"I regretted it." He said as he gulped down the beer. Kyungsoo and Suho gave him a questioning look. After what had happened in her place just now, he decided to meet his friends at their shared villa to talk about his problem but apparently, only Suho, Kyungsoo and Sehun was there.

"Regret what? Did you regret for dumping Iris because you finally realized you were just being a ?" Sehun snorted, playing an online game.

"Shut up, maknae." Kyungsoo hissed. Kai sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as the sense of regrets washed over him.

"Sehun was right. I still love her." He mumbled and it was Kyungsoo and Suho's time to sigh. Suho glanced iver at his best friend and patted his shoulder.

"So what are you going to do now?" Kyungsoo asked, watching how the younger looked so troubled.

"I don't know. Iris asked me to love her for another seven days and then, she told me I can let her go. I didn't know why she asked for a ridiculous wish like that and she started calling me oppa, too! I mean, she is not the type who likes calling people like that. She had grown thinner too. I noticed the amount of makeup she would put on her face. You know how much she loathed wearing makeup. She was not being herself." He said frustratingly.

"Is she sick?" Sehun asked suspiciously, pausing the game he was playing, he rested his chin on his palm before saying, "you said she had grown thinner, right?"

"You're spouting nonsense, Sehun." Suho said and Sehun just shrugged before continueing what he was doing.

"Just saying, geez." He mumbled silently.

"I'm going to get her back. I'm not going to lose her. I'll tell her the truth on our seventh day." He said before standing up and grabbed his car key, "Thanks, guys!" He shouted, running out of the villa.

Five days had passed. Today was the sixth day and we were just strolling around the park. After the incident three days ago, Jongin came to my house the next day, asking if I was alright. We made up and went to watch a softball tournament. He had changed a lot and he was being the old him. I loved it but at the same time, I was scared if it was just another act.

"Baby? Did you hear what I just said?" He pinched my nose, snapping me out of my thoughts. I blinked, "h-huh?" Frowning at my response, he sighed, "I said, do you want to watch fireworks tonight? I know how much you loves watching fireworks." He smiled charmingly.

My gaze fell to the ground and my face hardened. Well, not anymore. I hated it now. The fireworks were the witness of our breakup. I started kicking pebbles and let out a sigh.

"Alright," I forced a smile on my face and his face lit up before he slung an arm around my shoulder, automatically pulling me closer. I noticed he was in a good mood today. I was surprised after receiving a text message from him, wishing me a good morning.

"Good! For now, we'll go to the cinema. There's this new movie that I know you'll like it." He said, intertwining our fingers together before placing a light kiss on my lips. I looked down and let the first tear fell.

He was being the old him and it made me afraid.

I knew it will be hard for me to let him go. It was already hard for me to let him go before and with my worsened health. I've been losing too much weight and I knew he noticed it. It was just that... he didn't really care, did he?

After watching movie, we went to the famous street of Hongdae. He must have caught me looking at the couple rings because he chuckled. I lowered my gaze in shame. Right, we were not a couple anymore. What right do I have to ask him buy me things?

"Baby, wait here for a sec, hm? I need to go to the restroom." He said before disappearing into the crowd. I waited for him there, playing with my phone when I received a text message from Dr. Park.

To: Dr. Park

Iris, you need to start taking treatment as soon as possible. The chance of you surviving are barely there.

With that, my tears fell. I bit my lips as I turned around to wipe the tears off my face and sent her a quick reply,

From: Iris

Don't worry, Dr. Park. I'll start taking treatment the day after tomorrow.

Suddenly, a pair of warm arms wrapped itself around my waist, pulling me closer to its owner. I flinched in shock before calming down. "Baby, turn around."

I did as what I was told. Turning around, I found myself staring at him. Jongin smiled before pecking my lips. He held my hand and then I felt a cold metal bank slid onto my left, fourth finger effortlessly.

My eyes widened as my gaze landed on the ring. His name was engraved on it. I smiled sadly, I wish I could keep it with me forever.

"I have one with me too!" Jongin said cheekily before he showed his left hand. There was my name on his ring. I couldn't help but to burst into tears. Jongin seemed shocked by my sudden burst when he brought me in his arms.

