“Here” a little girl said as she gave the young boy a lollipop, “What’s that?” the boy asked, “It’s a lollipop silly~” the girl replied, “I know (-_-) what I meant was, why are you giving that to me?” the boy asked, “A while ago you seemed sad and lonely that’s why I decided to give you that lollipop to see you smiling again ^^” the girl replied, the boy blushed and said “T-Thanks”, the girl smiled back at him “H-How cute” he thought

Suddenly, “YAH JO KWANGMIN, WAKE UP!” Kwangmin’s friend, No Minwoo, yelled at his ear and Kwangmin slowly opened his eyes, “W-What happened?” he asked, “You were sleeping the whole time I was talking to you! >.<” Minwoo pouted, “Uh, sorry it’s just that... I wasn’t able to get some sleep last night” Kwangmin replied, “Hmmm -_- well you’re forgiven but the next time you sleep while I’m talking, I’m going to put make up on your face” said Minwoo, “Sure, you do that” Kwangmin said as he turned to the other way, then he saw a girl looking outside the window, “Uh?” he wondered, “YAH! You’re not listening to me again!” Minwoo proclaimed but Kwangmin didn’t respond, then Minwoo noticed that he was looking at the girl, “Ah~ Park MiYu-ssi huh? Wait, Park MiYu-ssi!?” Minwoo proclaimed, Kwangmin immediately covered his mouth, “SHH!” he added, then MiYu turned around to see who called her, she faced Minwoo and Kwangmin and the two looked at her in a guilty way, then they waved to her awkwardly, she just stared at them then faced the window again

“Yah Kwangmin, have you gone insane? Why did you have to pick Park MiYu as your crush? She may be pretty but she hates everyone!” Minwoo silently proclaimed, “I never said that she was my crush!” Kwangmin responded, “Really? Then why were you looking at her then?” Minwoo asked as he raised his brow, “If you still don’t know, I’ve been classmates and schoolmates with her ever since pre-school” Kwangmin replied, “Which means?” said Minwoo, “I’ve never noticed how alone she is ever since Middle School, I never expected for this to happen” said Kwangmin “Okay, you just lost me. Listen, if you’re going to talk to her, make sure that you wear some protective gear first” said Minwoo “HAR-HAR, really funny” said Kwangmin and Minwoo rolled his eyes and went back to his seat.

                During lunch time, when Kwangmin stood up, he accidentally bumped in to “Ah! MiYu-ssi, I’m so sorry!” he apologized as MiYu dropped her books when Kwangmin bumped into her, MiYu just released a sigh and picked her books up then she left the room

“See, even if a smiling nice guy like you approaches her, she still hates you. That’s how scary she is” Minwoo whispered to his ear, “Argsh, stop being such a bother!” Kwangmin proclaimed, “Tss” said Minwoo.
After eating lunch, Kwangmin decided to roam around the school for a while, while he was walking, he suddenly heard a loud BANG! He quickly rushed to where the loud noise came from, he turned to a corner and saw four girls cornering one girl “Uh?” he said as he looked closer and saw MiYu.

“You think you’re so tough because everyone in this school is afraid of you!” the mean girl proclaimed but MiYu showed her no fear, “Argsh, your face is really annoying!” she proclaimed then she suddenly slapped MiYu, the other girls gasped when she did it, MiYu touched her cheek and it felt a bit stingy, she gave the girl a death glare, it irritated her again and was about to hit MiYu for the second time but then, “STOP!” Kwangmin proclaimed as he grabbed the girl’s wrist

“O-Oppa?” the girl said as she was surprised to see Kwangmin, “What do you think you’re doing?” Kwangmin asked in an angry voice, “Oppa, she was the one who started it!” the girl proclaimed, “Mwo?  I saw how you slapped her so don’t you dare lie to me” said Kwangmin “But Oppa-” “If I see you bothering her again, you’re dead!” Kwangmin proclaimed, the girl looked at him and noticed how angry he was, she suddenly felt teary eyed and ran away, the three girls ran after her. When they were already gone, Kwangmin faced MiYu and noticed that she was still rubbing her cheeks, “Does it hurt?” he asked as he touched it but then MiYu felt a sting on her face, “Yah!” she proclaimed as she slapped Kwangmin’s hand “Sorry about that... but that girl sure had gorilla hands I mean, look at your face... it’s as red as apple!” he proclaimed trying to make a joke but as usual, MiYu just glared at him then he kept quiet. She released a sigh and walked away, “Hey wait!” he called as he followed her.

