described to mimic the appearance of an angrybird. In turn Sehun found out my name, making it sound like the most beautiful word he'd ever heard as he repeated it. However I shared little of my family background. Instead settling for my favourite foods and places, as well as various stories regarding my close friends and the mischief they often found themselves in, making him chuckle.

I pointed to the fancy hotel round the corner from the rough and working class area in which I lived, although it was a longer walk and the city can be dangerous at night, I didn't want Sehun to know that I lived in the upstairs of a Chinese supermarket with my best friend because my family abandoned me when I was 12. As his car came to a stop, Sehun told me to stay there while he got out and opened my door for me. Before I could say anything he placed my hand on his lips and kissed it gently.

"I hope to see you again." He spoke softly, still holding my hand delicately.

"I don't even know what to say." I replied as my cheeks burned under his intense gaze. His dazzling smile returned as he tilted his head and pulled me closer to him.

"You could say that you hope to see me again too." He muttered.

"I didn't think I could be that lucky." I stated. He slowly moved his face closer to mine, my eyes widening in the process as I could feel his breath on my face. He paused for a few seconds before replying.

"I'm the lucky one here." He whispered, the words hitting my face in a soft breeze. Before anything else happened he pulled away, letting go of my hand and bidding me goodbye.

As I watched his car disappear into the distance I began my journey home along the dark and empty streets. What in the actual hell just happened? Did I just dream everything or did the most beautiful man in existence just buy me Chanel and drive me home in his Lamborghini? I am never wearing functional shoes again if this is what happens. Before I could think further a hand was clasped over my mouth as a dark figure dragged me into an alleyway.  My screams were muffled by the gloved hand as I struggled to release myself from their iron grip. Although this wasn't exactly uncommon for this area of the city, it would've been nice to have kept today as a happy dream rather than allowing the whole thing to come tumbling down as I'm reminded of the reality of my life.
