Day 4

Home Alone with Min Yoongi

Day 3
You awoke the next morning to a quiet house. You figured Yoongi was still sleeping, so you ventured out in to the kitchen, skipping your morning workout since it was your birthday after all. You walked over to the coffee pot where you spotted a small blue sticky note.

I have a lot of errands and projects to work on today. I'm sorry I won't be home much. Happy birthday!
-Yoongi

You sighed outloud, not even bothering to conceal our dissapointment. Having to spend your birthday completely alone wasn't exactly what you had in mind, but it didn't matter. It was just another day. "Well I got to hand it to him, at least he knows where to properly place his notes to me."

The day drug by painfully slow. Instead of a noisy boisterous house, or even just Yoongi to chat with, you were in silence. TV shows couldn't keep your attention, the internet was getting boring. You were simply bored. Your phone began ringing at full volume startling you slightly. You picked it up off the table and looked at the caller ID. Namjoon.

"Hey Namjoon! How's-"

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" You heard not just Namjoon, but all six of the vacationing boys chorus loudly over the speaker. You couldn't help but smile.

"Thanks boys. I appreciate it. So how's the vacation going?" You tucked the phone between your ear and your shoulder getting comfy.

"It's good. But we miss you and Yoongi. Are you guys holding down the fort alright?" Namjoon's voice was more prominent compared to the others chatting idly in the background.

"Yeah we're doing fine. Not much going on. He's out all day today. Said he had things to do. I dont know."

"Hmm, well whatever he's doing, they must be pretty important to have to leave you home alone on your birthday. Hey, we gotta get going, we just wanted to give you a quick call. Enjoy your day. Go get lunch or something on me alright? Take care?"

"Thanks Namjoon."

The phone clicked off signalling your much too short conversation had ended. You considered getting up and going to get something to eat, but instead you just decided to stay in bed. It was much warmer there anyways, and you could see the fresh new snow falling outside of your window. "Happy birthday...to me."

A few more hours had passed of you doing not much of anything before your phone went off again, this time with a much shorter sounds indicating a text.

Can you bring me a coffee to the studio please?

So Yoongi was in the studio all day. You figured as much.

Sure. Be there in about 30.

You put on your jacket and scarf and the whole nine yards, because boy was it really coming down out there, and walked to the usual coffee shop you always went to to get coffee for Yoongi. Relishing in the warmth of the cups in your hands, you ventured back outside for the quick five minute walk to the studio.

When you arrived to the studio, you noticed the same color blue sticky note on the door that you found on the coffee maker that morning.

I'm not here~ I'm back home. Come back immediately.

You crinkled your red and frozen nose before fishing your phone out of your pocket.

What the heck Yoongi?

I know. I know. I'll pay you back for the coffee. Just get home.

It's snowing really hard, you know?

I'll make it up to you. I promise. Now hurry.

No matter how cold you were, or how much he was wasting your time, you could never find it in your heart to stay mad at Yoongi for long. It just wasn't possible. So you did what he said: headed back home, though you weren't sure why he was rushing you. Maybe he needed you to listen to his new tracks. You didn't know. You just pulled up your scarf further around your face and walked.

When you arrived home, the only light on was the one in Yoongi's room. You placed your wet boots at the door and unravelled all your layers, walking to your room to put them away. "Yoongi?" you called out peeking in to his open door. He wasn't there. "Yoongi?" you called for the second time.

"Dining room!" you heard his voice from down the hallway call.

You started off down the hall and in to the dining room. "What are doing in here with all li-"

"Surprise!"

The light flicked on, and standing there was Yoongi in a much too flashy party hat. He was standing next to the table with different colored bags and wrapped boxes all ontop of it, and in front of it all was a small cake, just big enough for the two of you.

"Yoongi...what?"

"What? You thought I'd blow you off on your birthday? Not likely." His gummy smile made your heart flutter in about a million different directions.

"But why? You didn't have to do all this?" You walked closer to him to inspect it all and he placed a matching party hat on top of your head.

"You're right. I didn't have to. But I wanted to. It's your first birthday away from home so I made you think I was working all day and went out to prepare. That's why I sent you on a coffee run. So I could set up. Were you surprised?"

You nodded quickly. "I was very surprised. A little mad you made me go out in this snow, but after all this, I'm not mad anymore."

"So I'm forgiven?"

"Of course you are."

