Mark was sure it was already past noon when he awoke, considering that the day before he had gone to bed later than usual.

He got up lazily, stretching on the bed. His hands going then to his eyes, rubbing them to ward off sleep. He heard noises coming from outside the house and knew that he needed to go see if Jackson and Joey weren't turning everything upside down.

Mark pulled the sheets over his body and finally got up, grabbing some clothes in his closet before heading to the bathroom, taking a relaxing bath that saved him out of all his laziness and sleep.

Finally well dressed, his hair a bit messy and still damp, he left the bathroom, deciding to put his shoes instead of his slippers, since he didn't know if they had visits - and by the noise outside, they probably had.

Although they moved to California, Mark still won his place on the wall for the mural of polaroids, these always being renewed since he never failed to record a moment.

A smile came to his lips unconsciously when he saw the mural, approaching it, running his fingers over the photos that held there. His eyes stopped at one of the most important ones, this being a polaroid taken by Jinyoung in the day of his wedding.

Mark could remember it like it was yesterday.

- I'm very nervous, Jinyoung.

Were the first words that left his lips, he rubbed a hand against each other, biting his bottom lip nervously.

- I'm seeing. - His friend laughed, fixing Mark's white suit - You're beautiful, Jackson's gonna end having a heart attack in the second he sees you coming.

Mark laughed out loud, shaking his head. He looked in the mirror, he couldn't believe he was actually getting married. It took a few years because of the treatment, but he knew Jackson looked forward to this day happen.

- I bet he's even more... - whispered more to himself than to the other, straightening his tie without need - What do I do...?

Jinyoung laughed again, away from the boy to take the bouquet. He handed him the object and smiled even more, putting the blonde fringe in place.

- Just be you. Smile, if he sees you too nervous, he's gonna think that you want to give up.

- I would never want it! - Interrupted, looking at Junior and then to the bouquet in hands - I never thought that a ceremony could make me so nervous... My vows are horrible...

- Let it go, Mark. It'll be fine, I know that if you say that blue potatoes are better than purple cabbage, Jackson will still find lovely.

Mark couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his lips, and then felt the nervousness leave him a bit. Jinyoung was right.

- Wanna know what?

Decided, the eldest went to his paper with the written votes. When he found it, he crumpled it and threw it in the trash, looking at what he had done for a few seconds before pulling away and walk to the door.

- I don't need to memorize or read, I'll tell him what I feel without these things.

Mark didn't see, but a proud glow passed by Jinyoung's eyes. He followed the man, then guiding him to the car that would take the groom and his friend to the marriage place - this being done on the beach, where a very, very nervous Jackson was waiting.

The minutes that have passed to get there seemed endless for the groom, his hands were sweating, his lips already asking for help because he bit it too much, and when he was ready to complain to Jinyoung: He could see, in the distance, his marriage mounted .

And it was then that his stomach did three backflips inside of him and he felt he could open the door to threw himself away - Oh my God, he was so ready and so nervous for that day, it was surreal, it was stupidly surreal.

- Jinyoung, I think I'm having a heart attack.

- No you're not! Stop it, you need to throw the bouquet to me.

Within minutes, the car parked where it should, causing Mark's stomach to three more backflips. He took a deep breath, leaving the car when Jinyoung opened the door for him to do so.

Since this part until the time he was already walking towards Jackson, Mark had no idea what happened, he just knew he was guided by Jinyoung there. His heart was beating extremely fast against his chest, he wondered the possibility that he could even be heard. In addition, his boyfriend, his fiancé, his Jackson was there, more handsome than ever, waiting.

And it took all of his attention.

Within seconds, he was in front of his fiancé, the largest and most sincere smile on his lips. He could clearly see Jackson's eyes shining, the evident nervousness, the way he changed his weight of one feet to another and how much... How much he was happy to be there.

