Guilt

Luhan woke up, his mind still a little hazy. Adjusting to the brightness, he tried to gather his self and determine where he was. There was something off by the smell, seemingly acrid in his opinion, whilst there was an incessant beeping of a machine.
He then knew where he was. A frown immediately set itself on Luhan’s lips. He didn’t want to be where he was at the moment. Painful memories were making a comeback and he wasn’t sure if his heart could take its attacks. He raised his hand and squeezed his chest, anxiety churning inside of him.
He slowly sat up and scanned his hospital room. He was in a private room – a suite if he was honest. The door then opened and a woman walked in, her steps halting when she saw Luhan was awake. Tears started running down her face.
“Xiao Lu,” his mother cried out, running towards his bedside. “My son, my Xiao Lu,” she mumbled, sobbing continuously and hugging him tightly. “I thought I was going to lose you.”
Luhan’s heart ached, remembering the night of the accident. He hugged his mother’s frail body. “I’m sorry,” he muttered. “I’m sorry, mother,” he told her.
“What for, Xiao Lu?” she asked, smiling kindly at him.
His lips trembled, tears starting to flow
