Sounds funny, right?

 

This is so sudden that Luhan is not sure whether he actually has a careful thought or not.

 

 

Flying in a first-class Korean airline again is something that Luhan hasn’t been expecting. It is not on his schedule at all, does not even involve with the lawsuit against his previous company, his legal representative or arrange on the agreement that …

 

But it’s because “that person” just told him 

“let’s break up” that’s it.

That’s it!

 

 

Previously, Luhan had never thought that this problem would occur, he believed that the long distance could not destroy or ruin the relationship between him and Minseok. His Minseok is not that kind of person, for five years that Luhan has known him, for two years that we have been “more than friends” and throughout the time that Minseok is the only one for Luhan. The only one who can influence his world to either turn left or right in the way that “His Kim Min-Seok” wants.

 

 

Luhan knows that something must have happened making Minseok say that.

“I’m so worried about you” Luhan mumbles to himself

 

 

 

His finger touches phone screen again, he looks at the screen and clicks on that person’s name.

Luhan recored Minseok’s name in Mandarin after he bought new phone and it’s only him that knows, even Minseok has never seen this name. Even if Minseok sees it, it doesn’t really matter because he will not understand its meaning anyway.
(*Little BaoBao means precious which is used to call  a baby child to show that he/she is precious  to family or means darling, baby darling)

Luhan knows that he seems raving right now. His eyes covered behind an expensive sunglasses, glances to his friend who is already in a deep sleep sitting next to him, and his other side is an empty seat.

 

 

All cabin crews have their things to do. Well, no one is paying attention to him. Luhan stretches his body, the sleeping pill he took before flight departure makes him feel sleepy. He wonders to himself why Sunday flight is less crowded than it supposed to be.

 

 

What’s wrong with him?

 

 

There is something going on and Minseok does not tell him. Luhan is in his thought, while his eyelids became heavier and his head is still repeatedly thinking of Minseok, who hasn’t given him any explanation. Minseok always keeps everythings to himself and sometimes Luhan hates it, the silence Minseok uses with everyone including him.

 

 

But Luhan is Minseok’s special one!

 

 

Minseok, please don’t act as if I’m like others,

 

 

Don’t make me feel like I am not yours.

 

 

Luhan knows that Minseok is not the type that would boldly speak out his mind.  If you’re not right next to him, it’d be so hard to know what’s in this boy’s mind.

 

 

Previously, Luhan had never thought that he, himself, had done something wrong or made a wrong decision about withdrawing from Exo in the middle of the tight schedule. He felt sorry to everyone, the staffs, all members, his teachers and all seniors that had given him the supports. He was sincerely apologetic for causing troubles and disappointing some people but not for his decision. All members understood his situation, his health condition and his actual desire. They know that Luhan had been enduring it for years and eventually, he couldn’t take it anymore.

 

 

He did not even know when everything got more and more overwhelming . It is like limestone which stuck in the bottom of his heart. Luhan lost the interest of being an idol singer. He knew that he was not fit for being a Korean idol with so little privacy.  There are things he wants to do and learn besides the schedule. Also, Sasaeng fans were another reason that makes Luhan felt tired of suppressing his anger. He knew himself that he is short-tempered and irascible.

 

 

It was not easy for Luhan to cope with or even get used to it. He knew that he is impulsive, and because of his personality, he might hurt others unintentionally, including some fans. He treasures the fans who really love him but he needs some distance for the sake of his privacy and also the safety of people around him. He doesn’t want to hurt others, even unintentionally.

 

 

When did it start?
When did he actually know that being an idol is not for him?

 

 

 Luhan admits that he has some bad sides, he is a self-willed and blunt person. He did not really keep the image that the company created which is to be calm and cheerful like a little prince. His actual smile isn’t that sweet and he can’t keep acting cute when he’s angry especially when he has something to protect, Kim Minseok.

 

 

Every time Minseok was in trouble, Luhan would be too impulsive. Sometimes he overreacted and even started a conflict with the staffs that didn’t take care of Minseok well enough that Minseok ended up getting injured. It is not all their fault. Luhan blamed himself. He was at fault. He couldn’t protect his Minseok.

 

 

Whenever Luhan thought that way, Minseok would always rebuked him. His baby, Minseok, was not satisfied with Luhan’s thought at all. Minseok said that he IS a man. He does not need to be protected, or be someone’s responsibility.

