I'll Be Waiting Here
Description
For four years, Jungkook has mulled over why Sana has consistently rejected his offers to go out. For four years, he's waited by her locker, held her books without having to be asked, complimented her on her hair and gifted her with Pocky after she helped him with his math homework. He honestly doesn't know what he's doing wrong. Is it his voice? His hair? His clothes? Something has to be wrong... that is until Sana finally says yes.

Jungkook took a deep breath, mentally preparing himself as he stood at the end of the crowded hallway. Students shuffled to their lockers, conversed with their group of friends and headed out of the building since it was the end of the day.
Towards the far end, he could already see Sana walking along with her usual group of friends; Momo, Nayeon and Mina.
She was so gorgeous that he had to take a deep breath and lay a hand against his heart because it was beating so fast that he thought it would jump out of his chest.
"Calm down," he murmured.
The girls walked toward their lockers and separated after a few hugs and simple waves and once Sana was opening her locker to put her books inside, Jungkook decided not to waste another second.
How many steps did it take for him to make it all the way over there? It felt like forever, an eternity actually in this crowded hallway as he pushed through people and said excuse me to others.
When he stopped just beside Sana, he wondered if she could hear how fast his heart was beating, if she could see the rise in his chest and the sweat that gathered on his forehead. His tongue felt numb inside his mouth suddenly and he wondered had she always smelled like lavender or was this the first time?
"H-Hey," he said hesitantly.
It was so cliche but his world really did stop spinning when Sana turned to face him and broke out into a small smile. Jungkook couldn't explain really the feelings that erupted inside his body but he knew it was love. He was in love. It had only taken four years but he was sure that it was love.
It was in the way she whispered back a greeting, the way her lips curled up into a smile and her eyes looked like they could see everything inside his immature eighteen year old mind. Her skin was so flawless that he wanted to glide his fingertips along her cheek just to see if it would actually feel like porcelain. Her hair was styled up in a cute bun with some loose strands of hair out to frame her face and he wanted to take a picture of her so badly right now. He would have pulled out his iPhone but the screen was broken in more places than he could count.
"Jungkook, what is it?" her eyebrow cocked in confusion.
God. That voice.
He had heard her sing only once sophomore year at the spring concert and he had been living off of that since. Everytime he thought about her rendition, it made his toes curl up in his beaten up Converse and Taehyung would throw a pencil at him for being gross.
It wasn't gross. He was just in love.
, he thought. She's confused and I didn't answer her yet.
Immediately, Jungkook his chapped lips nervously before swallowing and bringing his hands together.
"I was--I was you know. I was kind of thinking, if you know-- if you want- you know," he squeezed his eyes shut because he was already ruining everything and the stuttering was only making it worse!
Pull yourself together Jeon Jungkook!
"It's okay," she laughed and grabbed her science textbook before slamming the locker shut. "Just take your time,"
He opened his eyes again and nodded before looking down then back up at her. "I was thinking," he started off slowly. "Well actually wondering, if you wanted to go with me to the Festival of Lights show tonight? Then I could take you to eat since eating is important and I don't want you to starve and then maybe if we have more time then we can see a movie or something?"
It felt like the biggest most nerve wracking moment of his life. As soon as he said it, he regretted it and he mentally prepared himself for the rejection. He knew it was coming, what was different now than the last four years he had asked her out? What made the Festival of Lights so damn special that--
"I'd love to!"
If this was a cartoon, Jungkook's eyes would have popped out of his head and rolled onto the floor with a dramatic sound effect following. He choked on his saliva and actually stumbled back in shock while Sana smiled widely at him. There was no way in hell he had heard her right.
"Come again?"
She rolled her eyes playfully before nudging his chest with her textbook. "I said yes, I actually wanted to go to that. It looks interesting,"
"Hold on a second," Jungkook held up a finger. He laid a hand against his heart then checked his pulse before taking three deep breaths and feeling his forehead.
"I'm shocked I'm still alive honestly. I thought I would die when I hear you finally say those words,"
Sana burst out laughing, she literally threw her head back to laugh and held up a hand to cover while Jungkook only stared at her. He was serious about the dying part though.
"You're so stupid Jungkook,"
