Bonus #1
Game ChangerIn celebration of hitting 1,000 story followers, I'm giving all of my stories with 1,000+ subscribers a 1,000-word bonus chapter. Game Changer is my most subscribed fic and also my first one (of only two currently lol) to get featured. So I decided to give this story a bonus chapter first. Here is Bambam & Yugyeom's story. Enjoy :)
Bambam and Yugyeom had basically grown up together. Upon entering high school, they fell into friendship with a group of five other guys and became very close-knit. But being the younger two, they were often brushed aside or naturally stuck together when everyone broke off into smaller conversations. The awkward thing was the unknown mutual attraction both boys had for each other.
Since they were in the same classes and participated in the same after school clubs, it wasn’t strange for them to spend time together, laugh together, and stay at each other’s homes. If it was a boy and a girl, everyone would think they were dating. But since they were two boys, no one suspected a thing.
When other guys in their group started showing interest in females and dating, including introducing a girl that Jackson was pursuing into their friend group, Bambam and Yugyeom individually worried what people would think about them. It all came to a head their senior year once their other friends had already graduated and some were engaged.
“Man, when do you think we’ll get girlfriends?” Bambam asked his best friend as they were eating snacks instead of studying in the library.
Yugyeom kept his head down, heart racing as he tried to focus on the text in his book. His mind was foggy as he wished his friend knew what was really in his heart.
A silent moment passed and Bambam hated the tense atmosphere his question created. So he came forth with a statement so bold Yugyeom couldn’t believe it to be true.
“Honestly, I’d rather have a boyfriend instead.”
The younger boy looked up, making eye contact with his smirking friend. He wanted to speak but his mouth went dry.
“Wh-wh-wha,” Yugyeom muttered before coughing.
Bambam laughed. “I mean, like how Yejin had boyfriends, all they did was hang out and flirt. It’s not much different than you and me, don’t you think?”
Yugyeom blinked rapidly as he looked down at the table. “We, we don’t-”
Bambam got up from his seat and walked halfway around the table before sitting on top of it, covering half of Yugyeom’s homework.
“We don’t what?” He said, looking down at Yugyeom with a smile, waiting for him to look up.
“We don’t flirt. Or kiss. Or do any of that dating stuff.”