                “So, do you have any class?” he asked as he caught up with her “Am I really that invisible? You even forget that we’re classmates” MiYu replied, “Oh right, I forgot... you have free period as well” said Kwangmin. MiYu rolled her eyes and continued to walk, “Yah!” Kwangmin also followed.

At the roof top, “So this is where you stay all the time” he said “Why are you following me again?” MiYu asked as she suddenly got irritated of Kwangmin’s presence...

“Why? I’m not allowed?” he asked, “Yep” MiYu replied coldly, “Well you’re not the boss of me, besides, I’ve been thinking, since we’ve been classmates and schoolmates for a long time already, I really want to make friends with you” he said as he went near MiYu “Friends?” MiYu wondered as she turned to him and saw him smiling at her, “Uh, heh... how stupid” she said “Uh?” Kwangmin said as he looked at her “I don’t need those so called ‘friends’, all they do is bring you down, say nothing good about you, always look at your negative side, doesn’t even care about you... they don’t even understand that you’re not like them...” MiYu added, “Uh” said Kwangmin “So if you want to make friends with some random person, don’t pick me because I’ll never be friends with you” she said then she left, Kwangmin was left dumbfounded after hearing those words from MiYu

“U-uhh...” he said.

                After class, “So... where have you been?” Minwoo asked as he approached Kwangmin “I was with MiYu-ssi the whole free period” Kwangmin replied “Really!? I can’t believe you were that brave enough... uh, you don’t have any scars so I guess your talk with her went well?” said Minwoo “Went well? Heh, I tried making friends with her but...” Kwangmin said as he remembered what MiYu said

“I don’t need those so called ‘friends’, all they do is bring you down, say nothing good about you, always look at your negative side, doesn’t even care about you... they don’t even understand that you’re not like them..” –MiYu

“EH? She said those things?” asked Minwoo and Kwangmin nodded his head, “So I guess you’ll stop approaching her then?” asked Minwoo but Kwangmin shook his head and said “Are you kidding me? I’m going to prove to MiYu-ssi that she’s absolutely wrong!” Kwangmin proclaimed, “Oh no, here comes his ‘never give up’ side again” Minwoo murmured, “I’m not going to give up until she becomes my friend” Kwangmin added, “I was right, he’s going to do whatever it takes to be friends with her (=_=)” Minwoo added then he released a sigh.

                For the next few days, Kwangmin was trying his best to show MiYu how he’s willing to be her friend but every time he does try, she keeps on ignoring him.

Attempt # 1:

                During lunch time, “MiYu-ssi!” Kwangmin called as he stood up and immediately went near MiYu “Let’s go eat lunch!” he proclaimed but then MiYu stood up and left him without saying a word “Uh?” he wondered.

Attempt #4:

                At the Library, MiYu was peacefully reading a book when suddenly, “MiYu-ssi!” Kwangmin quietly surprised her which made her shout “YAH!” “SHH!” the librarian quickly reacted, MiYu apologized to her then turned to Kwangmin

“What do you think you’re doing!?” she proclaimed

“I just want to hang out with you~” Kwangmin replied, “What? ARGH!” MiYu proclaimed then she went out of the library.

Attempt #16:

                While MiYu was staying at the mini garden, listening to some music, “Here you go” Kwangmin said as he gave MiYu a can of soda “Uh?” MiYu wondered as she looked at him and he was smiling at her, “Argsh” she said as she stood up and was about to leave when suddenly, Kwangmin grabbed her hand “Wait...” he said, “Uh?” she wondered as she turned to him, “Have a drink first” he said as he gave MiYu the soda, she looked at it then looked at Kwangmin and... “I don’t drink this” she said as she threw the soda to the trashcan then left.

Attempt #28:

                While on cleaning duty, MiYu was carrying the heavy chairs when suddenly, “I’ll do that” Kwangmin said as he took the chairs from her and carried it himself even though it was heavy, “Uh?” she wondered, “Where do you want me to put this one?” he asked as he carried another chair “Over there” MiYu said as she pointed to the left corner “Here?” Kwangmin asked, “On second thought, over there” MiYu said as she pointed to the right corner, “H-Here?” Kwangmin asked once more but then MiYu shook her head and said, “On second thought, put that there” she said, she made Kwangmin put the chairs for how many times in different directions when, “Urgh! I’m tired!” he proclaimed, “Really?” asked MiYu and Kwangmin nodded his head; MiYu grabbed the chair from him and placed it on the right corner then she faced Kwangmin and gave him a fake smile and said “Done” then she left the room, Kwangmin couldn’t believe what happened that’s, he was too tired to go after her.

