My Goodness... Did it all really happen?

Amber was still in bed, her eyes had just opened.

Oh right... It's a Sunday. I got a shift.

She sits up, ruffling her hair then rubbing her eyes. Remembering what happened that seemed very dream-like

Hold up--

Her eyes fixate on her legs which was covered in her blanket and she traces it to her waist. It was still tied around her waist.

Just like that gown of a blanket she wore in that dream-like event when she danced with Henry--

Her eyes dilate registering the fact that she did kinda dance with Henry last night and Henry is kinda her boyfriend now

She jumps up from her bed and almost comes out of her room with the blanket still tied around her waist

After untying it, she runs down the kitchen

"Oh! I thought you weren't gonna wake up! I was on my way to take your shift" Jackie was munching on her biscuit with a carton of milk in her hand, ready to head out

"N-no! It's my shift in the morning!"  Amber blocks her sister's way causing Jackie to give her a look

"Whoa there, hold your horses, you seem so giddy eh? And look at you, still in your jammies!"

Amber looks down her outfit, and smiles, remembering what happened last night again "I know right?" she sighs

Her older sister blinks "Oooookaaay? I guess you better get dressed, it's your shift after all."

Amber didn't even bother riding her skateboard to the shop, she ran from their house to the closed shop where Henry was already waiting

"Hey..." she greets him, slowing down once she comes closer

"Good morning" he replies with a smile

a thought comes in Amber's head. Greetings were never exchanged by them in person, especially not "kind" greetings. She would always respond to his greeting with either an insulting look or ignoring him.

"I didn't receive a good morning text today... Things changed overnight?" she inquires as she opens the shop

"Well, I figured I should just greet you personally and see if you'd finally respond. Didn't know you anticipated for those texts"

She looks at him, hoping her cheeks weren't blushing "I-I don't! I just thought it was... Odd. Yeah, I thought it was odd not having your message bother me in the morning..." She says sticking up her nose as she opens the door

Henry just shakes his head, smiling. He still can't believe he had been so lucky last night

The whole day, whatever he was doing he can't his eyes from her. Of course he always did that before, but this time he's looking at his girlfriend. His girlfriend for thirteen hours and counting now. And there's always that sigh of contentment before she catches him staring at her. She smiles a boyish smile at him and he goes crazy over and over again.

"Hey, you're spilling the coffee" she yells at him from the counter. He was serving a table, pouring brewed coffee on a customer's cup while oggling at Amber. The customer on the other hand has her eyes on Henry and only noticed the spilled coffee when she heard Amber's voice.

"Oh my gosh! I'm sorry!"

"Th-that's... okay..."

Amber catches his apology and stiffles a laugh.

Amber's thoughts are as light as a feather. Finally, no pretending she didn't want his attention. No denying to herself she liked this person. They're official now so that's brownie points to being happy.

Ah brownie points. Brownies. Get it? Because we serve brownies here. Ahh puns. I kill myself.

She can't let him know she's super duper happy she's finally his though. She can't make him believe she's very lucky to have him. Yes, keeping the tsundere act.

The crowd had slow down a bit and they weren't that busy at the moment.

Henry arranges a new batch into the glass display. Amber gathers the used cups and saucers into her tray.

Henry calls her attention, grabbing a pretzel with the thongs.
Amber looks his was and he raises the pretzel, grinning at her.

Mouthing
"I"
Then he points at the pretzel
and then mouths "you"

Amber gets it but raises a brow, teasing him

"I pretzel you?" She walks over beside him to put down the tray

"Noooo I mean, look at the shape of it. It's kinda shaped like a heart.. "

"Right right..."

He was going to lean in to steal a kiss on her cheek when the door chime rings and Jackie enters

"Yo, my turn"

Amber's parents know. Jackie doesn't know yet. So the two act more casual around her.

"Yeah sure."

"Study session tiiiime!" Henry says a little too enthusiastically with his fists in the air causing Amber to sweat impromptu and Jackie to laugh.

"Wow someone's pretty hyped for studying today" Jackie comments while tying her apron around her waist

"Y-yeah. I wonder WHY" Amber elbows Henry and the latter puffs because that elbow move was a bit powerful

"Ow..."

"Ah, smart people and your love for books"

"Can never get enough of studying!" Henry adds, earning another elbowing from his girlfriend. Only this time it wasn't so subtle and a bit more powerful than the first one, making him clutch his stomach

"Haha funny. Yeah and Jack, there are cups that need washing at the kitchen. Okay gotta go bye~"

She bids her sister goodbye, dragging Henry with her by the ear.

"Hey, you wanna ditch studying for a date today?"

Amber likes the idea but she remembers why he needs to study

"Hey your competition's a week away. Priorities first. And keep your eyes on the road!" she hits his leg with a notebook

"alright alriiiight" he whines
"We're going on a date after the competition, okay?"

"I still haven't told the others about us."

"We can have a date immediately after the competition. It's in Jeju. So it means no one is gonna recognize us there."

She smiles. Convinced.

"Alright."

"Do I get a bonus if I win first place?"

She looks at him giving him a disgusted look

"What the hell are you thinking?"

Henry laughs "I don't know, what are you thinking?"

She slumps in her seat, crossing her arms
"Nothing... If you win first place, I'll be the one to pay for the date."

Henry shrugs "Heh. Fair enough."

She hits him more than once this time
"What do you mean 'fair enough'?? So you really were thinking of something else!"

a/n: was i gone long? haha idk. anyway, so yeah, they're finally a thing now haha and brace yo selves for they are gon be a cheesy-cringy couple in the next chapters haha my goodness it was painfuly cringey writing this HAHAHA