"Why are you crying? Are you not feeling well? You look pale too." His voice laced with concern and instead of answering to his question, I snuggled closer to his chest, sobbing quietly.

I have stopped taking my medicines because Jongin had been staying at my place. I didn't want to make him suspicious. I kept all the medicines in a bag under my bed.

"Thank you, oppa. For letting me love you." I mumbled against his chest, tightening my grip around his waist. Placing a soft kiss on his chest where his heart was located, I whispered lowly, "Please don't forget about me when I'm gone..."

We were walking along the riverside and sat on the bench. The same place where he told me he wanted to break up with me. I leaned my head on his shoulder, the sleepiness started to take over my body system.

"Tomorrow is the last day, oppa." I mumbled tiredly. I looked up at him only to found him smiling. My heart broke into pieces. Was he that happy to finally be able to shut me out of his life?

"Yeah, we have one day left." and I'm going to make you officially mine again... Jongin thought. It was already 11.50 pm. We waited for the fireworks while talking about the past.

"Take care of yourself, oppa." My voice cracked and I straightened my body before turning away from him. He chuckled and brought my hand closer to his lips, kissing it gently before mumbling, "I will..."

"Eh? Baby, I've been waiting to ask this. You've gotten thinner. Did you not eat or something? Are you sick?" He asked, eyes narrowwed at me.

"Of course not. It's just that... I didn't really have the appetite to eat."

"Well, if you're sick, tell me okay?" He said gently, leaning his head on my shoulder. I turned my head slightly and kissed his forehead.

Suddenly, a huge explosion in front of us erupted as the fireworks exploded. It was lovely but it couldn't erase the pain in my heart remembering a certain memory that happened during the fireworks show.

We sat there quietly, watching the fireworks when Jongin cleared his throat. "So, I guess I'll meet you tomorrow?" He said shyly. I frowned, "you're not coming with me?"

He lightly kicked the pebbles on the ground before rubbing the back of his neck, "I have something to do tonight. Be careful, baby." He said before leaning in to kiss me.

I kissed him back, pouring all my emotion into the kiss as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer until there were no space left between us.

I pulled away, panting. He smiled lovingly before placing light kisses on my lips. "I'll wait for you tomorrow at the cafe we had our first date. Don't be late." He said and kissed me one last time and hugging me.

As I walked back home, I couldn't help but let the emotions engulfed my body system. One day left, huh? I chuckled bitterly as the crystal clear water ran down my cheeks.

I sent a short message to Dr. Park and sighed,

To: Dr. Park

I'll be there the day after tomorrow.

As she sat on her bed, ready to let the sleepiness engulf her, she suddenly felt weak. Her body trembled as she felt like the room was spinning. The thump she felt in her head beating in time with her racing heart. She tried to stand up but there was no strength in her legs. She coughed and coughed as she forced herself to stand on her feet.

Her chest hurt so much as if she was stabbed by tons of invisible knives. She walked into her bathroom, and splashed some water in her face, trying to lessen the pain. But it didn't help her at all. Opening the cabinet, she managed to found the bottle that contained painkiller. Dr. Park had told her to keep it as precaution and she thanked her for that.

She twisted open the cap and gulped down two pills of painkiller. She closed her eyes as she started massaging her chest, at the same time, trying to prevent herself from coughing. She coughed and gently rubbed her chest before taking small steps out of the bedroom.

"I feel like dyinng, god– ah!"

Everything went fast. She didn't manage to get a grip of anything when she slipped and her head hit the sink. She gripped her head as she felt something oozing out and that was when she noticed it was blood. Her blood.

She hated blood and the smell of the blood made her light headed. Everything around her was blurry and suddenly turned black as she let her body fell on the wet floor helplessly.

"Did she forget our date today?" Jongin mumbled to himself as he stared at her favorite drink. He had bought her favorite drink and had been waiting her for almost three hours.

He sat there patiently, thinking maybe Iris was still getting ready for their date. It's okay. I can wait. He smiled to himself as he stared at the velvet box in his hand. He had been thinking for the past few days and he came with a decision that he should be honest to her. He should tell her about his real feelings. No, he couldn't bear losing her.

