She's alone on a cold night and he offers her solace. They both try to force old feelings down, but all it takes is one lightning strike for their ticking time bombs to explode. "All we can do is keep breathing."
No. He didn't want this. They were supposed to live a happy life - grow old together. This couldn't be happening. It's all a dream - a nightmare. "Day by day, I become numb."
She had had a long day; his was even longer. They were both tense, and they couldn't hold it in anymore. But he always lets her know how he feels, even if she doesn't always hear him. Even if it's while she's sleeping. "If I lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world?"
It's all over once the sun rises. How do you survive when you're running out of time? "We're trapped." -"We'll find a way out- there's always a way out." -"Not this time."
"Stay here, I'll keep requesting, I'll do better." She's broken. She needs to see the world. He can't let her go - without her, it's not paradise. Even if being with him hurts, he has to make her stay. "I'll give you more, because I still can't send you off."
She was tired of falling down with no one there to pick her up. "Everybody knows you tried; everybody knows it's alright. You get some right, you get some wrong - there will be a day to smile again."
When she blew out the candles that night she had only one wish: for him to be next to her again. Could she be dreaming?
Sometimes they wished they were the only two people in the world. Somedays, they may even get their wish. "Slow down; this night's a perfect shade of dark blue."
They would often have moments like these - enjoying each other; relishing in the presence of the other - making time tick by slowly.
All she wanted was to be next to him, but sometimes he just burned too bright for her. "I'm gonna steer clear - I burn up in your atmosphere."
Keeping their relationship hidden was proving to be harder than it had originally sounded. "I don't need a parachute, baby, If I got you."
She had planned the perfect early Saturday morning, but he just wanted to sleep - and he doesn't enjoy sleeping alone. "This has got to be the strangest morning I've ever had in my life."
She just wants to know that he loves her, but he doesn't want his words to lose their meaning. "Hey, wait a second, I only look at you. Even if I don't act like it - I'm paying attention."
He had planned the perfect date - just the two of them. The sky was clear and it was the perfect temperature... so why was everything going wrong?
The pain felt crippling. She felt like she couldn't take it anymore. And then he was there. "Somebody take me away, 'cause I can't take this pain."
It was turning out to be an evening she would never forget. Where had the playful boy gone?
All she wanted was his smile again. He always did so much for her, and she figured it was about time she returned the favour. "Shouldn't the guy be doing the comforting?"
She had adapted to the abuse and refused to let their words get through to her. But he knows she's on the verge of breaking down, and it's more than he can stand. "Hold it together, I have the answer."
How long had it been? She knew she couldn't do anything about his insanely busy schedule, but she felt like not seeing him was like living without the sun. "Hold me down, sweet and low, and I will carry you home."
She doesn't want to be hurt anymore. But day after day it's always the same, and she wants out. He offers what she can't refuse - an escape. "Tell me I'm a wreck, say that I'm a mess."
He'd never admit it - not in a million years, but he was jealous. And he was determined to do whatever it took to get her to like him, even if it meant tired legs and near-death experiences.
What could he do to make her see the truth? He was sick of seeing her feeling miserable, and he just wanted her to realize that he was there, no matter what. "I think I'm ugly, and nobody wants to love me."
She didn't mean to run into him, or tell him everything. He just wanted her to know that he cared. "You're a hot mess and I'm falling for you."
He had finally gotten her to move in with him. He didn't know how long it would last, but he was content to enjoy these moments, for now.
He didn't think it would be so wrong for them to spend one day together, doing nothing but enjoying life. What his girlfriend didn't know wouldn't kill her, right?
They had been friends through thick and thin, but he couldn't bring himself to tell her how he really felt. One thing he's sure of: he needed her to be with him, and no one else.
This is wrong, and both of them know it. "I look at you and go crazy. Why can I only obsess over you?"
She had fallen into another fit of depression, and this time he was determined to cheer her up, using any methods possible. "And can you smile? You want this, you hope for this."
Another misunderstanding, another fight. More shouting, more tears, more threats. But as she's about to walk out the door, all he wants is for time to stop. "Time, please stop for a bit. I can't think of anything."
"Please don't stay in my heart once you're gone." He knew he should have thrown everything out ages ago. But there he was, surrounded by old pictures, videos, and letters.
