Final: Of A Lulu and Boyfriends

Little Monsters

Sehun was just minding his own business.

It was nap time now. However, being older and more mature, he had decided that nap time just wasn't something he'd participate in. (Unless he was tired, of course.)

So, he just sat there on his own favourite little spot, minding his own business. And with a fake plastic knife from the kitchen playhouse in his grasp, his face scrunched up in concentration as he stabbed a soft toy who became his innocent victim as violently and precisely as he could, which just happened to be a deer.

Suddenly, a loud gasp had broken the silence of nap time. 'Twas Yixing, the half-unicorn hybrid who harboured healing powers. He never believed in violence and was often horrified and traumatized by it. His eyes were already watering by now, but he held back his tears and dared ask the Sehun a question.

"W-w-wh-wh-what did he ever do to you?" At this point, Yixing was trembling in fear, and stuttering his words was the best he could do as he hugged the little toy water dragon in his arms as close to his chest and as tightly as he could.

Sehun graciously spared the lowly hybrid a glance.

"You wouldn't want to know."

"He deserves it for what he's done."

That was the last straw. Yixing, who's heart was as fragile as porcelain had broken into a million pieces, all scattered across the tiles of the nap room. It was bound to be a wound that would never heal, for it was an emotional scar that imprinted itself deep in Yixing's mind. His beliefs of the world being a beautiful place with lots of love and hugs, and not hatred and violence had been destroyed. All the beautiful lies his parents had told him since birth were all shattered at once and it was not something he could accept easily.

Hot, fat tears and slimy snot rolled down his cheeks endlessly like a waterfall. And Yixing clutched the little toy water dragon closer to his chest.

In the midst of his loud sobbing, all of it would pour into his mouth whenever he opened his mouth to inhale. He choked every time from not being able to breathe with a blocked nose. It was truly a pitiful sight to witness.

Junmyeon, the half-water dragon hybrid with the power of the water element had admired the beauty of the tears that rolled down the little unicorn's face. Yet, at the same time, it left him hurt and sad.

It would be something that'd take him more than 12 years to realise why.

With two front teeth missing in his mouth, he tried the best a five-year-old could to comfort his friend. "Hey, th-thop cwying. I'll fake you to my houde later fwor candy, okay?"

His genuine attempt only garnered the laughter of Baekhyun and Chanyeol, a half-monkey. Kyungsoo the half-cat was stifling a laugh with his chubby little fingers clutched into a fist and Jongin the half-leopard couldn't help but feel ashamed of him even though he thought Kyungsoo looked really cute and pretty when he was laughing--but he'll keep that part just to himself.

"Yeah, why don't you thop at Junmyeon's houde later, Yixing?" Chanyeol made fun of the poor boy, his face stretching oddly to do so. Baekhyun the rat hybrid, who was somehow only braver when with Chanyeol laughed with him at his making fun of Junmyeon. Jongdae the half-camel had some to add to it too, stretching his face in a way that somehow made him look more like a camel. "Fwor thome candy? Don't you wike candy, Yixing?" The trio only laughed louder and louder with each round of jokes.

Jongin personally thought that they were just being big mean, bullies, and Minseok the half-chipmunk couldn't help but agree. Being a creature of cuteness and peace, Minseok couldn't understand their actions no matter how much thought he put into it.

Junmyeon didn't bother about them because he was too concerned about Yixing. Now, he tried his best to comfort Yixing by patting his back soothingly. Which, to five-year-old Junmyeon, meant slapping him on his back as hard as he could. Junmyeon could only be confused as to why Yixing only kept crying harder and harder.

Kyungsoo couldn't hold back his laughter anymore and spat everywhere. And unfortunately, all the spit had gotten on Jongin who was sitting right beside him. Jongin could only look at the cat with disgust, both at his flying spit and his inconsiderate actions as he wiped all the spit that had gotten on him by rubbing his face on Kyungsoo's shoulder and wiping his hands on Kyungsoo's back.

