Luhan’s parents had met Minseok before , when EXO visited Beijing as a group ,with their managers tagging along. moreover, it was the time that papa and mama agreed to go watch their naughty son’s performance. Luhan is always the same little ‘Xiao Lu’ for his mama and most precious son in the entire life of both parents. However, because of Luhan’s stubbornness, their little deer had to be far away from home and face difficulty alone.

 

Mama was very kind to all the members. Each of them came to greet Luhan’s mama, she  patted their shoulders and had some conversations with them in easy Chinese phrases, like ‘Hello, How are you?’  ‘Do you like Beijing?’ or ‘ How was dinner?’ therefore they didn’t need translation. All of them understood Chinese quite well, and it seemed like they had learnt Chinese hard and become more fluent than Luhan had expected. Especially, Oh Sehun who asked his mother so many questions like ‘Are there nice restaurants in Beijing?’ ‘What is the most famous tourist attraction here? Any suggestions?’ . He made her laughed and said that this kid is so clever. Luhan looked over to Zitao who was looking so proud and smacked that Panda’s head.

 

“Don’t overacting” Luhan said.

“ Well, unlike someone, he has learnt from the best.” Tao replied ironically.

 

Luhan glanced at his little bun who only smiled looking at his mother and the members having conversations as if he didn’t not want to interrupt. Luhan had to suppress an urge to push Minseok to the front and make him say something.

 

Anything ! At least some basic Chinese that Luhan had been teaching him for years. Luhan had never wanted him to speak so badly like today. He just wanted his parents to know the presence of his little bun.

 

However, Minseok was still Minseok who never wanted to be outstanding but always support others from the back.

Sigh….. Luhan’s willingness was unsuccessful. Next time, then.

 

 “Baozi”

“Y…Yes” a little bun turned and looked naively to the speaker.

 

It would not have been strange if this name was called by Luhan or other members but this time it wasn’t. Instead, it was the gentle and sweet voice that called this special nickname Luhan gave him.

 

“Round cheeks and fair skin, he really does look like a baozi” mama smiled gently her hand caressing Minseok’s cheeks with love.

 

After the small gathering, the staffs came to accompany Luhan’s parents to the area that the agency provided for the invited guests. Papa pat at Luhan’s back and told him to do his best and mama also touched to his head softly.Luhan was still surprised with his mother’s act of kindness toward Minseok that he couldn’t say anything. Minseok was as speechless as Luhan. His gaze followed the elders until they were out of sight.

 

After that day, mother told Luhan that she and her husband had a chance to visit Korea, she would like Baozi to join them for dinner. She also emphasized that that kid should study Chinese harder. On that day, mama tried to start a conversation with him, in a very simple Chinese, she added, he gave just her a nervous and confused look.

 

 “I won’t learn something like Sa-rang-hae-yo or ahn-nyeong-ha-se-yo for sure. I’m too old to learn, it gives me me headache” mama said.

 

Luhan couldn’t help but laugh at her remark.
Luhan’s mom is a beautiful and lovable, even if she gets older, she is still the most beautiful lady for him.

 

 

 

Luhan is waiting for the day that he will his freedom back. He sighs as he wonders how nice it would be if things can just settle easily just like recoiling with a friend after a silly argument about  a movie they just watched or apologizing after making the neighbor angry.

 

It’s a complicated world we’re living in.

 

The thing is, when the matter involves a large amount of money, no one would just let their source of money go easily.

 

“Please, I’m tired. I’m done with this”    

As if they would listen.

 

The lawsuit is going to make his life even more hectic but there’s no turning back now. There is an old Chinese proverb ‘once you get on the tiger’s back, you have to stay there until the end, until you defeat the tiger for getting down would only make you end up being eaten by the animal. Unless you wait for the right moment or the tiger’s distracted by another prey’. Luhan has always known that the decision to leave EXO was like jumping onto the tiger’s back. He needs to stay strong. He can’t change his mind or give in.

 

Luhan holds his own hand tight, the more he thinks, the guiltier he feels. How have his teammates been? Are they having a rough time?

He wants to apologize not only to EXO but also to the 3 million followers who have given loves and supports as loyal fans.

 

“Sorry, I’m really sorry”

 

Since Luhan, himself, used to be a fan, he knows so well how hurt they’d be. He used to cry so hard when the news broke out,  that there would be only two in TVXQ. Luhan has always been TVXQ fan. The man even came to Korea to follow his dream which was to be like them. Back then Luhan would go to Yonsei in the morning and come back to his room in the afternoon and sit quietly in a tiny room letting his tears fall down as he listened to his TVXQ’s favorite songs in MP3 player.

 

There would no longer be five of TVXQ on the stage anymore. It really hurt.