"Where are you, Iris?" He mumbled as he looked around the cafe, hoping to see the love of his life but she was nowhere to found. He fished his phone out of his pocket and dialed for her number.

"The number you have–"

"The num–"

"The number y–"

"Why isn't she picking up my calls?" He started feeling uneasy. What if something happened to her? His eyes grew wide at the thought of something might happen to her as he rushed out of the cafe after slamming some cash on the table.

He tried calling her again but it was sent to the mailbox. "God, Iris! Stop scaring me." He cried out of frustration as he drove to her apartment. He didn't care about the cars honking as he sped up, hoping he would arrive as soon as possible.

He slammed the door shut and ran to the elevator. He tapped his feet impatiently as his hand grew clammy and the cold sweat rolled down from his throbbing temple.

He rang the bell of her apartment but there was no response. He knocked, kicked and even banged the door but there was still no response. "Right, I'll just open the door." He muttered under his breath as he punched the passcode and the door beeped opened. The first thing he saw was he shoes and it was confirmed that indeed, she was in there. He let out a sigh of relief.

"Iris?"

"Baby, are you in there?"

"Baby? Hey, where are you?"

He walked into her room and noticed the ring that he had bought her the other day was on her makeup table. He chuckled and grabbed the ring. He continued looking around when he realized the water was still running out of the water tap.

He smiled a little. Iris had always forgot to do things and he thought she had forgotten to close the water tap as well. But as he stepped in the bathroom, he felt his breath hitched as he stared at the sight in front of her.

He couldn't move. He was too shocked to even breathe.

"I-Iris? Baby? Wha-what are y-you doing down there?" His voice trembled as he scooted closer towards her, bringing her head on his lap. The blood on her forehead made him shuddered as he hug her unconscious body.

Her face without any makeup on made him realized how pale she had been. The bags under her eyes made him tightened his hug around him. He scooped her in his arms and rushed out of her place. He desperately drove his car to the nearest hospital with Iris on his lap.

He hated seeing how calm she was with her eyes closed like that. She looked lifeless and it scared him to death. He kept placing kissed on her hair, trying to wake her up.

"Baby, don't do this to me. I couldn't effort losing you." He whispered as he opened the door and brought her in the hospital. "I need help here! My girlfriend– m-my girlfriend..."

The nurses rushed towards him and helped to put her unconscious body on the stretcher. He held her hand tightly while whispering sweet nothings into her ear, hoping she would respond.

"Sir, please wait here. We'll inform to you later." One of the nurse said but Jongin was too busy to care, "NO! I need to be there for my baby! She needs me! Let me in!" He cried helplessly.

"Sir, please, you need to cooperate with us. This is from Ms. Iris' safety." The nurse said before she walked into the ER and closed the door. Jongin stared at the space in front of him as desperate, tears of regret ran down his cheeks.

What was happening to his love?

What happened to his baby?

She was fine yesterday, why now? His trembling hand pulled out his phone out of his pocket and he dialed his best friend's number.

"H-hyung..."

"Kai? What happened to– Guys, slow down! I'm talking on the phone with Kai! Hello? What's wrong, Kai?" His best friend sounded worry as Jongin let out a sob.

"Iris... Iris is in the ER. I f-found her in the bathroom... unconscious with blood all over th-the floor."

". What happened? I'll be there in ten. Wait. Don't do anything stupid." With that, Kyungsoo ended the call.

"Kai!"

He turned to the source of the voice and saw his friends rushed towards him. Kyungsoo patted his back, "you okay, man?" He asked as he watched how the younger stared on his feet. His hair was messy and there was blood stained on his shirt.

"I-i'm not okay..." He whispered as he let the tears slid down his cheeks silently. Suho sat next to her and gave him a squeeze on the shoulder.

"She'll be alright. Iris is a strong woman, remember?" Suho said gently and Sehun squatted in front of him, "hey, cheer up. Iris will fight the illness. She's a fighter, remember?" Sehun said.

Jongin could only chuckle sa
