Glad You Came

Published: 07 - 01 - 2016

Now, from here on out I have to warn you for some mature language and scenes. Not that kind of mature, unfortunatelly. Just... Some people may find it rather offensive. It's all only for the story. Let's move on...

Awkward. Very awkward indeed.

The next day turned out to be a solo mission, but done in pairs. And for Deanna, things were about to get so much harder.

The Monday couple was building up their reputations once more. So did the Easy Brothers who hadn’t showed up lately. Haha had to decide whether to pair up with a beautiful woman or with someone that, height-wise, he was comfortable with. After much deliberations and minor conflict with Jaesuk, he chose his hyung, Jongkook.

And now, awkwardly none of them were talking. Deanna was busy driving the car and Jaesuk was busy with his phone. One time they started a conversation about the traffic, but it was ended as quickly as it was started.

A beep echoed inside the car. Jaesuk scrolled down through his phone. At the same time, Deanna took the opportunity to glance at him from the camera screen. She watched as he very carefully read the message.

Jaesuk-ssi, the plan is set. Me and Jiho will go to Singapore this afternoon. Jiho is very excited and I thank you for letting him have this trip. We’re scheduled to be back in five days. Jiho said he will get you something.  It’s a secret. Once again thank you and take care. – Na Kyungeun

Suddenly Jaesuk let out a deep grunt and snarled to himself.

Honestly he didn’t like the idea that much. He just couldn’t get over the fact that they were going without him. Looking back, they might not travel often because of his increasing in popularity, he said it himself. But it still hurt him one way or another. And now he couldn’t do anything but to fake a cheerful emoji and pressed the sent button.

The phone beeped again. Kyungeun had sent a picture of Jiho packing their suitcases. That picture could make his day better. Seeing his son’s bright smile should make a father proud. But the reality told another story. The photo was more than enough to actually disappoint him. He sighed deeply and shook his head in annoyance.

“Oppa gwenchana?”

Jaesuk flinched and abruptly turned to face the woman who had been sitting there, watching him heavy in thoughts. Jaesuk barely remembered that she was there the whole time.

“Oh, gwenchanayo,” he shrugged and looked around, “Why are we stopping?”

“Uh, red light,” Deanna raised an eyebrow, still looking at the now confused man.

“Oh,” was his only answer.

“Oppa jinjjayo gwenchana?” Deanna frowned at the lack of response, “You know you can talk to me if you want. Since...err, I’m the only one here.”

“Eh aniyo, everything is fine—,”

“Oppa, I’m sorry but I already knew what happened,” Deanna cut in before he could ever blink. Jaesuk squinted his eyes in slight disbelieve, but everything in this world was possible. He just nodded and stayed silent, as he knew what was going to be said, “I’m sorry, Oppa.”

“Aniyo, it’s okay,” he nodded and put on a small reassuring smile, “And actually, I already know you knew. Kwangsoo had told me.”

“Ne?!”

The look on her face was blank enough to make the middle age man laugh. Deanna saw, for the first time of the day, a very genuine laugh. She couldn’t help but chuckled along just when the light turned green.

“And since when Kwangsoo told you?”

“About few minutes after he told you, I think. At least that was what he said.”

Deanna scrunched her face once she remembered the moment when she and Kwangsoo were at the elevator and he was busy with his phone.

“Oh, I see,” Deanna nodded, “So, I guess this secret is widely known, oppa?”

“No. Not many know about this, just some relatives and couple of good friends of mine.”

Deanna raised an eyebrow and smirked, “So, I’m considered as your good friend now, eh?”

“Why not?! It’s not bad a bad thing to have a friend from America, moreover an international supermodel friend.”

“Yah oppa, I’m flattered,” Deanna laughed, gesturing her free hand on her chest to show gratitude, before turning her attention back on the road, “But, if I can ask, what happened?”

“Well,” he took the time to think and she didn’t mind waiting, “We were, after all, two different heads. Crossed opinions, we decided that it was best to separate.”