 

Despite the fact Luhan once cried like crazy and strongly promised himself when he debuted that he would never made the fans disappointed ,but eventually did just what he said he wouldn’t do. He is such a jerk for making the fans hurt. Luhan eats his own word like *Zhōu Yú who spat to the sky and it dropped back down on his face.

...Pathetic

 

The guilt has been making Luhan wanted to punch his face. However, he cannot turn back. There is no path for him to walk back. It is just like when he insist on going to Korea and his his papa disagreed. Papa said that ‘If you decide to leave this house and follow your dream in Korea, don’t come back until you’ve succeeded.’. Luhan was determined as much as he love his dignity. He did it, he became successful, his family accepted his achievement and was proud of him. Luhan is not the kind of person that would take a step back, stepping on his own pride. That was what his old man taught him.

 

Though he knows that he has hurt the fans, he can’t help selfishly hoping that some fans would still believe in him. Even if the number of fans would be much less than he has when he was an EXO member. He still hopes that the some of them would love and accept who he actually is.

 

Luhan felt as if he was brainwashed and his spirit was almost took out. Luckily, he realized and ran away from when he still could. He knew that he could not bear living like that any longer. Not that it was bad, but Luhan just didn’t fit into it. He was not good enough to be there, standing in on the stage smiling to the fans, even if he was suffering inside.

 

Luhan sincerely loves his fans, but he was also taught to love himself.

 

He wants the fans to love him but he doesn’t to want to fool himself. He knows exactly where he belongs.

 

It hurts to think about the hatred he is going to get. People who once was his fan saying ‘I love you oppa!’ might be sending him hurtful messages telling to go to hell right now. The fans must be so disappointed in him that they want to throw stuffs at him shooing him away. They only see him as a betrayer who left the members behind. It hurts but he has to face it. He has to accept it.  

 

“But just to let you know, I also love you.

 

I want you all to love as I am. It may not be perfect, but I don’t want to lie myself anymore,

 

I don’t want the love you give to come from a lie I told.

 

…..Lying by putting on the a mask given by the agency.

 

That was not me. That wasn’t me at all.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now, everything is still the same, no progression on Luhan’s case. The sky is still bright, but big storm and heavy rain is coming soon.

Let it be Xiao Lu!

‘There will be a brighter day after the rain’, papa taught him to be strong  and brave. Now he is at home , whatever happens, he still has a place to stay, a friend to talk and warm hugs from his parents.

 

...But he miss his baozi’s hug.

 

Calling every day, talking every night and texting almost every hour is not enough.

Luhan knows how greedy he sounds but it’s never enough.

 

Yet, Minseok always says it is alright so he believes it is going to be okay.

Minseok and Luhan had never had a big fight. There were only some small childish argument since Luhan loves making up with the sulking Minseok. Those pink and chubby lips would mumble about   complaint on his silly act, just like a goldfish that trying to catch the air bubble in front of him. Luhan thinks Minseok pouty face is so lovely. And when they’ve made up, the smile Minseok gives makes his world a lot more beautiful.

 

They have been together for two years, it is Luhan who always starts it. Teasing Minseok, making him angry and making up with him are Luhan’s routine.

 

‘A man like Luhan is good at nothing but teasing and making up with Kim Minseok.

 

Looking at the ring on his finger makes Luhan think of that round face and soft cheeks. A month ago Minseok went back to Korea with Yi Xing. If he was still in the band, it would have been his place. But if it’s Yixing then it’s okay. Yixing is a nice kid texting from time to time. Too bad he couldn’t meet up with Yixing last time they had a schedule close by.

 

Calling and Facetiming is not enough. Luhan thinks that he’s addicted to Kim Minseok, he wants him all the time and he is suffering from withdrawal symptoms from non-taking it.

 

 

 

“Today, we have a meeting, your outfit will be sent in the next hour, be ready.”  

“Can you order some foods, I’m hungry”

“Sure, coffee too?”

“Get me a grande iced Americano” Luhan replied and hung up.

 

 

His best friend who is also his manager just told him that there are going to be a lot meetings with the seniors this week. Luhan knows that he needs working in China requires a lot of supports. The seniors want Luhan to become ‘China’s little brother’. Behind the beautiful word, it simply means the boy that is adored by all Chinese people.

 

Luhan knows that he and Wu Yifan, the close friend who had trained together and was an ex-member of EXO as well, are approaching Asian entertainment industry as a new premium merchandise of a huge entertainment in the world.

 

Compare to what they left behind? Well, they get more freedom and no more Sasaeng fans following them around.

 

Chinese and Korean celebrities are totally different. They are not forced to overwork, instead, they get to do what they love. Luhan still loves singing, dancing and acting. As he came back to his hometown, he can do anything. He has everything he loves.