Gasping for air with tears from laughter, unaffected by what Jongin was doing to him, Kyungsoo couldn't help but holler at Junmyeon. "Dumb and dumber!" Jongin could only shake his head at Kyungsoo's actions at this point. He had nothing more to say to him, and regretted having ever made such a friend.

Throughout the entire occurence, Zitao and Yifan has only sat at their usual spot, unmoving and uninterrupted from the all the noise,

Yifan was lying his head in Zitao's lap and they were in their own sweet world, discussing about which soft toys they had that looked best in Chinese, safe from being interrupted by others for no one else understood Chinese but them. (Well, except Luhan and Minseok, but Luhan wasn't there and Minseok only knew so little.)

Luhan had just returned from a friendly football match.

His team had lost, he was told not to be sad, as it wasn't for real, but it was real for him. He and his team had worked so hard and they had still lost terribly by 5-2.

He stood at the doorway, still shaken from the match his team had lost, trying his best to not be too sad about it, and he couldn't help but be confused at the sight that he beheld.

Sehun was stabbing something- w-was that a deer? Luhan's heart clenched at the sight. Wasn't that his own favourite soft toy in the whole universe? He was the only one with one...

Yixing was crying? And why was Junmyeon hitting him? The duo often confused Luhan, really. He didn't want to know. They were weirdos.

Baekhyun, Chanyeol, and Jongdae seemed to be laughing their heads off about something that was hilarious, apparently. And Kyungsoo was just looking smug with a smirk that always looked evil- well, Luhan wasn't surprised, the hybrid usually wore that smirk.

Jongin and Minseok looked concerned and sad as they were discussing about something that seemed serious while Zitao and Kris were discussing about soft toys as usual- only existing in their own world.

Why do all the eventful things always happen whenever he's not around? Luhan couldn't help but pout at the thought. Do they hate me? Luhan's pout only grew deeper. Like how he felt on the inside, he had become visibly smaller on the outside too, puppy eyes had formed and he had to hold back folded puppy ears from forming on his head as he walked over to sit next to Sehun.

When he remembered his tortured soft toy, the folded puppy ears had already laid flat on his fluffy brown hair. "Wh-what happened? And why are you doing this to my Lulu? What did he ever do to you?"

Sehun only spared Luhan a sharp, mean glance before continuing his task of stabbing Lulu.

Luhan was tired and he felt nearly as injured as his Lulu probably was from all the stabbing. He was just too exhausted to deal with all of this now, honestly. Usually, he'd try to help solve others' problems on days when he was in a better mood but that day is not today.

Using all of his remaining energy, he stood up to walk all the way across the room in order to get his own designated sleeping bag with his mother's sewing of his name on it. Trudging around with drooping eyelids and remembering how Sehun had and still is hurting and disappointing him, he went to sleep next to Zitao and Sehun. And fortunately, all of the others besides Zitao and Yifan had already fallen asleep. Zitao and Yifan were now sitting upright and listening attentively to each other's opinions, still chatting animatedly, albeit softly about their soft toys, but Luhan was okay with that. At least, that was one good thing that he could be happy and grateful for- a good nap.

Sehun knew that he was supposedly in the wrong this time, but it still took him a lot of effort to maintain his neutral facial expression. He was glad that he could finally let how upset he was from Luhan not sleeping next to him show when he was finally certain that no one else was going to enter the room for a while.

Why did he feel so upset?

Sehun truly wanted to know. Irritation was something that he had normally felt, but being upset? And for such a long time at once? That was certainly new for him.

Luhan goes back weekly to Chinatown in Korea with his parents from Transylvania.

When he was younger, usually they'd take him back by plane, even though all of them could fly in some way, because they were worried about uncanny and unavoidable weather. But now that he's bigger, and his main power besides shapeshifting- telekinesis was accessible to him and more easily controlled by him, they finally allowed him to fly back, in their company.

Last week, although he had anticipated flying on his 'magic carpet' (which was just a carpet his size, really) for the first time, he couldn't help but whine when his parents had come to get him back. He didn't want to leave preschool, and this was a first for him. His parents were surprised to say the least, but many things had changed for Luhan ever since Sehun arrived. They even had to give him ice cream before he agreed to go with them, and they knew flying was one of his favourite things in the world.

