The Starlets- [Discontinued, but working on Epilogue]Just hours ago, SM and JJ Entertainment companies announced in a press release that they are collaborating to debut a new girl group, The Starlets. The group was originally a project group at SM in 2005 under the name of 스타레트, but due to "artistic differences", the group was disbanded. Now, both companies have collaborated together to debut the group.
As part of the collaboration, SM stated that the internationally known boy group, Super Junior, will be playing a part in this. Since both groups were reported to have been close during their trainee days, it was deemed fitting that Super Junior will act as both supporters for their new juniors in their promotions and as coaches and examples for them to follow. It was reported that not only will Super Junior be appearing in live performances with The Starlets, but they will also be hosting a new show, featuring the new girl group. Many may recall Super Junior's older shows, including "The Super Junior Show" and "Super Junior's Foresight". Super Junior's leader, Leeteuk, stated that it will be different from their earlier shows.

With Super Junior's eleventh anniversary coming up in a few months, it seems that SM couldn't pick a better time to showcase the group as much as possible. After the rather unsuccessful release of "Devil" and "Magic" albums last year, their tenth anniversary was met with little recognition, prompting a large decline in support from their fanbase.
As one fan of Super Junior commented, "Perhaps this is exactly what Super Junior needs to reclaim their throne as the 'Kings of K-pop.'"
