Sometimes Namjoon couldn’t help but question the sanity of the people who work for and around him, wondering if they suddenly had a lapse of both mental stability and capability, whenever they were forced to create labouring activities and outings for them to do on their variety shows.

None of which had anything to do with exposing their music or themselves as a music group, but more to do with extremities and challenges they should face for the entertainment of their paying fans and he didn’t mind, not at all, he loved their fans but this was too much.

It was way too much, that he; who wasn’t afraid of much, was shaking in his boots, his voice raising by at least two octaves as he voiced his complaint.

It was useless even if six out of seven of the expressed their adamant displeasure, with the obvious exception of Jungkook; because the teens of this generation are born with a ‘bravery’ chip installed in their bodies, they were still going to have to do it, or at least try.

This was what he supposed was the production teams attempt to comfort them, without understanding that you literally cannot comfort a person out of their nerves, then expect them to bungee off a ‘63 metres’ high ‘anything’ and be fine with it, because that certainly wasn’t anywhere near okay.

They’d split them up into two groups, him, Taehyung, Seokjin and Jungkook in one and the rest in the other group.

Namjoon couldn’t help but heave a sigh of satisfaction at the choice of grouping for this particular task, knowing that he wouldn’t be the first bait ruthlessly thrown off, with Seokjin who’d reluctantly go first being the eldest and feeling somewhat obligated to do so and Jungkook who just wanted to experience the thrill.

It was a harsh reality but he couldn’t help but be happy that he was the only fourth eldest, rather than sacrificing himself to ease the team as a leader, he’d rather step aside and save himself from his fears. Namjoon felt bad but not enough to exchange places, even as he saw the fright rising in their members’ expressions, so much that they could barely process the words said to them.

“What will you say as you jump?” he asked turning away from the rising crane of hell that was taking the next member away from them, forcing a smile on his face despite the slight shake of his leg, his mind entirely desperate on focusing elsewhere, anywhere but away from the fact eventually, soon enough it will be his turn to fall and he still wasn’t ready.

“I don’t know…” Breaking out of his reverie just catching Namjoon’s words, he’d responded not having enough time to bother thinking of a motto or something interesting to say when he’d jump, excitedly waiting for his turn.

They sat in silence for a brief moment, before Namjoon thought of something to make light of the situation and bring the tension back to its normal state, something that would bring them to the same level, him off his ground of fears and Jungkook off his high of enthusiasm

“I recommend, ‘Namjoon I love you’” Namjoon countered, making the youngest stare at him in what appeared to be a puzzled expression, yet Namjoon though it was creative, humorous and unique, something that no one else would say; except for maybe his string of exes who’d probably say the complete opposite to his face; if they didn’t slap it first.