“Hm, I get the point,” Deanna nodded, suddenly reminded the time when she and her recent ex broke up, “And how Jiho responded to it?”

At a moment Jaesuk’s breath hitched slightly, but he eased off, “As you heard from Kwangsoo, Jiho is now staying with his mother. But a couple of times in a month I visit them, often buying him things. Although he is still a young age he understood so much. It shocks me still.”

“It seems that he grew up too early, don’t you think oppa?”

“You know, kids these days. But I’m proud of him no matter what,” Jaesuk smiled, already feeling proud just by thinking of his son, “Yah, Deanna-yah?”

“Ne?”

“Can you keep this as a secret? At least until I want to announce it.”

“Ah andwae, I’ll tell nobody. I promised with my heart,” Deanna nodded and made a cross on her chest.

“Is that how you promise things in US?” Jaesuk copied her gesture and crossed his heart.

“Nah, it’s just some people like me,” Deanna shrugged, “But really, I won’t tell anybody.”

“I appreciate that. Gomawoyo.”

“Anytime,” Deanna answered back, “It surprises me though, on my first days on Running Man, I already know things I never knew. I feel...special.”

“Yah! I remembered you said that on your commercial!”

“Eh, ha ha ha! You remembered? Wow, I didn’t know you’re those updated men, oppa.”

“Ey, I may old but I’m not that old. I’m still living here,” Jaesuk made out a joking grunt, but soon chuckled anyway, “And honestly I didn’t watch your commercial, I just guessed.”

“Ah oppa?!”

“No, no. Just kidding, Deanna-ssi,” Jaesuk laughed and waved her off, “By the way, I didn’t realize you’ve been driving for a long time. Wanna switch?”

“Ani, I’ll be fine,” instead Deanna shook her head, “Although I’m struggling to keep up with this GPS. The roads, I’m not familiar with. What time is it, oppa?”

“About eight-twenty six.”

“Hmm, it has been twenty minutes though.”

As if on cue Jaesuk’s phone started to ring rigorously. And when he talked to the person on the other side of the phone, he immediately scanned the GPS. Soon enough he couldn’t help but to laugh hard, leaving her in dazed to the unknown.

“Deanna-yah?”

“Waeyo?”

Jaesuk put on his goofy yet annoying ear-to-ear grin and explained, “Not to be rude, Deanna-yah, but turns out you’ve been following that empty four-by-four the whole time.”

“Yes. What’s wrong with it?”

“Yah, don’t you get it? We’re following the wrong car!”

“Oh! JINJJAYO?!”

Since the GPS incident Jaesuk decided to drive to the next game. And Deanna didn’t give more comments about it. Jaesuk already stated about her inability to read map during the filming and she excused by saying she was less familiar with the streets. But of course to heat things up Haha dissed and shooed her back to America. And so their conflict continued.

“Oh, oppa! Igo! Running Man flag,” Deanna pointed out to the staff in yellow suit holding the RM banner, “Is that a swimming pool?”

“Ah, geuraeji. Where should we park then?” his question was answered immediately by the staff showing direction to the parking lot.

“Oppa, what are we going to do in there?”

“I don’t know. PD-nim can make us do anything, really,” Jaesuk let out a short snort and chuckled, “And eventually we will get wet.”

“Ah geurom,” Deanna nodded, “Oppa, I want to ask you something, can I?”

“Mwoyo?”

And so she asked the unexpected question.

And he laughed at the unbearable question.

After some serious laughs and minor explanation, the two of them went into the building, followed by other teams, and soon was ordered to get changed into t-shirts and shorts.

“Yah, I want to tell you something!”

“Ah oppa, andwae,” Deanna pleaded, feeling red faced already.

“Waeyo? What’s wrong?” Seokjin asked.

