Sometime in the middle of the night, amidst the sprawled limbs of five other teenage boys, N shook Leo awake.

"Leo. Hey."

The sleepy boy in question blinked his eyes open to look up at the redhead leaning over him.

"N?"

"Can you come with me for a sec?"

Leo got to his feet carefully, picking through the tangled mass of bodies on the carpeted floor of N's bedroom. They crossed the hallway into the bathroom, where N locked the door and sat down hard on the edge of the bathtub, fingers grabbing tightly to Leo's.

"I had a nightmare," N said quietly. The dim reflected light from the snow outside, still falling thickly, left an almost sickly bluish cast, turning N's rich beige skin a dull grey.

Leo crouched down on the floor in front of his roommate. "Yeah?"

"It was...it was if you...and Hyuk and Ravi...if all of you hadn't made it out of the school alive," N muttered, his words barely going past his lips. "I walked into the school and it was all of you on...on the floor with...a lot of blood, and then there was my dad, just laughing..." He pressed his lips together, and Leo felt his hands shaking.

"I'm here right now." Leo gave N a soft kiss on the cheek. "Yeah?"

N nodded, then leaned forward to rest his head on Leo's shoulder. Something warm and wet bloomed in Leo's shirt, and N's back heaved in and out in barely-controlled sobs. 

"Hey, N...hey, it's okay," Leo stuttered. His time with N had done nothing to improve his reaction to crying people.

Leo wrapped his arms tight around N's waist and pulled him closer. N's hands found their way to Leo's back, gripping at the soft fabric of his borrowed pajama shirt.

"I don't know why I'm still sad," N said with a bitter laugh. "My dad's already dead, and you're right here."

"That's right. I am." Leo rubbed a circle into N's back. "But that's okay."

"You hate me, don't you?"

Leo froze and pulled away. "What?"

"I'm a mess." N rubbed at his eyes. "The only thing I've ever done is make you worry and cry and complain. I...I wouldn't blame you." He bit down hard on his lower lip. "I'm ugly, too, and fat, and I'm not smart, and I'm just–"

"N, of all the stupid things I have ever heard you say, that was the stupidest." Leo took N's face in his hands, cradling it like one of the glass ornaments N used to hang from the doorframes in the dorms. "You're...fine."

"That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me," N said, still grabbing at humor and still falling flat.

"I love you, N. If that doesn't say enough, then I don't know what does." Leo planted a kiss on N's nose, tasting salt. "You're perfect, okay? You're perfect for me." He left another kiss on N's forehead. "And stop crying. You're only ugly when you cry."

"That's most of the time, then, I guess."

"Oh, shut up." Leo gave N one final kiss, this time hard and full and on his lips. 

N pulled away, laughing. "That's rude, Leo," he said, smile returning.

"What? Do you demand retribution?"

N grinned. "Sure, Leo."

Leo rested his forehead on N's. "Am I still your Superman, N?" he asked, fully aware of the cheesiness of his words.

"Only if I'm not the dynamite," N replied.
