You Said Remember Me

Victoria turned around to see a tall figure standing not too far from her, but as her eyes adjusted to the dark with the help of the street lights she recognized him. Immediately she frowned as Melodix began barking wildly.

“Hi there,” he cooed toward the dog.

“What do you want?” Victoria asked nervously gripping onto Melodix’s leash.

He ignored her and glanced at her apartment behind her, “So this is where you’ve run to after disappearing from Incheon so suddenly.”

“It’s not your business,” Victoria muttered quietly feeling a bit of resentment toward the young investigator, who always seemed to be nosing into her life now.

“Did you say something?” he asked and when she didn’t answer he smiled. “I thought so.”

For a moment Victoria really wished she hadn’t let Philip leave so early. She stood feeling the warm breeze against her skin as she felt silence infiltrate the air around them.

“Come on Melodix,” Victoria called toward her dog as she headed toward the door and back into the house then closed the door behind her double checking that it was locked. She didn’t know how long she stood staring at the door until she turned around. The presence of the investigator who seemed to pop out from everywhere was really irking her nerves. Just once she wished he’d leave her alone.

/////

Making a mental note to himself about where she now resided Donghae made his way back to his car and drove back to Incheon.

/////

After the cop left he stared at the apartment where Victoria now lived. Tightening his hand into a fist he could feel anger burn up in him. Victoria had let that first man enter her home, but at least she hadn’t allowed that nosey investigator to enter her house like she always did back at her apartment in Incheon. If he could get close, show himself to her, she would remember him and let him enter her home. But not now. He couldn’t show himself to her. He had to wait until the timing was right.

/////

Kim Heechul stared at the yearbook wondering how Victoria was doing and if she was feeling any better since the funeral. He’d felt awful to see her cry but in what way could he comfort her that wouldn’t make her feel awkward? It was already worse enough that she couldn’t even remember him. Maybe because he’d allowed Song Philip to overshadow him during their university years. Heechul was beginning to regret being so nice to that young lad who was now a professor at some tech college. Sighing he stared at the pictures he’d taken at the funeral home. None of them had Victoria in them and he hadn’t done what he’d promised himself, but the next time he would be sure to snap a picture of her.

Donghae had arrived at work early and had found no notes on his desk. The chief was probably organizing some information about the case so Donghae made his way toward his desk and sat down only to be greeted by the ringing of his phone.

“Oppa!” Hee Sun’s came.

“What are you doing calling so early?” questioned Donghae.

“It’s so boring here in Seoul. Do you want to suggest some things for me to do before school starts next week?”

“Just walk around and you’ll find something interesting.”

“Don’t be so boring oppa. You’ve lived in Seoul before so there must be some things you like doing. Can’t you share them with me?”

“Yea, I did do something. I lazed in my home.”

“Oppa! Be serious!”

“I’m serious Hee Sun. I didn’t do anything but if you’re looking for something to enjoy then take a walk around the block and go to the movies.”

“Who goes to the movies alone? I’d only go if you went with me.”

“I’m at work right now Hee Sun,” Donghae said as he noticed Sasha give him a curious stare.

“Ok…can you visit me later? I don’t want to be alone in Seoul, it feels lonely. Ok oppa? Ok?”

Donghae sighed, “I’m not promising anything.”

“Your little girlfriend still calls you at work?” Sasha asked with a tone of annoyance in her voice.

“My sister, Sasha, my sister.” Donghae stated. “Hee Sun’s just a tad bit too young for my taste. She just entered university, did you know? Her youthful years are going to fly by before she realizes it.”

“Are you making fun of me?” Sasha questioned.

“No.” Donghae replied then turned to his computer wondering when he’ll ever receive the call from the doctor.

Victoria stared at her 6 foot bookshelf  now filled with books of every sort. The human mind always seemed interesting to her because she couldn’t quite understand it and it seemed like something that operated by itself. Victoria smiled feeling accomplished and sat down by her computer. Her first lecture class had 158 students, an overwhelming number, but she knew she could do something about it. College students are so much mature than high school students, who got on her nerves easily.

Victoria checked over the syllabus she’d hand out on the first day and printed it off along with a worksheet she planned on handing out. She just needed Tori to make exactly 158 copies for her before class would officially begin. Spinning around in her chair she stared out at the road through the window behind her desk. What a magnificent view it was of the busy world. She felt fresh and happy to know that she would be starting the new school semester without anything on her back.