“I couldn’t believe Deanna-ssi can be so dimwitted,” Jaesuk went on, embarrassing her more, “She told me that she once had watched an episode with pool game. And then she asked me a question; ‘Oppa, do you really only have one underwear that day?’”

All the cast burst out laughing at the unexpected answer. And Deanna felt like she was shrinking behind all of them.

“Yah, Deanna-yah why did you ask that?” Jongkook blurted out first.

“Aniya, oppa. When he said that, his face was so convincing. I couldn’t help it,” Deanna giggled sadly at her own answer.

“Ah, I have an idea. Let’s all give hyung underwear for his birthday!” Kwangsoo began to applause loudly, and the cast laughed some more.

“Whoa—ige mwoya?” Haha exclaimed as they saw the staff set up what looked like a floating circle pad with four arms connected to the smaller pads around it.

“Ja, the goal of this game is to maintain your spot in the main island as long as possible,” PD-nim explained, “The last team remains on top of the island wins the game.”

Oh! This type of game! This type of game was very familiar for the Running Man cast. And Deanna seemed to follow up good; she remembered seeing this kind of pool games at some episodes, so she got the rough idea how it would turn out to be. But despite all of that, this would be her first time.

“Ja! We’re about to start the game!” PD-nim shouted out, holding a whistle to blow, “Ja! Junbi si—,”

PRITTT!!! And so the game began.

The eight member of Running Man Cast carefully walked down the slippery lane to the wrestling area in the center pad.

“Yah! We need to kick out Jongkook first!” Jaesuk yelled out as he got closer to the middle square. He glanced at the muscle and regretted looking at him, “Yah! This is not fair! Just look at him!”

Already in position, Jongkook was ready to attack, with his hungry face as the tiger stalking its weak preys.

“Hyung, use Deanna!!” Kwangsoo couldn’t help but screaming at his updated idea, as they all knew Jongkook’s weakness.

Unfortunately Deanna thought of it as a different way and scoffed, “Use me?!”

Chuckled filled out the pool as they were quite in stunned with her sudden outburst.

“Aniyo, Deanna-yah, he meant to eliminate Jongkook—whoa!!”

Out of nowhere Jongkook forward and starting to push Seokjin, who seemed to lose attention of things around. Sadly though, Big Nosed Hyung ended up jumping out of the pad and faded in to the water. The others seemed fazed and found this as a joke, as Seokjin had just played an important role of game starter.

As a lot of them were brawling at one spot, Deanna was standing at the other side of the pad, totally lost in track of the game. She couldn’t help but to laugh awkwardly seeing a mass of potential destruction was on a go.

“Ah eotteokhae?!” Despite having no idea of what to do, Deanna charged into the group and began pushing anyone on her reach.

The closest person was Haha, and it would be great if she could finally eliminate her arch nemesis. So she took an empty spot and made a turn, decided to pull him away from the crowd, from Jongkook’s shield.

“Wae?! Yah! Yah! Deanna-yah,” Haha, who was still in shock with her strength to drag him away, tried to stop her by grabbing her legs to make her fall.

With the help of Ace Jihyo, Haha was finished on the game and now helplessly floating in the water on the water. But it didn’t stop there. This first being called female-Kwangsoo did some justice to her nickname, a betrayal. She saw an opportunity and pushed Jihyo off the pad with ease.

At the same time Gary was being thrown away by none other than Jongkook. With that, Monday Couple automatically lost the game.

The situation on the other side was pretty bad for Kwangsoo and Jaesuk. Kwangsoo was struggling to keep out even though his feet had already dipped in to the water. But both of them were being squashed by Jongkook who was sitting above them.

“Yah! Deanna-yah! Help me!” Jaesuk hopelessly screamed.

“Whoa, Jongkook-oppa is scary, alright,” Deanna gagged at the current positions, “Ah eotteokhae oppa?!”

“Just push him, Deanna-yah! Jongkook’s weakness is women. You can eliminate him easily,” Seokjin encouraged her from under.