 

Except the one he loves.
‘The other half of his heart’

 

“I miss Minseok” Luhan have told himself for a thousand time. If it reached to a million, he would have a sore throat but his longing for the boy won’t. Luhan looks at his platinum ring on his finger wondering why does he miss Minseok so badly today. His heart feels strange as if the instinct is trying to warn him something. It’s so strange. He misses baozi so much, it hurts.

 

“I’m calling to you that I’ll be there in half an hour. Leave the door open, my hands are full of stuffs” said Laogao    

“Okay, got it” Luhan hangs up again. Ugh, this is frustrating! After a few second, his phone is ringing again.. for the third time!.

Luhan doesn’t even look at the screen which is showing longer digits than usual.

 

“Why do you keep calling over and over again? You’re annoying me, dude!” 

 “Right, I will hang up then” Oops! That’s Minseok.

“Minseok-ah, I thought it was…” Luhan is going to say his friend’s name but Minseok cuts him off

“You are with him every day. Why do you need to call him?” it seems like Minseok is not happy about Laogao calling him. Well, let’s say that they don’t really get along.

 

Lao Gao is like Luhan’s other friends , overprotective. Hence, the first time they met wasn’t very impressive. It might also be because of that one time Luhan went out drinking with Lao Gao and other friends, and forgot that he had to work in the next day. Minseok was very angry at Luhan for not being responsible and also at his friends for calling Luhan out.

 

That day, Luhan didn’t tell his friends that he had a schedule in the next morning. He was so glad to see his old friends that he completely forgot about work. That incident led to Minseok disliking his friends. He would avoid going out if Luhan’s friends were going. But, recently, Minseok has opened up as he listens to Luhan more. Minseok’s phone number was also saved in Laogao’s phone so that Lao Gao would be able to call Min-Seok if anything happens to Luhan.

 

In fact, when Luhan was younger, he was very possessive of Lao Gao. Well.. he was just like other kids, being possessive of all his stuffs. But now, there’s only Minseok that he wants to protect.

 

 

“Don’t you have work today?” Minseok asked.

“No, just have some meetings. What about you? Rehearsing?”

“No, I’m going to cafe” Minseok replies, Luhan nods.

“Who is going with you?”

“Jongin”

“I see..” Luhan just responds sulking a little.

 

After his departure, Minseok has become closer to Kim Jongin. He is aware that there are a lot of KaiMin shipper. Minseok’s fansite is also one of them, he’s certain. Well, if they are not, then how could they get the photo exactly when Minseok and Jongin were holding each other arms or styling their hair. Luhan always gets angry like a man with smoke coming out of ears. He actually wanted to leave some comments like “Is it necessary to zoom in like that?” ah Minseok, you have made me crazy.

 

“I don’t really like it” Luhan replies with a pout.

He knows that Minseok will laugh and tell him that he’s being childish. Luhan wants to hear that kind of complaint.

 

“Me neither” MinSeok simply replies.

 

This is weird. Minseok sounds a bit off today. Luhan wants to ask what’s going on but Minseok may not answer. Thus, Luhan doesn’t want to waste their precious time. He smiles to himself and lies down on the bed using his free hand to open his white Macbook Pro and click on the keyboard. The picture on the screen shows their hands holding tightly. It was the one that fans took and posted in SNS.

 

‘Hold hand like this forever’ Luhan likes this caption and this has always been his wallpaper.

 

“Have you eaten yet?”    

“Luhan” Minseok stresses his voice sounding serious.

“Yes?” Luhan responses with gentle and caring voice.

“Are you tired?”

“Why? ”

“I’m so tired.” His voices seems as tired as he said. Maybe, it’s some stressful work schedule or rehearsals. Now, Minseok might sitting hugging his knee in the corner.

“Minseok ah” Luhan calls his precious boy.

 

“Let’s…” Minseok pauses.

 

“Luhan, let’s just break up”

Is that a joke?

It doesn’t sound funny at all.

Luhan is going to be crazy really soon.

No, actually he is! He has gone crazy!

 

 

“I’m going to Korea tomorrow.”

“But you have an appointment.”

“Cancel it.”

“Han, don’t act like a fool”

 

Luhan was screeching when Laogao reached his room. Luhan doesn’t have any will to get dressed and get ready for the upcoming appointment or even drink iced-coffee that his friend offers him. Luhan only sips a little bit and put it down.

 

“I won’t go. This is more important and I need to go now!! ”

“Don’t make it complicated” Lao Gao complains and shakes his head.

His friend has been like this since he met. When Luhan get angry, he is always overbearing and unreasonable to others.

 

“So you’re gonna book the flight for me or let me do it by myself?” 