                On their way home, “Dude, are you okay?” Minwoo asked as he noticed that Kwangmin’s soul was almost coming out of his body, “I-I’m fine~” he replied half heartedly, “Don’t lie to me, I know that you’re already tired” said Minwoo “Uh” Kwangmin said as he turned to him, “You’ve done 50 attempts already in just one week, how can you not be tired at all?” Minwoo added, “But I just don’t get it, why can’t she see that I really want to be her friend?” asked Kwangmin “I’m telling you, she hates everyone INCLUDING YOU” said Minwoo “Don’t say that” said Kwangmin “Why? It’s pretty obvious that she doesn’t want to make friends with you, I mean she still treats you coldly and plus she’s an absolute mean-” “DON’T SAY THAT!” Kwangmin proclaimed, “Uh?” Minwoo was shocked of Kwangmin’s tone, “D-Dude?” he said, Kwangmin realized what he has done and he quickly apologized “S-Sorry” he said then walked ahead “Uh?” Minwoo wondered.

                The next day, there weren’t any classes so Kwangmin decided to roam around the streets of Seoul thinking of more ways on how to make MiYu notice that he wants to be friends with her. While he was walking around and eating ice cream, he spotted a poster that had the title ‘Five Star Magazine’ on it, “Uh?” he wondered as he looked at the poster, “President of Five Star Magazine – Park Minji” he said as he read what was written on the Magazine “Uh, heh, it’s her sister” he added then he continued walking while listening to some music on his earphones as well.

He passed by a candy shop that caught his attention, he went inside and was amazed by how the shop looked like, “Woah~” he said. He decided to look around and saw different kinds of candy, there were candies that were very colorful, there were also sweet and sour candies and of course, the ultimate favorite: Chocolates. He continued to roam around when suddenly “Uh?” he wondered as he saw some lollipops on the counter; he suddenly smiled as he remembered something then he thought of an idea.

When Monday came, he was so excited to go to school, “I’m leaving already!” he proclaimed as he went out of the house; his twin brother, Jo Youngmin who studies in another school, just nodded his head as his brother passed by him, when Kwangmin was already gone “Uh?” he wondered then he realized that his brother has already left. “Argsh, as slow as always” their mother murmured.

Kwangmin was running on his way to their classroom but when he arrived there “Uh, Kwangmin... I think you shouldn’t enter first” Minwoo said as he was blocking the door to their room, “Huh? Why?” Kwangmin wondered as he was trying to take a look inside but Minwoo kept blocking his way, “Yah Minwoo, let me in! I want to see MiYu-ssi already” he proclaimed but Minwoo ignored him and continued to block his way, “YAH! NO MINWOO!” he proclaimed once more and Minwoo suddenly froze in his spot which made Kwangmin grab the opportunity to pass through

“HAHA! I Succeeded!” he proclaimed as he stuck his tongue out at Minwoo, but Minwoo didn’t care; he was more worried about the writings on the board. Kwangmin noticed that the atmosphere was very quiet, he looked around and noticed that his classmates were looking at the board, he turned around saw MiYu looking at the board as well but, she wasn’t happy at all “MiYu-ssi?” he wondered, MiYu saw him and she gave him an angry glare, he slowly looked at the bored and was shocked when he saw what was written on it

“Park MiYu, Die!” “Stay away from our Jo Kwangmin!” “You !” “We hate you!” and more unpleasant words about MiYu that aren’t true, Kwangmin suddenly felt angry that he kicked the table and faced his classmates

“WHO WROTE THIS!?” he proclaimed in an angry voice, both MiYu and Minwoo were shocked when they saw what Kwangmin did. Nobody answered him, they just kept quiet; some were whispering to each other and Kwangmin turned to them, “Did you do this!?” he proclaimed but they shook their heads in a horrified way. Suddenly, “Yah, stop blaming them... they didn’t do it all right?” said MiYu, Kwangmin turned to her with a puzzled face. MiYu released a sigh then grabbed   an eraser and started to erase the writings on the board. Kwangmin was really shocked because she was so calm while in his case, he was the one who was feeling angry and wanted to kick things. He approached her and said “What are you doing?” “Isn’t it obvious? I’m erasing” MiYu answered without looking at him, “Yah, I’m serious!” he proclaimed, MiYu hated how he raised his tone at her so she faced him and said “So am I!” “Uh?” he wondered, “Who do you think you are to suddenly act like you care? You’re not my friend, okay? I barely even know you!” she added then she threw the eraser to the side and went out of the room, as she passed by Minwoo, she noticed that he was looking at her so she gave him a glare, he suddenly looked away and let MiYu pass through, “Yah Park MiYu!” Kwangmin proclaimed as he went after her.