Discreetly, he saw Jackson whisper him a "beautiful", which made him laugh. The time that the priest began the ceremony, all his words and what more, Mark answered automatically. His attention was still whole and completely dedicated to Jackson.

He admired his fiancé in all his aspects, that also beautiful white suit that fitted him so well. His hair wasn't in a topknot as usual, it was the way that Mark liked, fallen on his face. Mark wanted to squeeze him, it was more than lovely.

And finally, after all this time... They were getting married. Both waited, fought so hard to have a normal life. Was it difficult for Mark? Yes, it was terrible. But he knew that to Jackson was even worse, be forgotten every day and never give up.

Before his thoughts returned to the past, the priest took him out of his trance, making him pay attention when signaled it was Jackson's time to say his vows.

Like Mark, the man didn't take any role.

- Mark Tuan. - He began with a slightly trembling voice - In all those years, I never thought I would find you, fall in love with you. I never imagined that I would devote myself so much in a relationship, that someone would make me want to be a better person. But... but when I saw you... Sitting in that cafeteria, alone, reading. You seemed so fragile, so unreachable. I wondered, at that time, if I was actually seeing an angel... because you were flawless. Do you know the story of the boy who saw a comet? You're my comet. When I met you, you brought a beauty to my life, a strong desire to do my best just to see you smile, you gave me a meaning, a reason.

Jackson's eyes, by now, were shining, his voice cracking. But he didn't cry, he held to the end.

- I could wait my whole life for you to remember me, and even if you didn't, I'd still be there. Because... I don't know, you made me love you. I think I spent all those years looking for the love of my life, and it was here, in front of me. Many people didn't understand why I did it. It was a lot of suffering when in fact you forgot me, but... It was worth both the penalty. I knew you were made for me when, even if you forgot, you still loved me.

     He grinned, finishing his speech.

- Even in the saddest hours, you would compensate me, I always knew it. And when that day finally arrived, I knew my world was complete. And that's why now I say yes, I do. And not even death will separate us.

Jackson let out all the air he was holding, tightining a bit Mark's hands inside of his, still nervous. His speech had gone, but now he would hear his love talking and it was for sure that he was going to cry.

Mark not clearly remembered what he said, he talked a little bit nervous, running down some words, but in his memory he remembered the most part of his speech.

- Jackson Wang. - He began, the smile never leaving his lips - If I'm your comet, you're my soulmate. In the same way you found me, I never imagined that someone would call so much of my attention. I don't know how I acted with you the first time you met me and I'm sorry for that, but... - Giggled quietly - But I'm sure I fell in love with you every day, even today, I still fall in love. Either side of you, each defect you don't like, every detail, you angry, you scared, needy, sad, happy, you... I fell in love in a way that there's no return. And I always knew, deep down, that you loved me the same. It was impossible not to love, you were the only person who did so much for me, and I'm very grateful with all my might.

A pause to take a deep breath and continue talking.

- You're the person who will be with me always, you'll always defend me when its needed and will scold me when I make mistakes. Will comfort me when I'm sad, as you always have done, as you always helped me to get up and try again. Your presence by my side is all I need to be happy, but in return, its your absence that causes all my suffering. Even after all this time together, I still count the seconds that I will take to see you. If I don't wake up next to you and have your smile every morning, my day isn't complete. In fights and bad times, I know we'll find a way, we'll pass over as we go through all our obstacles.

Another long pause, the smile still present, her eyes shining.

- From the day I woke up and knew that the love of my life was by my side, I was sure that my life was finally complete, I could be happy like a normal person, with the most perfect boyfriend in the world that I could have won. Thank you for being who you are and for making me have one more extremely happy moment in my life, that this is now where I say yes, I do. And not even death will separate us.

Accomplices smiles were exchanged between the couple. Mark was so immersed in the brown eyes of his now titled husband, that he at least remembered what happened in the next few seconds. He remembered only the exchange of rings, how much he admired those rings on his hands, and the next second his lips were against Jackson in the most loving and passionate way possible.

