“You heard me right baby. I want you to marry me tomorrow morning..”Chaerin repeats what she said to the stunned girl standing right in front of her, she studied the expression on her face and she knows that Dara is mad, shock, annoyed and confused

 

Maybe if only looks could kill, I’ll be dead by now

 

“Why all of a sudden? I haven’t read anything on that paper that I need to marry you tomorrow..”Dara said, she don’t know what to do. First she wants her to quit her job and now she’s saying that they need to get married by tomorrow

 

“I need my assurance Ms. Park. Before I process some papers and documents, give money for your mom, I want us to get married first..”Chaerin said

 

“Do you think I’ll run away?”

 

“Nope, I trust you a lot but this is purely business, right?”

 

“Yeah..”

 

“I think you know the word collateral and I don’t need to explain it to you..”Chaerin went back to her table and open her drawer, she took a piece of paper inside then walks back to Dara

 

“I already processed these papers while I’m in UK. Same s*x marriage is still not legal here but you know that I can sue you once you act or cheated on me, honey..”

 

“Will you stop calling me baby or honey!!”Dara protested, Chaerin just give her a sweet smile and hand over the papers

 

“All I need tomorrow is your signature then we’ll have some lunch with my friends and your sister Minji..” Chaerin looks at Dara’s face, she saw that Dara is staring at the papers

 

“Am I coming too fast?”Chaerin asked, Dara look at her with a cold look in her eyes

 

“I’ll sign that paper once you agree on my one and only condition..”Dara said, she’s been quiet the whole time, thinking what she would do in this situation, If Chaerin has her own do’s and don’ts then she needs to think one for herself

 

“Sure, what is that?”Chaerin asked

 

“You’re doing this because the money I owed you. You’ll help my mother with her medicines and process her papers so she can be with us in Japan with exchange of me marrying you..”Dara said

 

“Yes..”Chaerin answered

 

“Okay, I’m still going to save for the money I owed to you then when the time comes that I already paid it in full, you need to give my freedom back..”Chaerin thought for a second, she’s not removing her sight on Dara’s face, she then smiles and said

 

“Sure, I’ll give you your freedom back IF you already finish paying your debt on me..”Chaerin extends her right hand towards Dara and the latter accepts it

 

“I’ll see you tomorrow Ms. Park, you can go now..”Chaerin said, Dara sighs and starts to walk away from her, she opens the door and went out. Once Dara is nowhere in sight, Chaerin slumps her body on the chair and closes her eyes

 

‘Damn it Chaerin! Why can’t you be nice to her when she’s in front of you?!’ she whispered to herself

 

“Hey Chae, how did it go?”she heard Bom’s voice, she opens her eyes and saw her friends are already inside the library

 

“Well it went smooth..”she answered, her friends smiled at her but she’s not done talking

 

“Smooth at first then this big mouth of mine did the talking..”she added, Bom raised one of her eyebrows at her

 

“Don’t tell me that you..”Chaerin nods her head at her and they all shook their heads

 

“What’s the matter with you Chaerin? If she’s not here, you looks like a teenage girl in love but once she’s standing in front of you, you act cold, distant and b*tchy!”Bom said, Seungri and Jiyong laughs but they stops when Bom look at them

 

“I don’t know Unnie. Even I asked myself why am I acting that why in front of her?”Chaerin answered and bow down her head on her table

 

“But did she say yes to your proposal?”Seunghyun asked her

 

“Yes Oppa..”Chaerin answered

 

“Okay so your problem is solved..”Kazuko butted in, Chaerin looks at her then to Mika, Bom, Seunghyun, Jiyong and Seungri

 

“ What’s wrong?”  Jiyong asked her

 

“ I ah, hmm, I added something on my proposal..” she said and smiled sheepishly, Bom covers her face with both of her hands so Mika is the one who ask her Unnie

 

“You added what?”

 

“ That she.. That she..” Chaerin said, she can’t seem to continue what she’s trying to say because she knows Bom will be mad and could punch her on the face

 

“ That she what, Chaerin???!” Bom asked

 

“ That she needs to quit her job and work for me then ah we’re getting married tomorrow morning!” she answered, she closes her eyes for  a while and when she heard no one yelled or screamed at her, she happily opens her eyes thinking that her friends support her but she saw her friends holding Bom who is trying to run towards her

 

“ Let me hit that head of yours LEE CHAERIN!!” Bom shouted

 

 

 

 

 

DARA

 

I arrived at our house and saw Aunt Yoonsuh talking to my mom, I smiled as I saw my mother crying while hugging her friend.