“Han In Seol…I miss you.” She whispered under her breath then got up, grabbed her purse, then walked out the door.

/////

Two hours later Donghae found himself driving down the highway on his way to Seoul. He felt bored after waiting for the doctor’s reply and with Eunhyuk’s urges to go check up on his step sister Donghae was on the road. When he entered the city streets of Seoul something else appeared in his mind and out of curiosity he was driving toward the Seoul University. However, as he drove into the lot his eyes didn’t miss the car that was just driving out onto the road. Swerving his car around he drove after her.

/////

Victoria stepped into her car, stepped on the accelerator, and was headed toward the floral shop she’d seen early in the morning. Stopping in the lot she stepped out and walked down the tiny aisles glancing at the beautiful flowers around her. Grabbing a few random stalks she headed toward the counter, “Can you put these into a bouquet and wrap it up for me?”

After paying Victoria headed back out and toward her car then headed down the highway back to Incheon. Traffic stopped her for almost an hour and she finally arrived at the graveyard after 5. Stopping her car on the gravel path she walked the rest of the way toward his tombstone. When she arrived at that beautiful marble stone that marked his area of peace she set the flowers down beside it and silently let her thoughts flow out to him. Even though she was practically speaking to nothing she felt that he was there listening and would embrace her if he could.

Just when she began flying back into her memories the sound of footsteps and a stick breaking caught her attention. Victoria turned to her left alarmed but saw no one. Allowing her eyes to search around she curiously stepped down the path to her left and looked around realizing she was the only one there. She was sure she’d heard something and before she realized it she’d gone further and further into the cemetery to an area where she’d never been to before. A small brick building probably where jars of ashes were stored stood before her. The two large trees standing on either side of the building told her that no one was there. Deciding she’d been paranoid she was about to turn around when she heard mumbling. When she turned around to stare at the building again the wind rushed passed her.

“I hate you…I hate you…I hate you…I hate you coming here…I hate you…” the male voice rung in her ears.

Victoria felt goosebumps climb under  her skin before she noticed a figure standing behind the building. Her heart pounded as she struggled to get the words out of , “Who are you?”

“I hate you! I hate you!” the voice became louder.

When the dark figure began to appear from behind the building Victoria turned around with her heart in her ears rushing back to her car. Whoever that person was was crazy and would probably hurt her if she stayed any longer. Why was it that no one was at the cemetery that day? Everything was a blur around her when Victoria ran pass Han In Seol’s grave.

“Get out of here. Just get out of here.” a voice inside her repeated before she bumped into something that sent her screaming.

/////

Donghae finally entered the cemetery just 5 minutes after he’d seen her car drive through the gates but when he found her car she was no where in sight. Walking around he stared at the tombstones around him and wondered why she’d come there during the middle of the day. After walking in circles he walked toward her car and glanced inside the vehicle to see that the flowers she’d bought earlier were no where in sight. Staring to his left he decided to walk down the small path between the graves only to feel something rush into him.

/////

“Why are you screaming? Get a grip,” a voice suddenly said.

Chapter 88: Wow :o I can't believe I spent my entire day in bed reading this! When I saw the number of chapters this has, I thought it would take me at least a few days to finish this. Guess I was wrong. This is your second full-length story that I've read. It definitely had a different writing style from Defence but after a few chapters, I quickly adjusted. I was hooked at around chapter 10. My review is not going to do this story justice, so I will end it soon. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the plot and romance were explored very well. Don't ever stop writing!

Chapter 87: i've just finishing read the whole chapter in two days..it's worth it. actually i don't really ship haetoria pair much after reading their kingdom panorama because the character is make me annoyed especially donghae. but, as i read the whole chapter i just love the way you describe their own character with the way they talk or act, so does donghae :)
you're doing a great job giving a detail to every act that the character does do that there's nothing left hanging, altough at some chapter when vic and donghae getting serious in relationship the whole story turn into more drama situation. it's good but it keep bugging me that the stalker been quiet for some time and wonder when he'll come back. as for another character like hee sun,i think it's good addition, her immature act made the story more interesting and hearbreaking. and i feel sorry for heechul, at the begining i think he'll became main character but in the end his part is getting smaller..but overall it is a very good one. i'll wait for another great story,while keep waiting on "3 ways " thank you for sharing :D