“Yah! Ppalliwa! Jongkook-hyung, hajima!!” yet another desperate voice, howling for help.

Deanna then walked closer and grabbed Jongkook’s arm, and tried to pull him away from the position. But the slippery of the surface made Deanna slipped and fell but first, cried out what could be an aegyo whine.

“Ah, Jongkook-oppa is so heavy! I can’t do it!”

“Just do it, Deanna-yah!! JEBAL!!”

Deanna thought another way to save her partner. Soon, she dashed off and colliding herself with Jongkook’s body, or in other words, hug him. Other cast was soon ecstatic and filled the scene with a sudden romance but Jongkook was surprised obviously didn’t see that coming. Deanna then slightly toppled their body to the edge of the pad, to push him off.

Instead, Kwangsoo fell in to the water. But the others didn’t have time to care for him, as they were busy watching the intense war between the Tiger and the Lioness.

Barely touching the water, Jongkook spontaneously moved and rolled over, still hugging her, to the center point of the pad. And the others began continuing yet another sudden romantic scene. Love in the Jungle, what Song Jihyo said.

Jaesuk had managed to get up and used her distraction to drag him out of the pad. Jongkook alerted and immediately got up again to rumble with the duo. And once again they were brawling at the edge of the pad.

They didn’t realize though, that the pad was slightly toppled because the heavy masses. And laughter filled up as all three of them fell in to the water.

Underwater, Deanna’s eyes went blur and slightly dizzy. She slapped her face first in to the water and her face felt burning. She was about to kick her legs to the surface, when huge masses tumbled down on her.

Deanna emerged out of the water, coughing some water out, with the other men craving for oxygen.

“Yah Deanna-yah, gwenchanhayo?! Ah mianhae,” Jaesuk rushed to her side and began patting her back. Deanna just nodded and gave a thumb-up.

But her cough failed to convince him, “Ah, aniyo! Mianhae, I didn’t see you down there! Mian.”

And he pulled her close for a short hug.

A short hug.

A protective hug.

A hug that made her fluttered.

First at the pool...

And now this!!

He hugged me, again.

He hugged me.

Pfft, he just hugged me because we won the stupid ttakji game.

He just hugged me like he hugs Jihyo.

He hugged me.

He just hugged me; that was it!

...

Wasn’t it?

The final mission took place in a cluster of buildings, just few miles from the resort where they were staying. As PD-nim told earlier on the filming, this mission was a solo mission, meant that all the couple broke up and stood for themselves.

The mission was considered a simple one. It went like this; find the clues that can help you to win the eternal glory. In what shape, still a secret; it seemed to be a one big prize.

So, it had been fifteen minutes since the start and Yoo Jaesuk had finally found an R box at the office. There wasn’t anything unusual, just a piece of paper with the clue written on it.

Ggwang

“Aigo...you have the fake ones too? Ah jinjja! I’m not good at finding things. Ah.”

But his luck hadn’t run out, not yet. At the same time whne he put the box back to the shelf, he found another R box just few columns lower.

Beware of spy!

“Spy? Spy-da? There’s a spy between us? Ah I thought this mission was too simple. It is obvious now,” Jaesuk nodded his head, still scanning the word spy, “But PD-nim said that this could help to find the prize. The spy is the clue?”

Tik-tok, tik-tok, tik-tok...suddenly Jaesuk smacked his palms together, repeating his habit when he seemed to figure out something.

“Yah! The clue is on their nametag! I have to oust the spy to get it,” Jaesuk’s mind stated to work out a hypothesis. But soon he regressed in thought, “But who is the spy? I still need to find the spy. For now, let’s just search more clues. Ja, gaja!”

His instinct to secure the paper came on by slipping it into his shoes and sandwiched it with his foot. Typical.

Ten minutes afterward, it seemed that the whole spy thing had spread to the ears and now they began to suspect each other. Some of them created an alliance to find the spy and oust them.