 

 

But how can he not be like this? He had tried but he could not help it. He has never thought of Minseok as weak or fragile but rather, Minseok is something he loves and treasures the most.

 

 

   No…… he is the one he loves and treasures the most.

 

 

Luhan never ever wants to see Minseok getting hurt or uncomfortable that’s why he was always overprotective when he was still in the group. And because of Luhan, Minseok had to apologize others so many times. Minseok was angry that Luhan was not mature enough,

 

 

Even though Minseok knew why Luhan left.

He was still the one who accepted and understood Luhan the best,

Actually, the one who made Luhan decide his own path is Minseok…..

Minseok had seen and felt all these times. The difficulty, and discomfort of not being himself that Luhan had been bearing. Luhan never hid them from the one he trusted most. His feelings, his tears, and sweats from exhaustion, he never hid it from Minseok. Luhan never cried in front of others but Minseok. He would lie down to the soft lap and let out the tears of tiredness silently.

 

 

Minseok did not like it at all. He was happy when they were together holding hands, smiling at each other on the stage but the life of being an idol was not all about those happy moments and Luhan was not suitable with it, Minseok knew it all  too well.

 

 

After Luhan graduated from the college, he learnt acting and had the interest in it. The time that Luhan’s  first movie started filming in China was the first and longest time that they had been apart ever since they’ve met.
Luhan might not be thinking anything back then but Minseok finally understood. A lot of things had made the determined Minseok made up his mind.

 

 

 Luhan could do more than this. Not as an idol but as an actor.

 

 

Apart from the movie, Back to 20, there were drama and other movie roles offered to Luhan but they got rejected by the agency. Minseok understood the company decision, looking from the perspective of Xiumin, the member of an idol group, it was reasonable.

 

 

But looking from the other point of view,  Kim Minseok as a normal person who think that the future of Luhan is not any less important. Luhan’s dream must go on.

 

 

From what Minseok has seen, Luhan can do anything as if he was gifted by god. Luhan has everything that Minseok ever wanted, a beautiful voice and skillful dancing. Minseok wanted to be like that but in comparison, he had to work really hard for it.

 

 

It is the fact that the god never gives everything to everyone. Life isn’t fair. To get what they want, some people need to work harder than others. Minseok is that kind of person, he was not born talented but he is full of ambition.

 

 

Minseok never feels offended. He enjoys it. Feeling the change and progress from his hard work makes him proud.

 

 

And because of that, for Minseok, Luhan is not a rival but an inspiration and someone to fall back on.
Minseok had always thought that it would be nice if he and Luhan could perform together until the day of big performance at Tokyo dome, the stage that Luhan and Minseok had been dreaming of, they wanted to be like TVXQ, they both used to talk about that.

 

 

It would be nice if that day came but would be the best if the person he cares the most didn’t have to rely on sleeping pills every time that they have to take a flight to perform overseas. They had fly across the countries and came back to Korea for rehearsals and took another flight on the next day.

 

 

How long it has been like this?

 

 

They, Exo’s members, have been on the same boat. Everyone is okay with it as it is what they chose but the patience and limitation for each person are not the same whether it’s about health condition or mental health. But for Luhan, it is both of them. Luhan was really at his limit.

 

 

Minseok hates it when he had to stand behind Luhan patting his back in the bathroom. Luhan vomited a lot despite his energetic look on stage and his playful acts with the. When he came inside the room and shut the door with only two of them. Luhan would sprint to the bathroom and sit exhaustedly beside the toilet flush. This was due to the side-effects of sleeping pills that sometimes made Luhan so nauseated that Minseok could see it on his face. Luhan had to induce vomiting by sticking fingers down his throat to make himself feel better.

 

 

Luhan would live shorter if he continuously  forced himself like this. It was not just because the acrophobia and the pills but it was also because of his mental health.

 

 

If Luhan was unhappy, how could Minseok be happy?

 

“Are you sure with your decision?” it was the night before Luhan gave the answer to the company in the next morning.

 

“What do you think, Minseok? I let you choose.” Luhan asked for opinion.

 

“It is your life not mine, don’t say it depends on me” Minseok replied. Minseok walked and sat on his bed and Luhan followed him. A little finger pointed that the floor like a command to Luhan. Luhan smiled and sat on the floor as he was ordered. He leaned back to the bedside. Minseok sat on the bed with towel prepared to dry Luhan’s hair.