"Good. Now blow out the candles so you can open your presents"

Yoongi picked up the lighter on the table and lit all the candles signifying your age. You closed your eyes and bent down so you were closer to the candles. "Make a wish, birthday princess." Yoongi whispered in your ear. You nearly shuddered, and made a mental note of his new habit of calling you princess hoping it lasted past your birthday, before blowing out the flames.

"What did you wish for?"

"I can't tell. Telling a wish never makes it come true." You said matter of factly.

"But what if I can control making that wish come true or not?" The look on his face was a bit more serious than it had been since you came home.

You sighed slightly. "Yoongi, I don't think you can decide my happiness or not." you paused for a moment. "That's what i wished for. A life of happiness."

"I can try." his voice was quiet, caring even.

"What?" Your eyes went a bit wide. Were you hearing correctly? What exactly was he getting at?

Yoongi just gave a smirk. "Sit down. You should open your presents now. I spent all day shopping for you, ya know!"

You sat down and looked at all of them on the table. "All of these are from you?"

"Every single one. Even the flowers." Yoongi took a spot across the table from you.

"I thought some of these might have been from the others. This is too much!"

Yoongi just waved a hand dismissing the thought. "It's not too much. And you haven't even opened anything yet! you could hate everything I got you."

"I doubt it." You picked up the first bag, the largest one. Inside of it was a large, very large, stuffed panda with a pink ribbon around its neck. You giggled at the overly large stuffed doll and sat it carefully in the chair beside you. "He's adorable."

Throughout the presents, there were arrays of scented lotions and expensive perfumes, hats, so many cute pink things you couldn't even count and more.

There was one box left on the table. You lifted up its lid and peered in to the contents. Folded neatly ontop of tissue paper was a BTS jersey identical to the ones the boys would wear. You looked up. "This has your name on the back, doesn't it?" Yoongi just smiled and shrugged. "Pick it up and see."

You pulled the jersey out of the box and turned it around. "No. Way." You sat it back down in the box and stared opened mouthed across the table. "Does this really have MY name on it?" You looked again, and sure enough, in bold white letters, was your name printed on the back.

"At this point, you're an honorary BTS member. So you needed a shirt to match ours. You gotta have swag, like me."

You couldn't help but laugh out of happiness. "I love it! Thank you! I loved it all."

"There's one more."

"What?"

He pulled a small box out of his jacket pocket and placed it in front of you. It wasn't wrapped, but ontop of it was a small bow. You picked it up and unhinged the lid.

"Yoongi..."

"Is it the right one?"

Tears formed quickly in the corners of your eyes as you looked at the watch in the box. You nodded. "It's exactly the same. How did you...? Where did you...? Mine is broken."

"It wasn't easy. Trust me. When I saw the broken one on your vanity the other night when you fell asleep on me on the couch, I started looking for a new one. I couldn't find it in any stores. And I finally found this one online and I knew I had to have it for your birthday so I overnight shipped it." He looked up and tears were streaming down your face. He stood up to walk to your side. "Why are you crying?"

You covered your face with one hand for a couple of seconds as you tried to gain as much composure as you could before answering. "When I got here to Korea, I was practicing my dancing and the watch fell off of my wrist and hit the floor. It broke instantly. My mom...my mom gave me that watch." Your voice quivered.

"Well I'm sure you can skype her and show her the new one."

"No...my real mom gave it to me. The woman you met on skype was my stepmom. My real mom passed away. That watch was the last gift she had given me for my birthday. So when I broke it, I was heartbroken."

"Oh. Come here." Yoongi tugged at your arm pulling you up from your seat into a tight hug. "I didn't know. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry."

"No it's okay. It's a good cry. This gift really means the world to me. And you put a lot of effort in to it." You pulled back to give him a genuine smile even though your face was still damp. "Thank you. So much. For everything."

A warm smile was returned to you. "You're very welcome. I wanted to make it special for you. We'll have a bigger celebration when the boys come back, but for now, you'll have to settle for a night in with me."

"I don't think settle is the right word. I'm looking forward to it."

"Good." Yoongi dissapeared in to the kitchen and returned later with a knife, and couple of bottles of soju and beer. "Because tonight we're going to have a karaoke night, and I'm going to need to have a couple of these in order to sing."

You laughed and dried away the last couple of remaining tears. You smiled even harder as Yoongi cut the cake. Red velvet. Just like you told him you loved.