And after Gary and Seokjin were out, the game started to heat up.

“Yah! Who started this whole spy thing?! I hadn’t even found a clue yet!” Kwangsoo pleaded poorly, “What is the clue exactly?!”

“We are going nowhere now. Why don’t we share out clues, right now?” Jongkook implied his idea, “We don’t know the characteristic of the spy. We don’t know how many. And honestly I haven’t suspected anybody right now. I’m telling the truth.”

“Geurae! Here, I’m going to tell you this, oppa. Mine and Gary’s clue are the same. I’m not sure but I think there’s a meaning to it.”

“The same? ...yah, who has Gary and Seokjin’s clues? Ah, Haha-yah. Haha.”

“I haven’t taken a look at these, chamkkanman,” Haha turned around to take the clues out of his pants, precisely inside his boxer. Yah Haroro.

“Whoa! Jinjja!” Haha’s bewildered expression appears as he scanned the papers, “Yah, this gives me chills!”

“Ah waeyo? Wae?”

“Gary’s clue and Seokjin’s clue are all the same! Look!” Haha showed the clues to them, as some of them took a peek of them, “They all say; Beware of spy!

“Beware of spy?! Yah, I have that too!” Jaesuk exclaimed, also reaching for his.

After that it, it was discovered that four same clues spread amongst them. And it seemed to be the only type of clue they got.

“See? I told you something’s off with the clues,” Jihyo said, “What do you think of it, oppa?”

Silence took over as all of them were trying to understand the meaning behind this puzzled puzzle.

...

“The number of spies?” Deanna suddenly stated out loud.

“Four spies?” Kwangsoo asked randomly, “But there are only six of us now. That’s weird.”

...

And hell broke loose.

***

Deanna and Jongkook met up with each other after running away from the current potential spy, Haha, Jaesuk, and Kwangsoo. Or maybe Kwangsoo just joined in because he wanted to oust Jongkook badly, but he was suspected.

“Ah oppa, is Running Man always this difficult?”

“It can be. But there should have been more clues,” he shook his head and folded his arms on his chest, wandering off around the room, “It’s strange though. Gary and Seokjin are not spies. And if the clue thing is right, anybody can be a spy!”

Deanna nodded slightly, before set her eyes back to Jongkook, “Oppa spy-da?”

“Eh, aniyo! Neo spy-da?”

“Jinjjayo, ani,” she replied, chuckling at the sudden suspicious scene, “We’re not a spy, so maybe we should stick together, oppa!”

Jongkook stared at her in slight disbelief. She also noticed that weird look on his face.

“Ah wae oppa! Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Ani, but what you just said was very awkward,” Deanna’s sudden frown made Jongkook chuckled shortly. But soon he took a step away, “So I’ll ask you again. Are you a spy or not?”

“Ne. Ani. Maybe, I don’t know oppa! Ugh, this nametag game is so confusing!”

“Ha! Me too, me too,” Jongkook coughed out and shrugged, “I will take a few steps away, but yes, let’s search for more clues together...for now.”

“Bah! Oppa, what you said was scary, jinjja,” Deanna laughed at the statement.

In the end Jongkook tried to push aside the suspicion, but still very cautious about all the things around him, including her. He kept that in mind.

That was until they entered an office room on the third floor, out of Jongkook’s radar, when Deanna seemed to find something she didn’t want Jongkook to find...

...

Ding dong dang ding! The familiar bell echoed throughout the buildings, Kim Jongkook out!! Kim Jongkook out!!”

“Wae?! Wae?!?! WAE?!!” Jaesuk, who was still stuck at the second floor, couldn’t help but snapped his eyes wide open, almost bulging out of his glasses, “Jongkookie annyeong!! Yah, finally I heard that words. Kim Jongkook out! Kim Jongkook out! Yah! Ha ha ha!”

Jaesuk was so high of the excitement. It blasted off into the sky when he saw Jongkook was being held by the guards, with his mouth was clamped close. Jaesuk laughed out and yelled, “Kim Jongkook out!!”