 

“But half of my life…” Luhan breathed deeply before continuing “half of my fifty is you”

 

“Don’t say something irrelevant” small hands were still drying the wet hair of Luhan. Minseok is not talkative but knew how to please him. Luhan snuggled at a fair skin Minseok’s leg.

 

“Do you really want me to go?” Luhan asked with a bit of disappointment.

 

“No, not at all”

 

“Well…”

 

‘then I’d stay’

 

“but you should” Minseok immediately said. It sounded so forceful that Luhan had to look up at Minseok instantly. In  Minseok’s eyes, Luhan saw the determination. His Minseok was serious.

 

“You are so cruel” Luhan said.

 

“I don’t want you to die young” Minseok grabbed Luhan’s hand and hold it. On Luhan’s finger was the platinum ring that he always wore outside the schedule. The coupled one was with Minseok.

 

“I want us to live with more than fifty years or even more than a hundred years, that would be nice as well”

 

“You want us to live to together? Then why do you want me gone?  ”

 

“Because right now I want you to have some rest and when we get older, we still can live together” Minseok pulled Luhan’s hand and placed it on his cheek. The atmosphere was surrounded by silence. This was nice so we should let it be like this for a while, right?

 

“You are crazy”

 

“I was under your influence. ” Minseok kissed softly at Luhan’s ring finger where he wore the ring.

 

“so I engage you beforehand” it is Luhan’s turn to pull Minseok’s hand and hold it.

 

“When will the wedding be, then?” Min-Seok laughed

 

“No idea” Luhan smiled and replied. He still felt shy and his heart was racing when he saw that lovely smile on the others’ face. “But if we are still not married, I will engage over and over again, be prepared for all the engagement gifts you’re gonna get , just in case you may forget”

 

“Really? ” Minseok did not say anything further but smiled and held Luhan’s hand tighter. Then, he bent down to get a kiss from a person below. It was light but so soft as well as sweet.

 

A kiss to promise that they will remain the same, waiting for the day that they can be together and forever.

Before his birthday in the first year of their relationship. Luhan said that the platinum ring was a present. However, after that, the lovely liar confess that it was actually a gift for engagement that his dad and mom acknowledged. Minseok giggled to himself, he knew that Luhan was just joking with him. But Luhan did not stop, he kept saying and showing the receipt from China UnionPay card to show that it was from his parent’s money not company’s credit card which meant his parent actually knew about it, as he claimed.

 

 

 Minseok did not want to pay much attention to his nonsense speech, he looked away telling himself that his cheeks were red from the hot weather! No! He wasn’t blushing at all!

 

 

Minseok does not wear the couple ring often since it is not a good idea to be too obvious. Some of fans may know that two rings were bought at the same time and were designed as couple rings. The fans can be too smart and observant. They can also smartly build up a whole story just from some fragments of information and that makes Minseok worried. The number of Lumin shipper , compared to Hunhan shipper, wasn’t even half of it.

 

 

Of course, Minseok does not want to cause a scene by revealing their relationship. Some fans might be hurt and disappointed by that. The Fans should be happy as his work as an idol is to pass on the happiness and smile to everyone.

 

 

For that matter, Luhan and Minseok had already discussed. And thanks to Tao and Sehun, their lovely little brothers, who always helped stirring up the rumors. Luhan always told Minseok that though, he and Tao always childishly bicker, Tao is actually very reliable. However, Luhan was amused that he had made Tao a brand Cartier slave just because he begged Tao to cover up for him and Minseok once.

 

 

Because “the spy” in SSTV told Luhan that he had to hide their rings carefully. If someone took pictures and posted them on website, it might become viral and this could be a serious problem if the seniors in administrative section consider it as an impact on their marketing.

 

 

However, it was very lucky for Luhan who had been given a lot of love and also thanks to his Kim Minseok who’s loved by many that he got the support as well.

 

 

Their relationship was not unknown to media or even Exo team staffs as Luhan was the one who made it obvious.

He might not tell everyone that they are in relationship but anyone could see . They called it “썸” (Som).

The weather was fluctuated. Although summer is coming, how come the atmosphere around him was freaking cold like this.

“Why can’t you talk to me politely? I am your hyung!”

 

“Are you respectful?” Tao laughed when he saw Luhan’s eyebrows tie together. Then for sure, Tao’s head got slapped by his beloved hyung. “oh !!” Tao exclaimed loudly.

