You are really trying your best not to be that socially awkward friend who stays in the corner muttering the phrase “I hate parties” every minute while carefully sipping on her first drink that will probably last for an hour with all the ice melted. And you must say that you are doing pretty well with that. You can’t believe that you are actually socializing and roaming around talking to people you don’t know. When you arrived at the place about an hour ago with Jimin, you were welcomed firstly by Taehyung who was waiting at the front door. He then gave you a small hug as a greeting. Then he led you inside while resting his left hand over your shoulders, which you have quite learned to be comfortable of. Namjoon and Hoseok were the ones who captured your eyes first. Maybe because they were the people you only know from the crowd. Namjoon said that he was happy that you made it. “Of course,” you said, “you are my friend now who invited me so who I am to miss this.” You smiled after saying those words. What you said was true. You really came to enjoy the party and not because you were just asked by a friend of your boyfriend. After your greetings with the two, Jin next spotted the three of you. Behind him was a beautiful girl with black long hair and puffy cheeks, which you found cute and adorable. But you also gotta say that her body was bomb. “Hello Jangmi-ssi,” Jin greeted you. He looked so handsome with his hair push-backed and now dyed blond. You then noticed his hands curling around the waist of the girl who was now beside him. “This is my girlfriend, Bom,” he said. Taehyung was the first one who greeted Bom, “Hi noona.” You then introduced yourself and so as Jimin. “Omo! You are so pretty Jangmi-ah,” she said with a happy tone while crushing you into a hug. These were the times where you would feel awfully awkward. But to your surprise, you found yourself hugging the girl back. Her bright character was adorable and you wondered if you could be friends with her. She then gave you a drink. The music was too loud that you had barely understood the words that she said. But you were sure that she said something about this drink that wouldn’t let you get drunk that easily so you happily obliged and took a taste from it. You contemplated for a second if what Bom had given you was a mere cup of soda but then you feel the foreign taste of alcohol reeling at the back of your throat as an aftertaste. It wasn’t as strong as the normal liquors you have tasted and you concluded that this drink wouldn’t let you get drunk so hard. Bom was still by your side, chatting about herself and occasionally asking the basics from you. You learned that Jin and she have been together for about three months already. She is a noona to Jin, who is actually the oldest one in the group, so you wondered how older she was to you. She said that she is completing her master’s degree while Jin is in the last year of his undergraduate degree. Of course you have said that you are Taehyung’s girlfriend and that is you’ve only been with him for about a week. And that is how you find yourself with Jungkook’s company right now. “Noona,” he starts, “I didn’t know that you will really show up tonight.” You don’t know why he is amused to your appearance at the party when you made yourself clear that you would go when Namjoon asked you that day, wherein he was undoubtedly present. But more to that, you can’t remove to your mind what Taehyung said before, about Jungkook actually liking you. And how he gets what he wants, which you already have an experience before. And you are just scared that this kid will try something weird to you. He then moves closer to you, too close that you can feel his alcohol-reeking breath fanning over your cheeks. You try to step back but he is now holding your waist as he turns you completely, now facing him. “Let’s dance noona.” That is more of a statement than a request. You half-heartedly comply with his “request” as you try to find either Taehyung or Jimin on the crowd. You are sure that they will help you out of this situation if they have noticed it. To your dismay, you fail to see Taehyung on the crowd. However, you spot Jimin at the far end of the room, together with another person you reckon is Yoongi, due to his not-so-tall stature, which makes him looks like he has the same height with Jimin, and his ash-gray hair. They are busy talking about something from the DJ’s place and you realize that Jimin won’t be noticing you yet soon. Fortunately, Jungkook is not doing anything funny so far. Besides from his one hand on your waist, as his other is occupied by his drink, he hasn’t touched you anywhere inappropriate. But his eyes are the ones which make you feel uncomfortable. His stares are overwhelming and he isn’t even saying anything. You wonder if that is alcohol that making him act like this because he’s naturally chipper and confident, not this serious and intimidating one. That’s when you wonder if this kid can even drink alcohol legally, considering he’s still underage. But you guess that there is nothing you can really do to stop him so you just brush off your thoughts. It takes another three sways when the music changes into something more upbeat. The crowd shouts and everyone starts to dance in the living room. As the chorus of song comes, the people around you form a crowd around someone who is proudly showing off his dancing skills. You and Jungkook take a closer look and see that it is Hoseok who is hitting the dance floor with his impeccable dance moves. The people cheer loudly and you find yourself cheering Hoseok’s name for a good half minute when the song changes again and the floor is now taken by another incredible dancer. You squeeze your way to greet Hoseok. You are surprised to see his dancing. You always have a thing for dancing (and dancers) but you never really tried it and you just contented yourself by watching other people dance. Hoseok easily recognizes you. “Have you seen my dance?” he asks proudly. “Yes! I didn’t know you can dance that well!” you happily compliment him. Then he looks around as if searching for someone. You ask him what it is and he corrects you by saying, “Who is it,” while smiling sheepishly. You chuckle at his remark. You lean your face towards his and whisper to his ear, completely understanding the situation, “So who’s this girl?” He looks around again and suddenly stops. You follow the direction where his eyes are staring and find a group of people playing beer pong. You notice a black-haired girl arranging the cups. She is wearing a crop top and shorts which show her defined abs and toned legs. You wonder whether she is an athlete because of her figure. Or maybe she is a dancer! You think. If she is then she and Hoseok will be a cute couple. “Come on lover boy!” You tell Hoseok as you drag him towards the table. Jungkook is now long forgotten. You grin at yourself as you think that this night is going to more interesting. “Who wants to play?” you hear the girl asks the crowd. You immediately raise your hand, and Hoseok’s, “We will!” while flashing your tipsy smile. “Okay then,” this girl says while handing a pingpong ball to a cute guy behind him. You then realize that the girl must be thinking that you will be playing with Hoseok so you do the honor of being a reliable friend. “I won’t be playing with this er,” you say while pushing a smitten Hoseok (who by the way, still can’t erase his smile on his face that it starts to be a creepy one already) away from you. You make your way to this guy whose eyes are sparkling. You look at Hoseok who winks secretly at you. You just smile at your antics. The game starts and you are against the girl and your teammate is against Hoseok, who seems still lightheaded. You have learned that the girl’s name is Minzy, and she is indeed a dancer, while the guy beside you is Luhan. Apparently, Minzy is an expert in beer pong that she has managed to shoot three balls consecutively at her every turn while you just scored your first just now. Luhan tries to snatch your third cup saying that he’ll drink it for you since he hasn’t drunken one yet because obviously, Hoseok is busy getting Minzy’s attention to play competitively.