“Oppa! Jaesuk-oppa!” Jaesuk turned to the whisper that came from the elevator to see Deanna was peeking out from the corner of the wall, “Oppa, come here, please!”

“Yah! Who ousted Jongkookie?” that was the first thing came up to his mind.

“Naneun!” with a bucket of a pride, Deanna pointed to herself.

“Neo?!” with yet another amusing face, he made an applause and shook her hand. He also did the heart-shaped arm gesture in front of her, “Deanna, I’m definitely your biggest fan! I will do anything for you!”

Eh oppa! Gamsahaeyo!” Deanna decided to let the scene flow by placing her hands to her chest showing grateful. But then she shrugged out, “Okay, okay! I have to tell you something.”

“Mwoya?”

“Jongkook-oppa is not the spy.”

“Ah jinjja?” a slight disappointment when he found out that Jongkook, who was supposed to be on his side, was eliminated. Oh well, “If that so then there’s only one left...neo spy-da?!”

Jaesuk immediately slammed his back on the face of the wall covering his precious nametag.

“Aniya oppa, listen! We all thought that the spy is four, according to the clues. Ne?” Deanna explained, “Guess what? I found another same clue upstairs!”

“So there are five spies,” Jaesuk knitted his eyebrows as dizziness crept into his mind, “But there are five of us. You, me, Haha, Kwangsoo, and Jihyo; all of us are spies?”

“Can it happen, oppa? This doesn’t make any sense to me,” Deanna grumbled out loud, “There’s no way that the spy is five. Maybe this is only a set-up.”

Jaesuk then took out his clue and re-read it to get any kinds of conclusions, “Beware of spy! It sounds like a warning, is it?”

“This is what I think of; five warnings for five individuals...,”

“And since there are eight of us, so the other three must be the spy!!” Jaesuk continued her sentenced very loudly, but immediately shushed but Deanna, “Wah, this is very tricky!”

“Let’s work together, oppa! Oppa is not a spy, right?”

“No, I’m not a spy. I promise I’m telling the truth—Haha is here! Watch out!”

Just then, Haha and Kwangsoo appeared from the other side of the hallway. The two seemed to whisper something secretive, a scheme perhaps.

“Yah hyung, did you oust Jongkook-hyung?” Haha asked.

“Not me. Deanna-ssi.”

“Ah jinjjayo? Wah, nuna daebakida,” Kwangsoo exaggeratedly celebrated by gesturing a high-ten to her.

But poor Kwangsoo, as he walked pass Jaesuk, he didn’t realize a hand had his nametag.

Ding dong dang ding, “Lee Kwangsoo out!! Lee Kwangsoo out!!”

“Yah hyung!!”

“You’re not a spy?! Jaesuk blinked as he saw the pure white nametag, “You’re not a spy.”

“I’m not—,”

Suddenly Jaesuk grabbed Haha’s arm and pulled him into the open space, “Deanna-yah, ppalliwa!”

Deanna didn’t waste any seconds and rushed off, pushing Kwangsoo off her route to reach for Haha’s nametag.

“Aniya! Deanna, aniya!!!”

Ding dong dang ding! And so the announcement was made.

“Ha! Haha-oppa spy-da!! Deanna smiled widely ask she saw the small tag that said spy, “I killed the spy!”

“Geuraeji! That’s how you do it! Great job Deanna-yah!” Jaesuk raised his arms and pulled her into a brief hug.

“Geuraeji! That’s how you do it! Great job Deanna-yah!” Jaesuk raised his arms and pulled her into a brief hug, “Now, we need to find Jihyo—yah!!”

Spontaneously Jaesuk yelped and pushed her away when she tried to rip his nametag off. Thanked God it was barely hold on, but he managed to stick it back. And then Jaesuk stared at this woman with the evilest smile on the face, along with Haha’s laugh.