 

“I’ll be visting you every day, Sallie. I promise you that..” I heard Mrs. Lee said then my mother saw me

 

“ Oh there’s Dara..” my mom said, Aunt Yoonsuh looks at me and smiled, she pulls me into a hug

 

“ Look how big you are now, you’re daughter is so pretty. I bet many boys ask you if they can court your her..” My mother laughs so as she, I shook my head and we sit on the sofa

 

“ Well I hope that will happen but this daughter of mine is busy with her work..”

 

“ Oh yeah speaking of work, have you decided about my offer to you to work at my company?” Aunt Yoonsuh asked me

 

“ Ah I’m still thinking about it, Auntie. Don’t worry i’ll give you my answers by tomorrow..” I answered, I think if she knew what her daughter is doing but I think not

 

“ Sure Dara, I can wait. I need someone to be in-charge of our company in Japan, I asked Chaerin if she can handle it but she refused..”

 

“ Why you didn’t bring her along?” mom asked her

 

“ Oh she said that she’s waiting for some client and that she will visit you after..” I raised one of my eyebrows and shook my head discretely

 

Client my a*s!

 

“ It’s been years since Chaerin saw Dara and I bet she will be happy to see you again..” Aunt Yoonsuh said to me, I just smiled and I hope that she won’t notice that I’m annoyed when she mentions her name

 

“ Why don’t you bring Chaerin here tomorrow?”

 

“ Yes, I’ll bring her. I know she won’t say no, she misses you so much..”

 

“ I miss that little girl of yours too..” I have no problem with Aunt Yoonsuh, she always lend is some money but every time I try to pay it back to her, she won’t accept it

 

“ Unnie, I need your help with something..” I hear my sister called me, the three of us looked at her and I excuse myself from the two, I walk towards the kitchen but Minji pulls me inside her room

 

“ What happened?” she asked me, I sigh and lay down on her bed

 

“ You know if killing someone is not a crime, I already shot that girl in the head!” I said, I know Minji is giggling because I heard her

 

“ You always wants to kill her, remember when you run her over with your bike?” she asked me

 

“It’s her fault not mine..”

 

“Anyways, what did she said to you?” I sit on her bed and look her straight into the eyes

 

“ She wants me to quit my job and work for her..” I said, Minji furrow her eyebrows at me

 

“But will Kiyong Nii-san (Oppa) allow you to resign?” I didn’t answer her question, to be honest I don’t know what will I say to him. He helped me a lot, lend me some money though I refused he’ll insist it. He’s kind and very loving person and knowing that I won’t see him again makes me feel lonely

 

“I don’t know, Min. I need to think of a valid reason for my resignation..” I answered

 

“You mean that you will go with her in UK?”

 

“No, she said that she’ll stay in Japan for good after we got married..” then it hit me, s*it! I’m gonna be married to her tomorrow morning

 

“ There’s one more thing Minji..” I said and look at her

 

“Tomorrow will be my wedding day..” I said

 

 

 

 

 

EARLY THE NEXT MORNING

 

When Yoonsuh visit Sallie again, she brought along her daughter and her friends, she introduce them to her, Dara and Chaerin needs to pretend that they haven’t seen each other in years though they already met yesterday

 

“Mom, Aunt Sallie, mind if I invited Dara and Minji to have lunch with us?” Chaerin said, she looks at Dara and winks at her but the latter just give her a deadly stare

 

“Oh sure sweetie, I know you three needs a lot of time to catch up with your life..” Yoonsuh said

 

“I’ll be fine, Your Auntie is here. You two go with Chaerin and hang-out..”Sallie said, Minji nods happily while Dara felt that she’s been having a hard time dragging her two feet towards her room

 

“ Give us 15 minutes to change, Unnie..” Minji said

 

“No worries, take your time. We’ll be waiting for you two outside..” Minji pulls her sister and push her inside her room. Chaerin and her friends went out of the house, they are talking about the lunch and the wedding later on

 

“ Are you sure about this? You still have time to stop yourself from ruining that girl’s life..” Seunghyun asked her, Chaerin hit him on the shoulder while the other laughs

 

“Why do you always say that? Do you think I won’t be a good wife to her?” Chaerin asked her friends

 

“Do we need to answer your question, Chae? How can you be a good wife when you can’t trust your own mouth when she’s in front of you?” Bom asked her back

 

“I know, I know. I’m trying hard not to act like that when she’s near..” Chaerin answered

 

“ Try harder, Unnie or you’ll lose this game of yours..” Mika said, Seungri then saw Minji pulling her sister outside, he smiled when he saw Dara, he nudged Jiyong’s elbow and motion for him to look at the door

 

‘Wow! She’s beautiful..’ Jiyong whispered

 

‘I agree! I wonder what Chaerin will say to her?’ Seungri said

 

‘She won’t say anything..’