Minwoo looked at the hallway and saw Kwangmin running after MiYu “That’s it, he’s definitely dead” he said to himself.

                Kwangmin continued to run after MiYu and calling her name: “Yah, MiYu-ssi wait!” he proclaimed but MiYu ignored him, “Park MiYu-ssi!” he called once again but still, she ignored him. He suddenly increased his pace and was able to catch up with her; he grabbed her wrist to stop her from walking “Park MiYu!” he proclaimed, “WHAT!?” MiYu responded in an irritated voice, “Yah, what’s wrong with you? Why are you so being calm about what happened? Why aren’t you mad at those who wrote that stuff about you?!” asked Kwangmin “Heh, why should I get angry over some stupid rumor that isn’t even true?” MiYu responded “Uh?” Kwangmin wondered as he realized that what MiYu said was true, then

“And you... what’s your problem? Why are you being annoying!?” MiYu proclaimed “I’m tired of you sticking around and trying to be friends with me?” she added

“What’s wrong with being friends with you? Am I not allowed?” asked Kwangmin

“Yes!” MiYu proclaimed

“WHY!?” Kwangmin demanded for an answer

“Because... because it’s annoying!” said MiYu, she couldn’t think of any other answer

“I’m just worried about you, is that so wrong?” asked Kwangmin

“Yes! It’s annoying and I hate it!” MiYu proclaimed, Kwangmin suddenly got mad about what she said,

“WHY ARE YOU SO STUBBORN!? CAN’T YOU TELL IF A PERSON IS WORRYING FOR YOU OR NOT!?” Kwangmin proclaimed, “I NEVER SAID THAT YOU SHOULD CARE FOR ME! SO WHY DON’T YOU JUST GET OUT OF HERE AND LEAVE ALREADY!” MiYu responded

“NO” said Kwangmin “Uh?” MiYu wondered then he faced her with his serious look on, “I’m not leaving!” he proclaimed.

There was a silence between them, then “Heh. Fine, if you’re not leaving... then I will” MiYu said as she walked down the stairs, “MiYu!” Kwangmin called as he went after her again, they were chasing each other at the stairs, “Yah, be careful!” Kwangmin proclaimed even though he should also watch his way. Kwangmin got easily tired and looked up then he saw a huge pot falling and it was about to hit MiYu, he quickly rushed to her and---

“So, are you happy now?” the little girl asked “M-hm, thank you for this lollipop” the young boy replied while he was the lollipop. “Sure, no problem. I’ll do whatever it takes to see someone smiling again, even if it means that I have to give my lollipop away~” the girl replied and the boy smiled at her “I really hope that we can be great friends” he added, the girl smiled and said “Of course we can!” the boy suddenly felt happy when he heard the girl saying that they can be friends...

“Urgh?” Kwangmin said as he slowly opened his eyes and saw a blurry figure beside him, looking all guilty and worried. “Who?” he said and when his vision got clearer, he widened his eyes as he was shocked to see “M-MiYu?” he said, MiYu heard him and turned to him, he looked into her eyes and noticed the happiness inside her when she heard his voice

“W-What are you doing here?” he asked as he was trying to sit up, “You idiot!” she proclaimed and it shocked him once more, “What were you thinking? You’re so stupid! Why did you have to do that!?” she added “Uh?” Kwangmin wondered then he remembered what happened

FLASHBACK:  There was a silence between them, then “Heh. Fine, if you’re not leaving... then I will” MiYu said as she walked down the stairs, “MiYu!” Kwangmin called as he went after her again, they were chasing each other at the stairs, “Yah, be careful!” Kwangmin proclaimed even though he should also watch his way. Kwangmin got easily tired and looked up then he saw a huge pot falling and it was about to hit MiYu, he quickly rushed to her and “MiYu!” he proclaimed as he suddenly pushed MiYu to the side and he got hit by the huge pot, “What the!?” MiYu proclaimed in an angry voice as she stood up, she was about to yell at Kwangmin but she was shocked to see him lying unconsciously on the floor with the big pot on top of him and there was blood coming out from his head

“YAH!” she proclaimed as she went near him and tried to wake him up, “Wake up!” she proclaimed but it was no use, then she called for help.