“Deanna-yah! You snake!”

“Ah I was this close!!” Deanna chuckled and bowed down to him, “Jwesonghabnida, oppa!”

“Yah! I was your biggest fans!”

“I know, oppa. Gamsahaeyo!” laughing still, she returned the favor by doing the heart-shaped arms to him, “I am you biggest fans too!”

“Yah! You’re a snake! Agh jinjja,” Jaesuk couldn’t hold the anger and disappointment any longer and dashed off to chase her down.

The chase was short and coming to at a dead-end. At the same time Jihyo appeared out of nowhere, not knowing what had just happened between the two of them. But after a raged explanation from Jaesuk, she could conclude that she just found the tricky spies.

Deanna might be bigger in height. She easily reached for the nametags only within a single swing. But all of that couldn’t erase the fact that she was against two persons; two of the most skillful persons in Running Man.

As the final mission ended, the cast were all gathered to the lobby to reveal the eternal glory, which was a special nametag made out of a gold bar. Of course it wasn’t actually a gold bar, and the real gold was only a size of a pea, but it still symbolized the glorious lux.

The prize turned out to be locked in a small volt with a six digits security pin that they got from eliminating the spies; Haha and Deanna. Jaesuk and Jihyo both had the privilege to open it.

However, things were about to get weirder as things went the way they wanted to be.

“The winners for today’s mission are; Haha-ssi and Deanna-ssi, chukhahabnida!”

“Mwo?!”

“Yeah!!” Haha and Deanna celebrated their own victory as the others were flabbergasted and all alone dissatisfied, especially Jaesuk.

“Ah waeyo?! What is it now?!”

“Ja, let me explain. Today’s games were actually special secret missions for the spies, Haha and Deanna. They had overall three missions, each they have completed during the games we had earlier,” PD-nim then pointed out to both of the spies, “Can you guys tell them about your missions? Haha-ssi?”

“I’d love to!!” Haha exclaimed loudly, annoyed some of the losers, “First at the market, our mission was to make our team buy the same thing twice.”

“Yah! That was why you always checked on Jongkook’s team! You made me buy what they bought! Ah jinjja,” Jaesuk shook his head as he remembered those suspicious moments back then.

“Ah jwesonghabnida oppa, and thank you for your support! Gamsahabnida,” Deanna joked and bowed down to him while Haha ruined the moment by laughing loudly seeing Jaesuk’s outwitted expression.

She then took the turn, “At the pool, we succeed the second mission, which was to hug Haha and his partner for five seconds each.”

“Logically it wasn’t even a hug. She just threw herself onto me,” the slightly furious Jongkook was also showing signs of explosion.

Deanna glanced at Jongkok and did the heart-shaped arms in front of him. The others laughed when he just sighed in a desperate surrender, knowing the weakness beat him over again.

“And the third mission was during the ttakji game,” Haha then turned to Jaesuk, “Hyung, did you and all of you realize that Deanna always failed to flip any pogs, yet their team won?”

“Ah geurom. I realized but I just thought that she at it. She was burdening me.”

“Ha! Mianhae oppa!” Deanna bowed down for hundreds of times on that day, “The mission was to one of us wins the tournament without actually scoring a point.”

“So what’s the final mission for?” Seokjin asked.

“Because they already succeeded their missions, they have won the prize,” PD-nim explained, “The final mission worked as a distraction, and to waste your time.”

“Yah PD-nim!”

As all the hidden secrets revealed, Deanna and Haha got the chance to hold on to their eternal glory as the real winners for the day. With that the filming had finally ended.

When the clock at ten p.m. most of the Running Man casts, crews, and managers, were spread up in to different places inside the resort. Some of them went to the bar, while others went to the lounge and playing some games of billiard. But not little of them chose to get some rest instead.

But Jaesuk found himself laying down in his room, reading some messages from his dearest ex-wife. The time difference between South Korea and Singapore was one hour, meant that it was nine p.m. in there. Kyungeun just shared some pictures of their flight and the road of Singapore.