And it was at this time that Jinyoung grabbed his camera to take the picture.

Mark sighed, that day was beautiful, his heart still pounded against his chest just remembering all those cheeky and touchy-feely things he had said. But he didn't regret not even one of them.

His eyes went down some more and then stopped on another polaroid, this in which he couldn't help but loud laugh. It was a picture of him with one of his old best friends, Andrew, next to Jackson. But Andrew was the only one with a black eye and bruised lip - and the way it happened was at least comical.

- Jackson, where are we going?

Mark had been caught off guard that day. They had no plans for the weekend, but suddenly his husband had come with the idea of going out to a place. If he wasn't mistaken, it was a park where he used to go as a child with his american friends - those who also had moved to Korea, but had lost contact since the accident.

- Secret.

Jackson was dead serious, and that was what was wrapping the elder's stomach. His beloved hardly was this way, then something must have happened. He hoped it wasn't anything with his father.

A few long minutes later, they were already parked, leaving the car to enter the park. Mark loved that place, he was even beginning to smile seeing all that land, he hasn't come here for a long time.

But his smile died in the same second he saw a trio of boys in an empty spot, he recognized very well the three faces. And apparently they were waiting for him.

- Jackson. - Andrew greeted, the other two waving nervously.

- Hey. - The younger replied, looking at Mark - Sorry not telling you this, my love.

Mark was confused. He didn't know that Jackson and Andrew knew each other, but it didn't matter now. His gaze shifted to his former best friends, he was serious, so serious that it only increased the nervousness of the boys.

- Mark, we... We came here to apologize. What we did was horrible, and we didn't even look for you... Didn't go to visit you, we didn't care, didn't ask if you was okay. We didn't dare to apologize even once! And that was so wrong of us. - He began by looking at the lawn - You deserve much better friends than we. We've caused your accident, we... we were stupid and--.

Andrew wasn't looking at his old friend while speaking, so when he looked up, he didn't see coming the punch that made him fall to the ground. His head began to throb at the same minute, but Mark hadn't discounted what he needed.

With a tug, the blonde lifted the boy's shirt, giving him one more punch - that one bruised his mouth, causing the side of his face to hurt even more.

Jackson took two steps forward, his husband's name coming out of his lips, he had to stop him before he beat up the kid right there with a strength that he not even knew he had - but the look he received made him stand still where he was.

- Andrew. - Mark began with his voice deeper than usual - You're a waste.

The boy lowered his head, digesting those painful words.

- You two don't escape, too. None of you mean something. - He continued, coldness in his voice - I spent a year, a ing ty year because none of you dared to look for me! You and the locals were the only people whom I could remember, but you left me alone! You abandoned me, because you're cowards!

Mark spoke in a firm tone, but he didn't raise his voice, not enough to be heard by distance. His anger was evident in every aspect of the moment.

- That's right, a bunch of ing cowards! I should drag you and make you eat sewage, because that's what you ing are! You almost killed me, Andrew. What would you do if I died, huh? Would you cry at my grave and blame your ing miserable life? - He scolded, stepping hard on the floor - If it wasn't for that man standing over there, my life would be hell, I probably would have commit suicide sooner or later because I was alone. Because you're a piece of nothing.

The way Mark put the facts on the table frightened Jackson, he had never seen so much bad words out of his husband's mouth all these years together.

- You're the worst friends anyone could have. If you think that apologize will solve the you did, you can only regret, Andrew. You'll have a long way to go to regain my trust. - He walked a few steps away, watching them with the same cold eyes - Do not appear in front of me for at least a month. If you show up, you're gonna feel the same pain I felt.

Mark clenched his fists, squinting and swallowing dry. To calm down, he took a deep breath and started to turn away, but then he remembered something.

- Oh, and before I forget. Apologize to my father too. If I discover that you didn't do that, you'll be even more sorry that you already are.