Before Sehun was around, Luhan was immature and more of a spoiled brat. He'd throw tantrums often, becoming dangerous creatures and terrorizing his preschool. His parents often had to take leaves and cancel meetings to compensate for the damages he inflicted with red cheeks from embarassment from their son's actions.

However, all that has changed. As much as Luhan misses destroying preschool property, he wishes that Sehun would reciprocrate his feelings for him.

Luhan's just sad that it'll probably never happen. Sehun's heart is as thick as his stone head.

Luhan sighed sadly to himself.

Just as he was about to leave, he felt a strong gust of wind pass him by, blowing his hair in all directions before it seemed to flatten out his hair again, and he didn't need to turn around and look to know who it was. Sehun?

Sehun stood before Luhan, and for the first time ever, he looked somewhat nervous. Being the way that he was, he calmed himself down and still managed to speak with a steady tone somehow despite his racing heart.

"Luhan," He called his name for the first time, and it was music to Luhan's ears.

"Hmm?" Luhan hummed in reply.

"I'm sorry for what I did the other day. I promise I won't do it again."

Luhan wasn't originally planning on forgiving Sehun this week, but the next, when he came back, hopefully with a replacement for his Lulu, albeit he knew that it would never be the same.

"I asked Miss Ren, your favourite teacher to help me fix him up. Some of his cotton started to show in some places because the stitches came loose. I'm truly sorry, I shouldn't have done that to him even if I was angry. Can you forgive me?"

Luhan was not going to let Sehun go easily after how hurt he had made him feel.

"Okay. First of all, it's not him, he's Lulu. He's my Lulu."

"Sorry for hurting Lulu."

"Also, you need to make it up to me and my Lulu."

"Okay, how do I make up to you and your Lulu?"

"Tell everyone you're my friend or I'm never forgiving you or talking to you ever again."

"And that you love my Lulu and are sorry for what you did to him."

Honestly, Sehun was having a hard time swallowing up all his pride. But if it was for Luhan, maybe it was worth it. Especially when he was getting all worked up over a mere soft toy. It was entertaining and rather...cute, Sehun had to admit.

"Deal. When do you want me to do it?"

"When I get back. Okay? And you must wear a pink tutu with a golden crown."

Sehun frowned deeply, deep lines forming on his forehead. Now this was crossing the line. In no way would Sehun ever do such a--

"Or I'm never forgiving you or talking to you ever again."

"Fine." He said begrudgingly with gritted teeth and turned around swiftly, messing up Luhan's hair so it looked like a bird's nest. He didn't need to see it because he could feel how he had made it look and he was immensely proud of his work.

Sehun truly regretted his life choices now, but he didn't let that show on his face. He marched on proudly with a smirk on his face, choosing to think only of the great stunt that he pulled.

Luhan had won this round, at last. His smile had become so wide that it had morphed into a Chesire cat's.

Sehun was going to apologize in front of everyone and tell them that he loved his Lulu! And in a pink tutu and a golden crown! Luhan couldn't wait.

He was going to choose the prettiest ones they had so Sehun would look extra pretty even though he'd be sulking.

His parrents couldn't help but coo at the sight. Puppy love truly was the purest of all kinds of love.

This time, Luhan left with his parents willingly, with all his things in tow, not whining or needing ice cream to coax him into going home and with a smile so bright  upon his face that anyone who witnessed it couldn't help but mirror.

The next week, Luhan passed the things Sehun needed for his apology before class started.

Everyone had started whispering when they saw pink sticking out from the paper bag.

Sehun went to change begrudgingly, trying his best to hide his sulk, not wanting Luhan to feel that he had won as he mumbled to himself about how he was going to cope with Luhan if he was going to be like this every time that he'd get upset in the future.

He stood in front of the class with pink dusting his cheeks for the first time and Luhan thought that Sehun looked the prettiest then. With a golden crown atop Sehun's silver hair, pink blushing his cheek and a matching shade of a pink tutu around his waist, Sehun was the prettiest. Prettier than any pretty girl that ever existed.