Truth to be told, Jaesuk had never gone to Singapore. Jaesuk had never gone traveling, with his family. Running Man’s trip to Australia, Hongkong, Indonesia, and so on was counted as a job relation. All of the fees for the traveling, starting from the aviation ticket, hotel, and other facilities were funded by the Running Man Bank, that was the simple term.

So seeing the photos continued to amaze him, despite the fact that they weren’t his. They were taken by a family duo which could become three if all of it didn’t happen.

It started off with a small argument of why she came home late without telling him. Arguments heated up when they began to get suspicious with each other. And he couldn’t deny the fact that he was acting out of the line. And when he accused her for having an affair, it was way out of the line.

For a week they lost contact with each other. At that time Jiho and his mother went to his grandpa’s house to stay out of the circle of Jaesuk’s life. And he just sat there in his empty house staring on everything he did and he regretted. And he wanted to make things right.

But it was just too late.

Five days later the couple reported to the family court about the divorcement. It took a few times before both sides agreed and finally accepted their own decision.

Divorce in one thing. Child custody is another. Looking at the report, Kyungeun had the financial advantages for child support arrangement. And Jaesuk couldn’t do anything else.  After much deliberation, he gave in.

 “Jiho-yah?”

“Ne appa?”

Jaesuk squatted down to hold his rosy cheeks, “Please take care of your mother.”

“Appa don’t worry, I will protect eomma from anything!” Jiho exclaimed, sticking out his two thumbs up in front of him.

“Ah that’s my boy!” Jaesuk smiled and hugged him, “I love you, son.”

“I love you too, appa.”

And from that on, his new life began as someone hiding behind a brick wall of false entertainment.

When the clock at ten p.m. most of the Running Man casts, crews, and managers, were spread up in to different places inside the resort. Some of them went to the bar, while others went to the lounge and playing some games of billiard. But not little of them chose to get some rest instead.

Not for Deanna, though. She decided to stay in her room to relax in her own way.

Her room happened to have a balcony facing the beautiful scenery of the buildings and houses. From the balcony, she could see the building when they did the final mission, not far from there.

It was perfect for her. Locked door, open space, a coke on her hand, and a lit cigar clipped between her pouty lips.

Yes, she was a heavy smoker.

This was the main reason why she decided to quit on modeling. Her body was going to worsen and after going on for almost fifteen years, she just couldn’t stop smoking.

Many people had helped her to stop, since she also had a lung problem going on. Even one of her agencies threatened to sign her out of modeling contract. She could be the nominee for the worst model in the world.

But she was so hooked up that her left lung had finally infected. She was so hooked up that she lost two of her most important modeling contracts with top international agencies. She was so hooked up that she failed to retain the title of top ten models in the world, and now was listed to be the top ten modeling career down-fall.

All of those things hit her right in the face. At the peak of her career, at the age of twenty-six, she became mentally depressed, financially broke, and physically dying.

Knowing that she would fail to fix up her reputation in America, she changed court and flied off to her hometown, Seoul, South Korea.

In America it was acceptable for a woman to smoke. But South Korea was strictly different when it came down to cultural and society. She knew some of female smokers in Korea, she did some research, but they weren’t as experienced as her.

Local agencies slammed the brake before signing her in. Some were hesitant when it came down to her reputation to the world. But after explaining about her rehab program, she was slowly accepted by the celebrity circle. She began to open up more about her modeling career. She even gained contract with some national modeling and CF companies.

She had lost a lung, yet she still smoked just like what she was doing now on the balcony. But it was her first cigar in over five days. It wasn’t a drastic change but small was better than none at all.

Few months after her surgery, she decided to stay in Korea for a permanent time. To move on from her haunted history, to continue the rest of her story, to begin the next chapter with a new life.

She just hoped that she wouldn’t up this time.