Without looking back, he walked over to Jackson, grabbed his hand and pulled him regardless of the strength out of the park, leaving them behind. When they entered the car, the eldest just folded his arms across his chest and stared at the landscape out the window.

Jackson knew the person he loved, he knew he was crying.

- Mark, I... I'm sorry, I gathered them to apologize because I thought you needed it...

- Don't apologize. - He sighed - What you did is beautiful, thank you... I just... They deserved it, you know?

The rest of the day, Jackson didn't mention what happened earlier. He knew deep down that it was the way of his husband and his friends solve their problems.

Exactly one month after that day, the couple had an unexpected visit. When Mark opened the door, he saw Andrew, the boy was carrying four boxes of pizza in one hand and a cola in the other. His eye was still bruised and his lip was recovering, but he looked fine.

- This time I brought pizza. You won't dare to hit me, man, I mean... it's pizza.

That night, Andrew was forgiven. Raymond had sent a message to Mark a few days before warning that he received an apologize from Andrew, so he knew his friend was really trying to make amends for what he did. They took a picture together, saw movies, played, had fun, and then Mark felt a great weight out of his back.

And, anyway, it was pizza, right?

Mark could remember clearly that day how much Jackson had been startled to see him so angry, and every time they argued, he asked for mercy for his husband not hit him under any circumstances - which cut the serious discussions, since it made Mark laugh too loud.

- Silly...

Despite knowing that he was already delayed more than necessary to be there, Mark ended up spotting another important polaroid within those years that have passed. It was a picture of him, a little girl, a boy a bit older than her and Jackson, happy as ever.

That day was one of the latest, and he couldn't help but smile.

- Jackson, I don't want to go!

The younger stared at his husband unbelieving in his ears, he was the mastermind of the idea, in the previous year, to adopt a child. And now that they were in front of the orphanage, the man was refusing to go.

- But what's the problem? We agreed that we'd adopt when we were ready!

- Because I'm gonna see that lot of children without parents and I have a weak heart!

Mark completed the sentence forming a small pout on his lips, making Jackson laugh softly, leaning to deposit a brief peck on his husband.

- I understand that, my love. But think that at least we will be helping one, yes?

The blonde just nodded, being guided by Jackson into the establishment. Once inside, Mark's eyes stopped on a lonely boy, he played with his cars while other children screamed and ran in all directions.

Without realizing it, Mark was already approaching the boy and, within seconds, was sitting beside him.

 - Hello, little one. - He smiled, watching the child look at him for a few seconds.

- H-Hi... - The boy then looked back at his toys.

Mark chuckled, he looked exactly like him when he was younger. Regardless of permission or not, he took a toy car, playing along with the child without him noticing.

- Look... I came here to take one of you home, you know? To be my family.

And choosing his words, he decided to be straight with the boy. They needed to see the child's level of acceptance, since it wasn't easy for everyone to accept the fact that the adoptive parents would be two men. Also, they were going to adopt older children and not any baby.

- Are you... alone? - The boy asked curiously, making Mark laugh.

- No, little angel... Look here. - He pointed to Jackson, who was talking to the official - See that young man over there? He and I want to be dads.

The boy looked a little surprised with the new information acquired, but didn't show any bad reaction. He looked thoughtful and then, after a few seconds, added:

- So I'd have a daddy and a daddy?

Mark chuckled, one hand reaching for the child's hair, ruffling it.

- That's it. If you accept to be our son, of course... It's just that you really caught my attention. Here, quiet, playing alone. And we were thinking of an actual child and not a baby...

The boy was only six years old, but he for sure was smart, that Mark knew. His face changed to sad suddenly, and he stopped to play with the toys. He seemed reluctant to open up, but then began to speak.

- It's just... I'm older... And I have a sister. - He confessed, looking at Mark - And generally people want to adopt her because she's only four... Neither of us wants to be separated, we wanted to be adopted together, but...