"Luhan is my friend and I love his Lulu."

Jongin started laughing uncontrollably at this and Sehun facepalmed as he ran to the bathroom to change. What a ert he was.

The other kids, including Luhan, were confused at the duo's exchange, but that wasn't something that they were supposed to understand. At least, not yet.

When Sehun came out changed, trying his best to ignore his classmates' curious glances flickering between him and Luhan, Luhan was touched when Sehun had the courtesy to apologize to him again.

"I'm really sorry, Luhan."

"Apology accepted." Luhan said, unable to stop his lips from curving into a large grin before he managed to finish speaking, and Sehun's heart fluttered when he caught that in his voice, but he didn't know why. All he knew was that he was happy that he had made Luhan happy and that he really wished Luhan was facing him so he could see his beautiful smile.

Suddenly, Luhan took Sehun into a large embrace, giving him a tight, warm squeezing hug that made Sehun's cheeks red from shyness. He wished that Luhan wouldn't catch that- it was already embarassing enough that he blushed earlier, and in front of the whole class.

Sadly, Miss Ren had already entered the class then, and they had to separate from their hug. And that was the first time both Sehun and Luhan cursed at their favourite teacher.

A few years later, when all of them had graduated and went to middle school, Sehun had finally discovered the reason why he always felt different around Luhan that when he was with others.

Truthfully, Luhan had always known that he liked Sehun. He only wondered if Sehun liked him back.

It was a Friday night.

They had went for their monthly movie at their favourite cinema.

Sehun had already went to the cinema to watch that very movie for at least three times with Jongin. The first time was them actually watching the movie, but the second and third times were Sehun preparing with Jongin to surprise Luhan.

Sehun seriously owed Jongin this time.

Sehun actually had it planned from the start.

Luhan had already told him all month that he wanted to watch that movie. Originally, he didn't want to because it was a romance movie, but for Luhan, he'd do anything.

When the main character bent on a knee to propose to the girl, Sehun took out a ring box from his pocket and did the same.

As the main character asked the girl to marry him, Sehun asked Luhan to be his boyfriend, in sync with the movie.

For the first time, Sehun's throat was dry, and he had finished his drink before the movie had even started. He even had to clear his throat before asking Luhan.

"Luhan, my one and only love, will you take my hand in companionship, to be my lovely boyfriend?" Sehun asked with a hint of nervousness in his words and pink decorating his cheeks.

Tears glided down Luhan's face. Tears of surprise. Tears of pure bliss.

Luhan had been so uncertain of Sehun liking him until now, and he was always worried about Sehun leaving his side.

"Yes. Yes!" Luhan cried, to which half the cinema responded with coos and the other half asking them to be quiet.

Sehun grinned from ear to ear as he slid the simple ring onto Luhan's ring finger and waited for Luhan to do the same. He had never noticed how slender Luhan's fingers were. They were almost as slender as his cousin's, and she was a girl, a pianist, even.

Ah, only my Luhan can be so flawless and pretty. He thought to himself, pink dusting his cheeks again and he couldn't help but be grateful that the cinema was too dark for his blush to be seen.

Luhan giggled and his hands trembled when he was wearing the ring on Sehun's fourth finger. He had his night vision (he learned how to activate it when needed) and used what he had just learnt to read Sehun's mind by feeling the movements of every particle in Sehun's body and passing the same vibrations to his own. He did receive the message much slower, but Luhan finally felt reassured and happy that his love for Sehun wasn't one-sided, but recipocrated, He just hoped that Sehun didn't feel too weird when he was reading his mind, but he stopped worrying when he remembered that when he did that to his teacher during their one-to-one session, his teacher had said that he felt nothing out of the norm.

Luhan helped Sehun back on his feet and they both watched the rest of the movie until the end with blushes on their cheeks and Luhan's head leaning on Sehun's shoulder and Sehun leaning his on Luhan's head.

Ever since, the both of them lived happily ever after.

The End.