"You know, I can't buy anything red velvet without thinking of that damn song Hoseok dances to all the time." Yoongi said as he plated a couple of slices.

"You mean this one?" You immediately burst in to the song and the over exaggerated dance.

Yoongi groaned. 'Yes, that one. You've been taking lessons from Hoseok haven't you! Stop it before I eat all of your cake by myself!"

You stopped dancing with a giggle and took the plate of cake Yoongi offered you. He poured a couple of shots and handed the first to you before picking up the other for himself. "To your birthday, to your health, and to...your happiness. We drink."

"Noooo. Don't make me do this song!" You slurred as Yoongi passed you the microphone. "I can't raaaap. This is no faaair." You whined and pouted hoping it would change his mind.

Yoongi's cheeks were flushed from the alcohol. How drunk he was? You weren't sure. But you did know he was having a good time, laughing, and dancing and smiling so much that you thought you might die from cuteness.

"It is fair. You made me sing. Now you have to rap." He hit the play button.

"But I caaaant."

"Yes you can."

"YOONGI I CANT"

"YOU CAN. DO IT! GO" You both were yelling in good nature at each other and laughing hysterically that you barely noticed the song starting. Or was that the 5th shot of soju kicking in?

The words flew across the screen as you tried your hardest to keep up. "I.... YOONGI I COULDNT DO THIS SOBER. You do it!"

Yoongi took the microphone from your hands and finished the song. He stumbled over a couple of words, laughing when he did so, as you watched intently. When the song finished, he turned towards you. You didn't even bother to hide the fact you were blantantly staring.

"What are you looking at?"

You gave an airy laugh through your nose. "Youuuu~" You both stared at each other in silence for a few seconds before Yoongi grabbed your wrist, leading you back to the couch. He sat down and pulled you on top of him. You sat facing him, your knees straddling his lap. He reached up and tucked a piece of hair behind your ear.

"Did you have a good birthday, princess?" His voice was low and edging towards seductive.

"Mhmmm. It was the best." your voice low and matching his.

He inched his face ever so slowly towards yours until your noses were touching. You felt his hands on your hips, his thumbs rubbing slow circles on your skin. Your head was spinning, but you were sure 90% of it was from the proximity in which his face was to yours.

"I think..." he started. "I think..." he pulled his face away from yours. "I think we should go to bed, it's really late."

You breathed out a huge sigh of dissapointment. You thought for sure he was about to kiss you, but maybe your head was just cloudy. "Yeah, you're right." You got up off of his lap and you walked down the hallway to your bedrooms together.

"Goodnight. Thank you again." You said before walking in to your room.

"You're welcome. Happy birthday."

You woke up with a gasp. You looked over at your alarm clock, 4am, all traces of drunkeness having left your system by now. Your mind slowly wandered back to the nightmare you had just had. You tried really hard not to cry again, but you couldn't help it. You got up and walked towards the bathroom. You rinsed your face with cold water hoping it would help, but it didn't. Sinking down to the floor, you tucked your knees in to your chest and began to cry, for the second time that day. Infact, you had been doing a lot of that for the past two days.

You weren't sure how long you had been sitting there, but you heard the door slowly creak open.

"(Y/N) What are you doing? What's wrong?"

You looked up to see Yoongi standing in the doorway, his eyes still half closed, and his hair a mess.

"I...had a nightmare, about my mom, and her dying all over again. I'm sorry, did I wake you?"

"You did but," Yoongi crouched down beside you "that doesn't matter." He grabbed your hand and gently pulled you up. "Come on." He led you out of the bathroom and in to his room. Silently, he got in to bed, and pulled up the covers waiting for you to get in. Hesitant at first, you crawled in, and he drapped the blanket over your shoulders. He shuffled in closer and put his arm around your waist, pulling you in to his body. His free hand came up to play with your hair.

"I'm sorry you had that nightmare." He said gently. "From now on, you can come in here with me if it happens again, okay? Are you alright with this?"

You nodded your head but then remembered it was dark. "This is perfect."

"Good. Now try and get back to sleep. I'm right here. Dreams are just dreams, even though sometimes they hurt."

It didn't take long at all for you to drift back to sleep. Yoongi's body heat, and comforting touch lulled you back to slumber.

In the morning, you awoke in the same exact position, to a very cute and peacefully sleeping Yoongi. You could get used to that.
