The Legends
Monster Thief"What a shame we all become such fragile and broken things..."
It must have been years since Taecyeon and Chansung had given him a chance- the two that were like his brothers now. Wooyoung smirked, his eyes still the same blackholes as it had been in his fragile years of a middle schooler. Those were many a years ago- now Wooyoung was either almost over twenty, or actually twenty. Another flick of his wrist- a clean slash gave way for crimson black liquid to leap to the ground. A frown itched its way to the man's face. It didn't matter how old he was now- Shadow Walkers live far longer than a human, apparently- but that's what Taecyeon said, and his words weren't always valid. Some warm drops landed on the side of Wooyoung's face. A revolting sensation. Yet the contrast of the fair white skin and staining red created a lovely picture that was surely from ethereal origins. Except it wasn't- and the young adult absentmindedly wiped it off, still stuck deep inside his memories. His slim fingers slid easily across the rough texture of his necklace- and a familiar glow shone as it made contact with the heavy body of the Rank A. Wooyoung wiped the filthy blood off his trusty blade (old fashioned, yes) and tucked it into his belt made of the leathery wings the Rank A monsters relinquished before their doom. Wooyoung plucked a clean cloth from his jean pocket and wiped his delicate fingers free of the grit that clung to his hands. The man with soft hands quietly knelt down, tentatively poking at the disturbed shadows, before a smile finally blossomed on his face as the shadows responded happily, curving around Wooyoung's skin, playing tag across the stretches of pale skin. The smile brightened even the darkest corners of the clearing, and Wooyoung's face dimpled into that of a charming child. But the heavy weight of thoughts pulled the young adult under. The bright and rare angelic smile also was also dragged under, and the apporaching shadows became timid and shy once more.
Wooyoung hadn't changed much- still the same innocent look, same untrusting eyes, still beautifully pale skin, pink soft lips, and still the same feminine hips that gave off the impression of extreme delicacy that Wooyoung used to his advantage. But he wasn't as slim as before- his lean arms were slightly rippled with muscles, and his quite slender legs had grown longer. And his knowledge had impeccably shot up so high, so fast, that he was on par with Chansung and Taecyeon's knowledge together combined. But Wooyoung was far from being superior, nor did he think he was. No- Wooyoung knew that Chansung and Taecyeon had years of experience on them- and that couldn't compare to his artificial book smarts. The shadows tugged at Wooyoung's fingers, demanding attention from the silent Shadow Walker. Wooyoung lifted the corner of his lips in empty giddiness, and the corners of his eye crinkled as his fingers gave a last twirl before leaving the black pool. The shadows clinging to his hands fell off like water as he shook them off as gently as he could. He rose back up, and his back stiffened into a defensive stance.
A quick sensory scan and seeing the shadows at ease meant that his target wasn't anywhere near. A shuddering sigh of relief tore itself from Wooyoung's chest. The unknown feeling of anticiaption and dread had crept upon him without his noticing. A weak grin bleed through the white canvas of Wooyoung's face.
JYP's new targets had shifted- Rank C's and B's no longer sufficed since the break-out of information that had flown to their nation- sent from their spies in their enemy's field. They had succeeded in making the experiments- their PROJECTS that turned normal, unaware humans into the gruesome, ugly monsters that only did their master's bidding had evolved- they succeeded in making the real monsters they had been looking for the whole time. This had given the JYP nation despair and later, hope. Because now they were desperate enough to piece the bits of stolen information from the enemy's home base to formulate the crazy notion that the Rank S monsters still retained humane qualities, and JYP was going send out their most reliable and skilled agents to kidnap the monsters, and steal them from the opposing force.
Wooyoung trudged away from the sight of the clearing, walking aimlesly a couple yards away from where he had executed the most perfect kill in this week. The pale boy stopped. Shifting his black orbs around at the frozen trees and still wind, his feet began digging into the black mass below him, his shadows letting off faint protests before finally giving up- and Wooyoung slid into the silky black and entered the void. A sound of contentment bubbled out of his chest, and the innocent looking boy leisurely took the time to fully enjoy the pleasure of the silken comfort before waving and slithering his way through the smooth black to th