 

“If you make any more noises, you will definitely get hit again, Tao” Luhan said, his hand covering Tao’s mouth, scowled at him and let him cry under his hand.

 

“Your Luhan hyung is kind, Tao. Be nice to me, I will get you some snacks”

 

“You are so damn kind”

 

 “What?” Luhan scowled at Tao again and his hand moving ready give the younger’s head another slap.

 

“Saranghae, Luhan hyung” Tao used his two hands to make a heart shape, his neck bended short like a turtle. He felt like his martial art skills were suddenly useless when he looked at Luhan’s muscular legs. It’s not smart to make Luhan angry.

 

“I love you too, bastard” Luhan pat Tao’s head. Tao looked at the floor and thought of what is actually on his hyung’s mind? This act of kindness is not usual for the person in front of him! Is he going to ask for a favor or something ?

 

“Go to get a couple Cartier for yourself and Sehun” Luhan said taking out his wallet. Zitao saw a lot of   50,000-Won banknotes and cheques which made him excited. He looked at his hyung, smiled sweetly and massaged his hyung eagerly.

 

“You are so kind, hyung. You are my favourite hyung, you know that, right? ”

 

Luhan laughed and handed him a piece of paper. Tao smiled and raised his hands to salute in Chinese tradition. Then, he waved goodbye to his handsome hyung and went back into the building.

 

Just like a prince in fairy tale, ZiTao imagined beautiful and elegant wings coming out of his hyung’s back . Today, Lu hyung was so handsome just like a prince that he could never imagine before. A Big smile plastered on Tao’s face throughout every step that he walked away from his hyung.

 

Until he found out a piece of paper that he really thought it was a cash cheque,

Luhan is always stingy. If it is not for Minseok. Luhan is willing to spend for no one.

When the news was released on the newspapers, the Internet and TV about Luhan’s Korean agency contract termination , Luhan have been home for weeks. At home, his mother’s cook is still as delicious foods as before. He does not stay in the same house with his Papa and Mama. For the sake of his convenience, he decided to buy an apartment room and live alone, but he still visits his Papa and Mama every day like Chinese tradition.

 

 

He still does not get along very well with his Papa but his old man listens to his opinions more than before. Xiao Lu is all grown up. Papa is also not as scary as he was. It may be because Papa has gotten older, his hands that used to look so powerful changed as the time goes by.

 

 

The first day Luhan went back home after he got a permission to have a rest due to sickness, he went to see the doctor and came back to stay home. His Papa sat close to him and they had a conversation about how his life was back in Korea and the tiredness Luhan never let his parents knew. Luhan listened to his Papa more as well as Papa was less dictatorial to Luhan and calmer than before. Luhan held his old man’s wrinkled and shaking hand. His Papa had really gotten a lot older.

 

 

Papa in these days is not a strong man who is ready to defeat anyone, not Papa who can protect Xiao Lu anymore. But it is actually the time Xiao Lu protect and take care of him.

 

 

  “That boy, his name is Ming-sok, right? Ahh it is so hard to pronounce”

 

  “You can call him Xiumin. It’s his Chinese name”

 

  “Then what do you call him? ” Mama asked when they had dinner together.

 

  “Baozi”

 

“Ah Xiao Lu’s Xiao bao, I got it”

Mama joked. She never asks what kind of relationship that he and Minseok have been in, but she watches the news and kept his photos even more than some fans. Luhan knows that women sense is no joke, especially  his mama, who always asks him about Minseok, while there are still ten other members she can talk about!

 

 

Is Xiao Bao naughty? Or is Xiao Lu naughtier? Mama asked.

 

Luhan always answered that Xaoi Bao is the naughtiest one! He even got Luhan a headache.

Note ;  the special thing I found from being LuMin / XiuHan shipper nowadays, it is not about how popular they are but how happy I am to see their friendship. They were together not by destiny but by their own decision to follow their dream, even if one of them had made a decision to follow the new path. Luhan may have given a huge disappointment to some fans but not for the one he trusts, the one beside him in his tiring days. Their relationship is beyond our imagination, fanfiction is just what we want and believe their wonderful relationship would be. The reality may not be the same, there may be good and bad days for both LU and Min. But, just remember, in the darkest days, LuMin shipper like myself hopes that LU and Min’s beautiful friendship will be luminous help them find their way out to the bright and beautiful days again.
