Underneath the Moon

Description

Can this year's first star assassin finally kill the bad-blooded crown prince of their kingdom? Seo Juhyun is determined to finish the unfulfilled work of her sunbae. EXO CROWN PRICE, LUHAN MUST DIE IN HER HANDS.

Foreword

Seohyun carefully moved from one tree to another until she got a clear aim to her target: The crown prince. She hid herself behind a big tree and positioned her bow and arrow before keenly pointing it to his heart. She was lucky that the prince was out in his balcony looking up to the sky. She smirked. I must not fail my first assignment.

She squinted and took one long breath. This was her first kill and a royal blood at that. Well, I expected this since I graduated first in my batch. Only the honor roll can fight with their level. She sighed remembering how Chanyeol opposed to her having this assignment. Tsk. That jealous elf. She shook her head and refocused before she shot the arrow towards his heart.

Bullseye! She thought as the guy curled his body a bit while clutching the poisoned arrow. Although she felt like rejoicing that time, never did she want to be the cause of anyone’s death. But what can she do? She’s an assassin.

Suddenly, the figure started to straighten up. Seohyun wondered why she couldn’t see blood from his robe when her eyes met with his eyes and at that moment she saw him staring at her with a smirk. The smirking prince showed her the arrow that she shot unstained. It didn’t hit him as he was able to prevent it with his swift hand. All along, he was playing with her; acting like he was in pain but in truth he wasn’t even scratched. Shoot!  Seohyun immediately turned around and ran away from the place.

God he saw me. I can’t kill him now that he knows my presence. He might call the others and killing him in that situation is against the guidelines! Damn the rules!

Luhan threw the arrow away and jumped off his balcony to run after his assassinator. Truth to be told, he was seriously bored that when he noticed a person covered in black hiding from the trees of the forest, he decided to play with him. After numerous men in black coming to his room and trying to kill him, he ended up not feeling afraid of them. Seriously they don’t stop even though they know they can’t kill me. He ran after the covered figure into the middle of the forest, only the moon giving him light.

Seohyun ran faster as she felt the guy behind her got nearer. He runs so fast!! I underestimated this jerk!!

Suddenly, she felt a heavy thing slammed on her back and she fell on the ground on her stomach. She heard him pant at her back and she swiftly half-turned and took out her dagger. It’s now or never! She thought as she aimed her weapon to his chest but the guy nudged her hand making her lose the dagger from her grip. She kicked him with her knee hardly in the stomach and the guy budged slightly away from her. She crawled fast to the dagger and took it.

Luhan winced in pain she kneed him in the stomach. He immediately grabbed the person’s leg and dragged her closer. The person elbowed him in the head and pinned him on the ground. He saw the assassin point the dagger towards his chest so he grabbed the person’s arm and swung him over him. The body made a slight thud on the earth but didn’t make a single noise.

Seohyun fell flat on the ground as she pursed her lips to prevent it from making any sound. She couldn’t move because Luhan threw her really hard. Damn royal bloods. I never felt this kind of pain before! It’s as if she became paralyzed that she could only stare at the beautiful full moon displaying above her in clarity. Really beautiful. She thought. Her eyes widened as Luhan came to her view blocking the beautiful moon.

Luhan stood panting really hard at the side of the person he just threw. He’s unbelievably strong despite being obviously light. I didn’t even need to exert much force when I threw him. He continued to stare at her. Only her eyes can be seen because the rest of her was covered in black cloth. He noticed something from her eyes. Though it was glistening, he couldn’t prevent himself from noticing something else. Fear and ----concern?

His thought was cut off when his leg was kicked making him fall atop the body. The person held his lower body with her legs and his upper body with the person’s free hand while the other hand was holding the dagger. His face was only a few centimeters away from the other person’s face. Now he could clearly see Seohyun’s beautiful eyes. Luhan felt his heart beat pounding harder and faster.

Seohyun clenched the dagger harder in her hand and slashed it to wherever it hit in his body. Luckily, Luhan tilted his head sideways preventing the dagger to injure him more. But still it hit him in the neck and it stung him making him jerk forward. Seohyun felt Luhan move forward and now her face was facing his injured neck. She was able to slash his neck badly.

Blood started to run down his neck to his shoulders and some managed to drip on Seohyun’s face. First, it hit the side of her right eye making her blink multiple times and then it ran down her face until it reached her slightly opened mouth. She tasted the blood a little bit and out of a sudden she trembled. Is he finally dead?! Have I successfully killed him?

Silence overtook the whole situation and Seohyun stayed frozen in her place with her right hand holding the bloody dagger and hugging Luhan’s body that was still on top of her. I’m sorry. I didn’t want this. She trembled while crying silently.

“You know you’re too beautiful to be an assassin.” Luhan suddenly spoke making Seohyun gasp. She felt him brush his body on hers as he slid down to meet her gaze. Their bodies were pressed with each other as they stared in each other’s eyes. Seohyun felt her heart fluttering now that she can clearly see his face with the aid of the moon giving them a faint light. She was mesmerized by his smile and doe eyes. Her breath hitched and her cheeks turned hot. What’s happening to me??

Out of a sudden, Seohyun felt Luhan pulling down cover and his soft lips pressed against hers. She froze as Luhan just closed his eyes and continued to give her a passionate kiss. “You taste like blood.” He said then chuckled. Finally gaining enough power, Seohyun pushed him hardly away and stood up. She fixed her covers and was about to end him when she saw light flickers from a close distance. “Your majesty!!! Your majesty!!” The people who carried their torches called for Luhan.

Seohyun stood straight. God! Not good!! She immediately fled away leaving Luhan who just stared at her disappearing figure.

I can’t kill him anyway. I forgot.

“Your majesty!!” Luhan turned around and smiled at the approaching guards. Five of them quickly rushed to his aid after seeing his injury. I’m badly bleeding. He thought. The rest positioned themselves around him for his protection. “I’m fine. Let’s go.” Luhan stood and walked back towards the castle. “Your majesty, did anyone attack you?” A guard asked. “No. I just ran around and a sharp twig struck me.” Luhan replied before fainting.

Hi! This is just a short story since I realized I can't write lengthy stories (especially love stories. I was originally more of into thrillers) as it gets out of hand. Pity.- Seohan
