The Black Diamonds

Description

“You’re an absolute idiot, Sara. Why did you do that?’’ Hayley said as she held down on the wound that wouldn’t stop bleeding. “, it won’t stop bleeding, you could die.”

“Stop being melodramatic, it’s just a little cut.” The girl who was bleeding profusely groaned.

“A little cut?! You have a big gash on your stomach because you jumped in front of a cop who was armed!”

Sirens were blaring in the background and shots could be heard from where they hid. Police were trying to round up those who were injured to get them to paramedics.

“Hurry leave! I’m fine, Hayley.”

“You’re mental if you think I’m going to leave you alone. If we’re going to get caught, we’re going to get caught together. I’m not leaving you!” Hayley said as she ripped off a part of her shirt and pressed it onto the girl’s wound.

With whatever strength Sara could muster, she yanked the girl’s collar and brought Hayley’s face to hers.

“Listen and listen closely. The police don’t know what I look like or what I sound like. You need to get out of here because you’re one of the most wanted people in Korea. You need to get back to HQ and tell them what’s happened.”

Tears welled up in Hayley’s eyes as she looked at her bestfriend of 10 years. The thought of leaving Hayley pained her, but she knew it was the right thing to do.

“Okay.” She whispered. “I’ll go. But will you be alright?”

“A little cut isn’t going to kill me okay? Now take my necklace and go!”

Hayley took the necklace off the girl and kissed her forehead. “I’ll come looking for you. I promise. So please wait for me.”

With that, she stood up and ran without looking back.
