Dear J,

I woke up today hearing my dad's screams downstairs.

When I realized they were real and not from my dreams, I jumped out of bed and ran to the stairs, getting ridiculously dizzy on the way, because I got up too fast.

When I got downstairs, my mom held me back. What was going on??! Then I realized. Dad's fish, GD...was...dead!

Oh my - Did I kill him????

I looked at my mother and she shook her head in a warning way to me without dad seeing. I locked my mouth shut and just watched.

Dad kind of began to cry. I was asking myself if that wasn't too much, after all, he was a fish, they die fast...right?

My mom checked the fish food pack. "It's spoiled..." She said.

Could something like that kill a fish??? It might not have been me...Still, I felt like an undercover fish murderer!!! :<

Dad did a fish funeral in his toilet.

He bought red and white roses... It would have been kind of pathetic if my dad and sister, Taerin, weren't crying.

She liked him too, he was her dolphin toy, Chimy's best friend, as she said it.

Later, mom was trying to "cheer" dad up and started talking about having a new pet. A non-fish pet.

"What would you rather have, kids? A cat or a dog?"

We answered almost imediately that we want to have a cat! Except dad, he was just silent...

Mom added it should be a female either way. She said they are usually more docile, and she always wanted a female pet! :P