They brought him to a nearby hospital and she stayed by his side until he woke up.

-END of FLASHBACK-

“Wait, you stayed here and watched over me until I woke up?” he asked, “Uh” MiYu said and she shyly nodded her head without looking at him, Kwangmin suddenly smiled and said “Thank you!”
MiYu suddenly changed her mood

“What the heck is wrong with you anyway? Why did you have to push me? Why can’t you just let me get hit by that pot!?” she proclaimed

“Uh, are you insane... do you think that I’ll let that happen to you?” asked Kwangmin

“Uh?” MiYu wondered, “You’re my friend... I don’t want anything bad to happen to you” he added and MiYu kept quiet. There was an awkward silence between them, then

“I don’t get it, why do you hate every one so much?” Kwangmin suddenly asked a random question to break the silence

“Why do I hate every one? Heh, it’s because they hate me!” MiYu proclaimed “Uh?” Kwangmin wondered.

“I hate everyone because they don’t understand me at all! Even my so called ‘friends’... they don’t understand me, they never did... that’s why now... I hate having a friend” MiYu added

Kwangmin was shocked of what she said, “M-MiYu-ssi” he said

“What? Do you think if I allowed you to become my friend, you would understand me? Heh, I doubt it” she said then she crossed her arms and looked away, there was another silence between them, then

“I’ll understand you” Kwangmin responded “M-Mwo?” MiYu said as she turned to him, Kwangmin took a deep breath, released it and faced her “I said... I’ll understand you even if I get a hard time. I won’t give up on you, I’ll stay by your side and protect you... what I did a while ago? I’ll continue to do it because... I want to be your friend” he added.

MiYu looked away and said “I don’t get it, why are you so eager to become friends with me? I’m a cold hearted person, everyone is afraid of me and some even hate me... so why are you so interested in being my friend? Have you lost your mind?”

“I don’t think that you’re a scary person at all... I think that you’re just... lonely and sad and I don’t want to see you looking like that” Kwangmin responded, MiYu was shocked of what she heard. She turned to him once more and he smiled at her, which made her slightly blush. He took out something from his pocket and...

“Here” he said as he handed something to her, MiYu looked at her hands and saw a piece of lollipop “Uh?” she wondered then she looked at him, “Remember that day when you gave me that lollipop and agreed to be my friend?” he asked but MiYu kept quiet “I want that day to happen again... but this time, I want that friendship to last forever... not like before... we only became friends for one day but after that day, we never had the chance to talk to each other but I would never forget you... I kept thinking about you and about our friendship... I hope that today... it will be sealed” he added. MiYu didn’t know what to say, she never expected that Kwangmin was actually the young boy whom she saw when she was still in preschool, she was just staring at him

“Uh, MiYu-ssi?” Kwangmin wondered, then MiYu suddenly punched him on the shoulder and she lowered her head, “Ouch! That hurt!” he proclaimed, then “You idiot...” she said as she looked down “Uh?” Kwangmin wondered, “Don’t you dare make me worry about you like that ever again” she added “M-MiYu-ssi... does this mean that you and I are-” “Here, take this... it looks like you need this more than I do since you’re the one who got admitted to the hospital” MiYu said as she gave the lollipop to Kwangmin. Kwangmin suddenly felt happy and he suddenly hugged her

“Thank you MiYu! You’ve accepted my friendship, don’t worry! You can count on me! I’ll be your very best friend~” Kwangmin proclaimed while hugging her, MiYu was shocked at first but then “Yah pabo! You’re injured and yet you’re hugging me, argsh!” she said as she broke the hug, “Uh” said Kwangmin “Do you need anything else? Food or drinks?” she added, Kwangmin shook his head while smiling and said “I’m already happy since you’re now my friend ^^” “Uh” MiYu said as she slightly blushed then looked away

“F-Fine then, I guess no food for you” she said as she was about to leave but then “Matte! IA burger would be nice!” Kwangmin proclaimed, “Sorry, you said that you don’t need anything else so if you need me, I’ll be at the cafeteria eating~” MiYu said as she was leaving

“YAH! PARK MIYU!” Kwangmin called but MiYu was already gone, he released a sigh and said “Well, at least she finally realized that I want to be friends with her and I really feel... happy” he said with a smile on his face then he looked outside the window

“Park MiYu, I, Jo Kwangmin, promise to be your very best friend and will stay by you ‘till the end ^^”
