“Hayi, appa is heading to work now!” the man called.

“Appa!” a little girl yelled as she ran towards him, “have a good day at work,” she waved while clutching onto her little stuffed bunny.

“Arasso,” he bent down to kiss her forehead, “be a good girl, Hanbin-ah should be here soon to pick you up to go to school, okay? Remember to lock the door when you leave,” he reminded her.

“I will,” she grinned, “Tell Dara unnie hi for me.”

Dara unnie?! He almost choked when he heard her. “Arasso, I’ll make sure to tell her.”

“Yay! Tell her to come over so we can play together again,” she giggled excitedly at the thought.

“I…I can try,” he blushed, “alright, give appa popo.”

Giggling, Hayi leaned forward and gave her father a small peck on the lips before waving goodbye.

Giving one more pat on the head, the man headed out the door.

Dara unnie? She already called her Dara unnie? Even though they only met once? He shook his head in disbelief, how is it that Hayi got so attached to her in only one day? It took her several days to make friends with Hanbin. Hanbin was the next door neighbor’s kid that was a year older than Hayi. Dara…just her name brought warmth to his cheeks.

“Hyung!”

“Hmmm?” he lifted his head towards the person who joined him.

“Where’s Hayi?”

“She’s going to school with Hanbin, I need to get the office early so I can’t drop her off at school,” he frowned.

“You need to get to the office early huh?” he teased, “Don’t you mean you want to see Dara noona as soon as possible?”

“Ya Seungri!” he quickly covered his friend’s mouth as he look around trying to make sure she wasn’t anywhere around them. “What are you talking about?” he hissed.

“mwojfoenfowne” Seungri mumbled behind his hand. Yanking his hand away, Seungri grinned and gave him a knowing look, “Oh please hyung. It’s so obvious that you have a crush on her.”

“I-I-I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he looked away from his friend and started to walk away.

“Uh huh,” Seungri swung his arm around the man’s shoulder, “that’s why you’re blushing profusely right now? That’s why whenever she enters the room, you can’t take your eyes off her? That’s why your confidence goes out the window once she greets you? Dude, just ask her out already!”

“But-but I have a daughter and her mother…” he drifted off.

“What are you talking about, hyung? Hayi’s mother?” Seungri scoffed, “It’s not like you were madly in love with her and she suddenly passed. Hayi’s mother used you and abandoned you and Hayi years ago,” he angrily retorted as he remembered what had happened.

“But still,” the man pouted as he entered their office building, “no woman wants a man with a child.”

“You never know hyung,” Seungri gave him a slap on the back, “just ask her out!” he called as he walked towards his section of the building.

“Aigoo,” the man shook his head in disbelief. “What am I going to do with him?” he asked himself as he stepped into the elevator. “Just ask her out!” Seungri’s words echoed in his head. “Aish!” he cursed. Stop being such a coward and ask her out. Just like Seungri said you’re not attached, you weren’t even married, you just have a kid. An adorable kid, he smiled at the thought of his daughter. Hayi will like her too. Yes! Today is the day! Today is the day I will ask Sandara Park out on a date, he thought as he confidently stepped out of the elevator onto his floor.

“Ah,” a sweet voice came from in front of him. He looked up to see her. The beautiful petite woman stood in front of him with her wavy black hair lining her flawless face, her luscious looking lips, her cute, little nose, and of course, her beautiful eyes. In short, she was a goddess, the goddess of his dreams. His heart was pounding like crazy just at the sight of her. “Good morning Jiyong-ssi,” she greeted him with a breathtaking smile.

“G-G-good m-morning D-dara-ssi,” he greeted back nervously as her quickly hurried towards his room. Maybe…maybe today’s not the day, he thought as he shrunk into his office trying to hid his blushing face.