“Alright, I’ll do it but after today’s work is all done.” Lao Gao compromises. “Contact Cindy, it is not a good idea to stay in hotel ”

“Thanks” Luhan nods and looks at his phone, he has been trying to call back but the other side just won’t pick up! Lao Gao looks at what Luhan is doing and sighs. Actually, Luhan has become much calmer than before, he is able to control his mood very well. There is only reason that the deer is going out of control again.

 

 “Please take care of him” An English message was send to Lao Gao making him figured out their situation. But it’s their personal matter and he doesn’t want to get involved. At least, that is a person his friend has chosen. He knows no one can stop Luhan, it is just impossible to stop thunderstorm.

 

Luhan is calling Cindy , his Chinese friend in Yonsei. She is working as a manager at some shop in Myeongdong. Recently, Cindy is living with her family and has a luxury room for rent .Luhan can stay there without getting caught.

 

“It will definitely be a big deal, if the fans know that you are going to Korea”

“Cancel the flight and book at the counter”

 

Luhan sits down and reply without any concern. He is busy trying to call up same number over and over again. Minseok has turned his phone off . They haven’t talked since that day. His little bun didn’t explain anything after that. He just sighed and said ‘don’t get sick’.

 

 

“Don’t get sick? I’m hurt as hell, Minseok”

 

 

Luhans feels like hitting Minseok, even if he doesn’t really want to do. But if possible, Luhan wants to hit at naughty kid’s .

Minseok makes Luhan anxious now.

 

 

“Mama, Xiao Bao is so naughty!

He is making your son crazy!”

Minseok is not cheating on him.

Minseok does not break up because of that kind of reason. Luhan knows Minseok so well.

 

Luhan calls Park Chanyeol and Kim Jongin but there were no reply from both of them.

He calls Kim Jongdae as well, but it seem like he has changed his number.

 

Oh, Zitao. He should call Tao.

But Luhan heard that Tao just went back home.

 

Then, Oh Sehun.

 

“Minseok hyung is not around. Can I take a message for him?” Sehun answers, his voice is so sleepy. It’s not a late night but why does he go to bed so early? His schedule isn’t busy? Luhan wonders.

“Try calling Tao, hyung. Hyung, are you listening? ”

“Isn’t Tao in Qingdao right now?”

“Nah” Sehun giggles but Luhan ignores “just try”

“Okay thanks” Luhan replies.

“Oh by the way, How have you guys been doing?”

Sehun still giggles as if he is playing with something but turns back to conversation with Luhan.

“Freaking tired, hyung. Very busy but no worries, everyone misses you, they have been doing very well”

“Right, don’t work too much. Take care”

 

Luhan hangs up. He didn’t tell Sehun that he is at the airport. He doesn’t want anyone to know. He just  wants to make sure that Minseok is still in Korea.

 

“Where are you?” Luhan immediately asks when Tao picks up his call.

“Seoul” Zitao answers in a very good mood.“What happened Ge?”

“Where is Minseok? Do you know?”

“I don’t know. I’m with my darling” Tao replies and laughs. Luhan furrows his eyebrows “Our daughter is here too, wanna talk with my sweetie?”

“You are with Sehun?” Tao… you little prick.

“Yup” Damnit!! Luhan exclaims in his mind “I don’t wanna talk with you guys anymore.”

“Minseok hyung is at dormitory. You’re gonna come over or let me tell him to go outside?

Tao knows and seems like he knows more than Luhan expects. Luhan calms himself, breath in again and asks for the helps.

“outside”

“Movie?” Tao asks trickily.

“Yes, same place”

“How on earth would I know where you two went on a date, Ge! Don’t be a stupid old man”

 

Recently, Tao has a sharper tongue. If he doesn't need to depend on Tao, he will be scold him back so hard.

 “Kay. sorry. At Yeongdeungpo time square, midnight round but tell him to be there around 11 pm. I need to talk with him first” Luhan answers.

“What movie?”

“What the hell! You are in Korea. Go to check it. I’m still at the airport.”

Tao laughs “Alright, I will text you back, let me have a sweet time first”

“Whatever!” Luhan hangs up.

 

Zitao is going make an appointment for him. That kid has his own way to persuade Min-Seok to go there. Luhan believes in Zitao because at this time, it is only Zitao that he can rely on.

 

If it is not successful, the merit that he did for Tao to have some sweet times with Sehun as well as satisfy TaoHun shipper, it will change to a revenge.

Is he nervous about the breaking up Minseok request?

Not really, he doesn’t think that Minseok really wants to break up.

But he is worried about Minseok.

Minseok does everything well, He is strong and never shows his weakness to anyone.

In the day that Minseok felt so exhausted he would look so fragile as if he would collapse.

It is his fault.

He is selfish for walking away.

 

Minseok ah, I miss you.

Sometimes, love and care might not keep the relationship stable if one person does it alone.Lu and Min have gone through tough time. What will happen next? Will Luhan make it?
