“Hello.” A clear voice, deep and almost nasal sounding, rung through the room. The boy-bot sat back, pulling itself out of the man’s grasp to look at him with wide, cool eyes that looked all-knowing but so uncomprehending of reality. He was closer than he had been before and there was no word for how I felt. Nervous just didn’t cut it anymore. It was almost as if all my organs had been dug out and my lungs were hanging in free space, I felt empty, open, light; but at the same it was like a hand surrounded my heart and was slowly applying pressure to it, tightening my chest.
"Before he got close enough to be heard, the ground burst in front of him. Flames rolled towards the sky and at the large lump at Shishi’s feet. The fur burnt quickly but the flesh and fat sizzled. The fire was tall and the tips flickered against the polluted air. The dirt beneath was becoming black and embers floated around the burning mass, dying seconds after liberty from the flames."
Every time I left art class I walked past the dance room. It had shiny wooden flooring and a wall made of mirrors. Every time I left art class there was the same boy dancing in that room. I’d never seen him anywhere else.

The tallest of the group that had just entered was ordered to find a seat so he glanced around the booths. His eyes fell on the seat in the corner where she sat. He felt his cheeks burn when his gaze turned to a stare. He glanced again and chose the group’s spot. As he walked over his eyes crept back to the girl. She was immersed in her book and didn’t look up as he approached, sliding into the booth next to hers.