 

‘Why?’

 

‘Because she’ll act like a fool in front of her again..’ the two laughs and Bom heard them

 

“ Why are you two laughing?” she asked them

 

“Oh nothing, nothing. Hey Chae, your lovely bride is here..” Jiyong said and point his finger at Dara, they all turn around to look and  can’t believe what they saw

 

‘She’s really pretty huh?’ Bom asked Seunghyun who just nod at her

 

“ Sorry for keeping you waiting guys..” Minji said, Mika smiles at her and said

 

“It’s okay Minji, Unnie you’re lovely with that dress..” Dara smiles at her and bow her head

 

“ Thanks Mika..” Dara answered, she looks at Chaerin who is just staring at her

 

“It’s not polite to stare, if you don’t know that..” Dara said to her in a cold tone

 

“I’m not staring at you, I’m just looking..” Chaerin answered

 

“Whatever..” Dara walks towards Bom and stand beside her

 

“ So shall we?” Kazuko asked her friends and Chaerin nod her head, she went to the driver side and went in, Bom opens the door so Dara can get in but Chaerin stops her

 

“Your wife is the one driving then why on earth are you going to sit at the back?” she asked her, Dara is on the verge of letting out her feelings towards Chaerin, punch the driver seat and went out of the car

 

“ You are lucky it didn’t landed on your face..” Bom said and get in

 

 

 

Dara is sitting quiet and looking out the window, Minji her sister is busy talking with Chaerin friends while the latter is secretly looking at her wife to be

 

“ Hey Dara, are you nervous?” Bom asked,she sitting behind Dara while Minji sits beside her

 

“No Unnie, why would I?” she asked

 

“Cool because Chaerin is nervous if you’re going to sign those papers or not..” Mika butted in, Chaerin look at the rear-view mirror and give a warning look at her friend

 

“You should ask Dara if she’s happy that she’s going to marry our friend, Bom..” Seunghyun said

 

“You heard your Oppa, Dara. Are you happy?” Bom repeated the question, Dara smiles and shook her head then look at Chaerin

 

“Ouch so she’s not happy, Chae. Better let her go..” Jiyong said and they laugh

 

“I will just be sure you have my money now..” All of them went silent for a while and if they can only wrap some duct tape on Chaerin’s mouth they already did

 

“All do you care about is your money, Chaerin..” Dara said to her, Chaerin on the other hand look again in the rear-view mirror and saw Bom widening her eyes at her

 

Come on Chaeirn, you can do it! Tell her that you’re not after the money but you.. you..

 

“Well I worked hard for it, I lent you some and you suppose to pay it back, right?” Chaerin sighs and look outside the window for a while then on the road, she knows that her friends are already cursing her for what she said

 

“I’ll pay it to you in full just don’t forget to give my freedom back..”

 

“I won’t..”

 

 

 

 

They arrived at the restaurant after 20 minutes of drive from Dara and Minji’s place. A man saw them and open the door and let the group in

 

“I think they are not yet open, Unnie..” Kazuko said to her, Chaerin smiles and said

 

“I rented the whole place, so this place is ours until 3pm..” she’s trying to impress Dara but she saw that there’s no reaction or expressions on her face

 

“Okay let’s head to our table so we can start this ceremony..” Chaerin added, she walks ahead of them while Dara is the one at the back of the line, her mind is still battling over the decisions she made and she e-mailed Kiyong last night informing him that she might need two more weeks with her mom before she can go back to work, she’s in deep thinking that’s why she did not hear Chaerin calling her

 

“Unnie!” Minji said and tap her shoulder

 

“Huh?” Dara asked

 

“ Chaerin-Unnie is calling you..” she look at Chaerin who is patiently waiting for her, she walks towards her and stands beside Chaerin

 

“Okay ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank you all for coming to this special day of our lives..” Chaerin said, she took a glass of champagne and hand it over to Dara who is hesitant at first but grab the glass afterwards

 

“For this day will be the—“ Chaerin was cut off when they heard a man’s voice

 

“ Sorry to interrupt Miss but there’s one of your guest has arrived..” he said, Chaerin furrow her eyebrows at him

 

“I’m not expecting anymore guest, who is it?” she asked then they all saw a boy standing behind him looking at Dara while smiling

 

“Dara! It’s me Kiyong!” he said
