Jaejoong POV

I washed my face for the nth time and stared back at my reflection. My hands gripped the ceramic tightly.

Oh god

Oh god

OH MY GAWD!

Why did I do that? Why did I let my emotions get ahead of me and do that last night?!

NOW WHAT AM I TO DO?

Aish! I’m such an idiot!

It’s just that she was messing with my mind sitting beside me…. I just hated the gap between us. I simply couldn’t drive when it was taking everything in me to grab her hand and hold onto it.

I admit it was stupid to bring the car back but how could I just leave it when I parked it in a no-parking zone? Besides, I expected her to have fallen asleep.

Wait a minute… I can tell that the towing truck brought it home…

Yes! That’s a good justification!

Breathing a deep breath, I pulled some tissues and wiped my face. Later I adjusted my suit and headed out of the men’s room. All I need to do is to tell her that the mechanic brought it after fixing it. that’s it. And Jenni and I can get back to bickering with each other. I headed to my cubicle where I sloppily slumped down and stared at the white ceiling. All these years I was waiting for Heyri, stomaching all my desires for her and now, oh god! I hate this but I love this. I know what I am harboring is something dangerous but god darn! It excites me.

I smiled to myself and shut my eyes for a brief nap in order to gain some energy to meet Jenni. I need to make sure that brat gets something clean to eat for lunch without the rubbish kids these days eat. I know she is very mindful of her body so she will be careful but I better suggest my favourite lunch spot. Maybe to Tao so that he could take her.

Having nothing more to think, I sat up straight and opened my laptop but felt a presence stand in front of the table. It was our security at the entrance.

“Sir, your father sent this for you” The middle-aged man gave me a bag and by the looks of it I knew it was our lunch.

I thanked him and he left our room. Tiffany eyed me open the bag which made me quite uneasy. I know she is Yoona’s friend, meaning I need to be careful. Yoona is capable of doing anything to win me over and I dread that she might hurt Jenni. I’m not afraid of her yet I don’t want that girl to get hurt because of me for all I wish is to be the reason for her happiness.  

Breathing a deep breath, controlling my uncontrollable beating heart, I, with shivering fingers, punched her number in my phone and pressed it over my ear. Remembering that I had an audience, I stood up and walked to the lobby. It rang and rang for a good minute and then she answered it

“What now prof?”

“I have your lunch. Come get it”

“Did ajushi bring it?”

“Otherwise?” I asked back as I walked to and fro the lobby. “Just come to the staff room and give me a ring.”

“Give me 10 minutes. Is it ok?”

“Alright.”

I headed back in once the call ended and sat on my seat. Shockingly Tiffany came to my cubicle

“Hey oppa, what’s up with you lately?”

“Nothing much sis. Why ask?”

“Nah, you are just all bright and smiley lately….”

“Thought you people wanted me to be more social…” I muttered with a smug smile.

“A girl?”

There you go…..

“Should it be?” I asked back trying hard to not snap at her.

“Oppa you know that Yoona loves you right?” Her smile faded and I was greeted by her rather serious features

“Tiff please” I sighed “I hope we keep our talk professional now that we are at work”

She smiled whilst nodding and turned. I breathed in a breath of relief but held it back once she faced me.

“Just a warning oppa…. People are keeping an eye on you and trust me when I say this… Don’t think you can outsmart them always”

My hold on the lunch bag tightened and her eyes fell on it. She sighed a laugh and met my gaze.

“Have a nice lunch oppa.”

“You too Tiff” I forced a smile at her.

On cue my phone rang and I grabbed our bag and headed out. Tiffany looked at me but I whisked away. Seeing Jennifer climb up the stairs, I eyed her to come up and walked ahead. She shot me a glare and I gave her a warning look before I headed upstairs towards the consultation rooms. Fortunately no one was there and I the lights to the corner-most room and sat on the table. She came in and stood by the door.

“Are you planning on making it obvious that you are here with me not for a consultation?” I raised my brow at her

She stepped forward and I gestured her to sit on the chair. She abided, pulling the chair to my left and placed her bag on the table.

“Look at me” I ordered wanting to see her beautiful face only to end up gripping the bag so tight that I was sure my skin was marked by the fabric of the bag.

“Where is Tao?” I asked nevertheless.

“He hasn’t arrived from China yet…”

“Oh.. His father’s birthday right?” I verified to which she nodded. “So you’ll be eating alone?”

“Minho will join me”

I counted from 10 to 1 and took a deep breath to calm myself down. “You know, always being with him will lead to talk?” I frowned, my tone was harsh and completely unimpressed.

I guess I couldn't hide my annoyance at how much she depends on Minho.

“Beats being paired up with L Joe…”

“They still do that?!” I panicked “Why didn’t you tell me?!” 

She quietened, pulling the straps of her bag one at a time. Oh god! Won't he just leave this girl alone?!

I guess it's high time I inform his mother about this

“Don’t worry. I’ll see what I can do” I assured her.

Her eyes shot up and I smiled back assuringly. “Thanks.” She muttered.