Mark sighed, and the expression that the boy had has only worsened, as if he knew he couldn't get out if his sister was together. But the blonde stood up and held out his hand, smiling.

- Come on, show me where your sister is. If we adopt the two, we have to know both, right?

The smile that appeared on the small face made Mark won the day for his actions. He knew that two children would be a little bit difficult, his own husband was still a kid too, but he refused to leave them behind. He knew that no one would adopt him with her sister and they end up going growing up without parents.

In the distance, Jackson watched his husband, smiling at every action he did. When he saw him walking over to a younger girl, stopping to talk to her, lifting her in his arms and giving her a treat, he already knew.

Having two new lives in their home could be difficult, but he trusted in the decisions that Mark was taking.

And while the boy was busy entertaining and meeting the children, Jackson was already signing the papers.

Mark remembered that on that day, they spent hours and hours at the mall, bought clothes, toys, reformed the room for the two siblings and still celebrated with evening barbecue. The happiness was immense, and he felt he had done a good deed.

Before he ended up delaying even more, he withdraw from the room to go to the garden. There he watched his korean friends who came to the party, Andrew, his children, his husband and both Wang and Tuan families, all together, laughing, drinking.

Cautiously and trying not to draw attention, Mark left the house and walked up to them, but his eldest son ended up with all his caution.

- Mommy!

For the word, the eldest made a face. But still, he reached out and held his son in his arms when he jumped in his direction, adjusting him so he wouldn't fall.

- Jackson! I said to not teach them to call me mother, I'm a father too!

Jackson laughed out loud along with the others, shrugging.

- It'd be a mess. And between you and me, the mother here is you.

Mark rolled his eyes, trying to not smile. He left his son on the floor, the boy quickly running to get back to play with his grandfather.

- Luke, don't run! You're gonna hurt yourself!

- See? You're clearly the mother.

Jackson laughed even more when he received a light punch on the shoulder, extending to his husband a glass to him join the others. That was when Mark saw his youngest daughter glued to the father, shy with so many visits.

- Oh, Luthie, don't hide. - He laughed, ruffling his daughter's hair.

- It can't be helped, she loves me so much, I'm a handsome father.

- Jackson...

The child chuckled and settled back in her father's lap, asking him to give her more meat and attention. Mark smiled at the lovely scene, and then glanced around the garden, watching his friends and family.

A sigh left his lips, taking the drink that Jackson gave to him, sipping the liquid. Then he turned to observe his husband, seeing him be a complete disaster when he tried to do the barbecue, being scolded by Jinyoung and Andrew.

Mark chuckled, getting the attention of his loved one. Jackson asked for Junior to take care of Luthie for a few minutes, and then left her in his lap, the girl smiling and playing with Jinyoung's hands.

The younger walked to his husband and sat down beside him, filling his face and lips with kisses before backing away, holding him by the waist, keeping both close enough to whisper.

- Happy five years of marriage, my love...

Mark grinned, happy to be with his boyfriend, fiancé and husband in that so special and unique date to them, they could now celebrate with all the people who loved them.

And once again, Mark smiled, no tears, no despair, taking advantage of every second to its fullest knowing that the next day he would remember everything anyway.

Thanks to Jackson Wang in his life.

-----

SOOO there we go with some notes before I forget!

Chapter 6: This is a wonderful adaptation of Markson in 50 First Dates! I actually haven't seen the movie, but I read a fic also based on the movie from the HoMin fandom years ago and to this day it is still one of my most favorite and most memorable fics. I was so happy to see that you wrote a Markson version! Reading this has been wonderful! The struggles that they had to go through to finally be together and the magical moment when Mark remembered Jackson, everything was so beautifully written. Even though you aren't a native English speaker, you described their story so well! I truly love what you have done to the story and I think I'll be back to read this again and again in the future. Thank you for writing & sharing this!
